CNN played video of a presser where David “Idiot liberal” Obey AND his “idiot liberal” friend, Speaker Nancy Pelosi could not recall the actual date when they would began the 180 day countdown until defeat. In Rep. Obey’s case he couldn’t even remember the year
Transcript:
REP. DAVID R. OBEY, D-WIS.: Troops must be out of a combat role by October — I mean, by August of 19 — 2007.
REP. NANCY PELOSI, D-CALIF.: 2008. If they meet (inaudible).
OBEY: I’m sorry, that’s right.
PELOSI: OK. But if they haven’t made any progress by July, we begin the 180 days. If they haven’t made any. If they haven’t made — if the president cannot demonstrate progress by July, we begin the 180 days.
UNKNOWN: July 1st or 31st?
PELOSI: Is it July 1st or 31st? July 1st?

Pelo-I mean Angela Lansbury’s character keeps telling him to say different numbers. They don’t care what the date is, it’s all arbitrary anyway. They just want to create furor and look like they’re making things happen.The real problem is that if the US Forces were to leave Iraq as a stable, peaceful, and independently self-sustainable state, it would be a political disaster for them. We have to retreat in disgrace or they can’t win in ‘08.

If you’re a jihadi killer, you’ve got to take their “hints” and then work it into the Muslim moon calendar, allowing for Ramadan and Eid, so I’d guess they’re having to block out (at least in pencil) quite a few months.

As they’re pointing out, the “dates certain” aren’t that certain, nor are they even important. What’s important is they will not back down from their “defeat at all costs” position. All the rest is details.

This is disgusting. Folks, this isn’t just because these people are stupid, it’s because they’re evil politic playing pieces of sh**. They don’t know their plan, because it’s not a serious “plan”, it’s a political strategy… If it were a real plan they could have it set in their mind “this is how it’s gonna go down”. What she should have said: “If we do not make any progress in determining what our plan is, if we have a plan at all, by July Octobereth, er … I mean the 31st of this century, we have 180 more days to figure it out and get back to you. But that’s all and then we will vote do something if we can figure out what to do that would benefit Democrat presidential candidates in 2010 er … 2008, I think!”
