Hillary: VRWC is alive and well

posted at 12:43 pm on March 13, 2007 by Allahpundit

Only the Glacier could think dusting off this dilapidated meme is a good idea. It wins her no points with the left, who hate her for Iraq; it portends a return to Clinton-era rancor, which would be distasteful even if it didn’t follow eight years of Bush-era rancor; and it sharpens the contrast with Obama’s image as a fresh face who’s above the fray of partisan politics. He’s talking about a new day in Washington and she’s working off a script that’s literally ten years old.

Plus, now she’s gone and alienated the three or four conservatives in America who were planning on voting for her.

Speaking Tuesday to Democratic municipal officials, the New York senator used the term to hammer Republicans on election irregularities.

She also used the phrase similarly during a campaign appearance over the weekend in New Hampshire…

“To the New Hampshire Democratic party’s credit, they sued and the trail led all the way to the
Republican National Committee,” Clinton said.

“So if anybody tells you there is no vast right-wing conspiracy, tell them that New Hampshire has proven it in court,” she said.

It’s funnier if you imagine her saying it in a New England accent. Which she probably did?

Exit question: How much extra stupid is added here by the fact that the guy widely regarded as the architect of the vast right-wing conspiracy has since had a rather high-profile change of heart?

She is just firing bird-pellet scatter shot at this point. She sees her opportunity to scream once again in the WH slipping away.

vast right-wing conspiracy

I think of it as a badge of honor. An insult? Not so much.

KelliD on March 13, 2007 at 12:51 PM

I feel strangely patriotic…

Penn on March 13, 2007 at 12:54 PM

Nothing says Presidential like extreme paranoia.

Nethicus on March 13, 2007 at 1:02 PM

And this is supposed to be the smartest woman in the world?

Chad on March 13, 2007 at 1:02 PM

If democrats are afraid of imagined conspiracies, how are they capable of tackling the real, actual problems in the world?

lorien1973 on March 13, 2007 at 1:04 PM

You go girl!!
Keep on delivering those asinine statements with that shrill voice and you will be history even sooner than we had hoped for.

How much extra stupid is added here by the fact that the guy widely regarded as the architect of the vast right-wing conspiracy has since had a rather high-profile change of heart?

Ahhhh, but that change of heart is just another insidious part of the VRWC!!!

csdeven on March 13, 2007 at 1:09 PM

If you are as stupid, arrogant, and self-centered as she is, her (and her husband’s) failure can only be explained by pointing the finger at someone else. And since she is so “awesome” it must be a conspiracy of some type since no one person could pull off such a feat.

But you know what, Hillary? It is vast… so vast that most Americans are in on it. We all want to see you fail and fail big-time. Actually, I take that back… we’d rather not see you at all.

Decoy256 on March 13, 2007 at 1:10 PM

It’s only the Vast Left Wing Stupidity that buys her silly Vast Right Wing Conspiracy.

dallas94 on March 13, 2007 at 1:10 PM

What’s interesting is her example of the VRWC is some phone jamming scheme in NH… Interesting she didn’t mention tire slashing of dozens of ‘get out the vote’ vans in Wisconsin in 2004, or the stealing or GOP signs, or the random shots fired in to various GOP headquarters across the country. Oh wait, those were done by the VLWC.

RightWinged on March 13, 2007 at 1:13 PM

Haha! The more this thing shreeks, the better our chances of holding onto the W.H. in ’08!

Condi/Jeb

Thompson/Ermey

Mitt/Rudy

Stan/Klye

Abbott/Costello

Whatever, any Pub combo, as long as we don’t let “The Thing” back into the People’s House!

Tony737 on March 13, 2007 at 1:14 PM

Well, the VRWC better get on the ball. I still haven’t gotten my membership card.

Slublog on March 13, 2007 at 1:18 PM

Hillary has a point though. I miss the good ole days when we conservatives could just make up stuff out our opponents (sex in the oval office, etc) and get an impeachment out of it. I feel so non-viagra these days. It’s just not fun any more – this conspiracy stuff just isn’t what it was 10 years ago. I blame myself.

lorien1973 on March 13, 2007 at 1:19 PM

dallas94 on March 13, 2007 at 1:10 PM

Actually, I prefer the term “Half-Vast Left Wing Conspiracy”

psrch on March 13, 2007 at 1:25 PM

Shouldn’t we all be using our special VWRC code-speak?

I suppose the irony of fact that her nomination would play right into the hands of the VWRC–you know, if it existed [wink wink nudge, nudge]–is completely lost on her? She’s a pawn of the VRWC and doesn’t know it. How perfect is that?

TexasDan on March 13, 2007 at 1:43 PM

The Pantsuit is really tonedeaf. And she’s supposed to be so brilliant. Not only does she remind us of Monica, Bill, and the finger wagging, but she unwittingly accuses Democrats of being un-American with the silly whining about long lines at polling places, which are always in heavily Democrat districts.

Somehow it’s un-American because people are too stupid to know how to run a polling place or vote in orderly fashion?

Good grief. She’s need a piping hot cup of STFU.

JammieWearingFool on March 13, 2007 at 1:43 PM

Uhhh. VRWC, not…never mind.

TexasDan on March 13, 2007 at 1:43 PM

Didn’t BJ pretty much disprove Hillary’s assertion of a VRWC, after we found out he actually was getting it on with trailer trash bimbos most of his adult life?

As I recall, Hillary first threw the VRWC theory out there when Jennifer Flowers decided she could make a few bucks by giving a tell-all story to the tabloids.

Thanks for reminding us Hill, of your ability to lie for your lying husband.

fogw on March 13, 2007 at 1:54 PM

fogw,

She came up with it in January 1998 on the Today Show as dopey Lauer sat there lapping it all up. Either the same day or shortly after Drudge detonated the Monica bomb.

She later pretended she had no knowledge of Slick having any affairs, which is completely bogus.

JammieWearingFool on March 13, 2007 at 2:01 PM

Once a consipracy gets vast enough, it is no longer, by definition, a conspiracy.

askheaves on March 13, 2007 at 2:05 PM

Well, the VRWC better get on the ball. I still haven’t gotten my membership card.

Slublog on March 13, 2007 at 1:18 PM

We checked you out – you’re okay…it’s being sent via FedEx (not U.S. Mail). We right wingers don’t believe in using the federal gov. period, unless we are invading, detaining, arresting, wiretapping, torturing, etc.

I used to listen to Christopher Ruddy quite a bit back-in-the-day. If memory serves, he worked for the Pittsburgh Trib-Review (owned by Scaife), and he’d come on the Quinn and Rose show (a local talk show) every so often. Just about 2 weeks ago he was on Quinn’s show again, and I can’t tell you how shocked I was to hear him say that Clinton wasn’t that bad of a President. He did qualify that , though, by again bringing up the corruptness in the Clinton WH. Ruddy was talking, however, mainly from an economic viewpoint.

dalewalt on March 13, 2007 at 2:20 PM

If the right wing actually had a conspiracy, does she really think she would still be alive….?? Oh, wait, it’s when the dhimms are in office that “associates” seem to die violent deaths. James McDougal, Ron Brown, Vince Foster, Mary Mahoney…just to name SOME deaths that happened while they were president. Don’t know how valid the site is, but
Body Count
Am I sounding paranoid here?

Catseye on March 13, 2007 at 2:25 PM

She’d be well served to Fife up her political bullet before she loses a(nother?) toe.

yo on March 13, 2007 at 2:37 PM

So many conspiracies? Are you allowed to be a part of more then one? I mean anybody besides Carl Rove?
PS Anybody else find it ironic that the Dems want to have their convention in Denver which we all know is home to that huge cog of the VRWC LGF.
Shh that is a secret.

LakeRuins on March 13, 2007 at 2:48 PM

“vast right-wing conspiracy”

I am a proud member. Guilty as charged. PROUD OF IT.

I intend to do my utmost to insure that the only way this stupid, lying, vicious hate-filled criminal and her serial sexual predator perjuring husband can get back into the White House is when they get off the tour bus like any other visitor.

georgej on March 13, 2007 at 2:50 PM

PS – Karl Rove did NOT tell me to say that!

georgej on March 13, 2007 at 2:50 PM

Don’t forget Hillary also said she wasn’t a “Stand by man, woman” while managing to insult Tammy Wynette, IIRC, and then finally giving a weak half-ass apology. And as it turned that is exactly what she is.

LakeRuins on March 13, 2007 at 2:51 PM

I will try this again and this time try to include all of the words.

“We right wingers don’t believe in using the federal gov. period, unless we are invading, detaining, arresting, wiretapping, torturing, etc.”

Not true.

We are in favor of privatizing such activities and awarding the no-bid contract to HALIBURTON.

georgej on March 13, 2007 at 2:53 PM

Yes, true, but I was told to keep a lid on the Haliburton talk – given Haliburton’s hostile takeover of the UAE. It’s only a matter of time before Lord Cheney does his magic and cleans things up over in that part of the world (if you know what I mean).

Rick on March 13, 2007 at 3:34 PM

“It’s only a matter of time … (if you know what I mean).”

Yes.

Nudge-nudge, wink-wink.

georgej on March 13, 2007 at 3:47 PM

Jim McDermott (D-WA) got busted peddaling an illegally gotten phone conversation of Newt Gingrich during the 90s. Damn that McDermott for being part of that VRWC!!

Child In Time on March 13, 2007 at 4:02 PM

Not a surprise, though. Hillary’s middle name is rancor. Right after she declared as a candidate, that odious phrase “politics of personal destruction” reared its ugly head again. Now it’s the VRWC. Funny how all these negatives appear when a Clinton steps back into the spotlight.

jaleach on March 13, 2007 at 4:33 PM

If there were a VRWC did they take a vacation during Nov 06?

- The Cat

MirCat on March 13, 2007 at 4:45 PM

I should add I’m a member of the VRWC. I’ve got the decoder ring to prove it, too.

jaleach on March 13, 2007 at 5:05 PM

The Glacier only has one problem, a BIG one – how to fool the far Left to get through the primaries – desperation has set in. Those poos are nuts but they’re not as dumb as she thought. She ‘misoverestimated’ herself and the Clinton-machine.

Entelechy on March 13, 2007 at 6:56 PM

That is just part of the conspiracy; Let the demoncrats attain power so they will reveal their utter incompetence. So far, it’s working great!

I’m not just a member of the VRWC, I’m the leader.

Shh that is a secret.

I’m glad you didn’t mention our headquarters, which sits under the Denver International Airport.

OOOPS!

jaleach on March 13, 2007 at 8:47 PM

When she has to dust off an old phrase like that, you know she is in trouble.
Remember the good ol times when Bill and I were takin’ on the world, Why I remember…
