Video: Degenerate mugs, punches 101-year-old woman

Three times, square in the face. Hard to imagine a more viscerally disgusting crime that doesn’t involve death, sexual violence, or children. I don’t envy him the reception he’ll get from the other inmates when they found out what he’s in for.
The NYPD has already gotten 1,000 tips, which must be a record for robbery. This isn’t the only granny he’s hit lately, either:
The 85-year-old woman believed to be the mugger’s second victim, Solange Elizee, told police she was punched and pushed to the floor outside her apartment door by a man who had initially offered to help her get home.
“I like to help old people,” he said before turning violent, according to Elizee.
Both women are doing okay, although the 101-year-old has a fractured cheekbone.

But that would be racist to accurately describe the man, which is arguably necessary because I’m willing to bet that a lot of people can’t tell from that video. I’m reminded of this post by Malkin a year and a half ago, in which the WaPo removed the police description of race from their report for people to be on the look out for some criminals, and concentrated on their approximate age and color of vehicle.

It would be pretty cheap – a platform, some wood and maybe a police guard to make sure no one killed the guy.
I’m sure New Yorkers would let the guy know exactly how they felt about what he did, in language that would make the writers of “Deadwood” blush.

In the neighborhood I grew up in, there was a little old lady that walked a mile to and from her favorite diner for coffee twice a day, every day (4 miles total).
She must have weighed about 90 lbs and was half blind (she could basically see light and shadows and larger shapes – she was completely color blind).
She was well know around the neighborhood and people would pick her up if they saw her and drive her wherever she was going, but, rain or shine, ride or no ride, she made the trip every single day.
Every single day, that is, until a couple of punk teenagers knocked her down so they could steal her purse. She broke her hip in the fall and had to be bed ridden from that point forward. She was 99 when this happened.
They never did find the guys that did it, but, I’m pretty sure that there is a special place in hell reserved for people like them.

Whenever the MSM omits race from a suspect’s description I think that most people just assume that the perp is non-white. The media’s usual justification is that they don’t want to stigmatize certain groups, but by embargoing a description of a perp’s race they leave us in the position of having to make assumptions. The result is that the very stereotypes that the media wants to protect against end up being even more strongly reinforced.
In other words, by omitting race the MSM is telling viewers, in code, that the perp was non-white.
As the French say, it is irony, no?

I agree, the description of the man should have been more detailed. They had no problem describing the color of the bicycle. There is only one reason for this.

10 to 1 it was someone with a leftist-liberal mindset for that is exactly the way they behave, violent, intrusive, disrespectful, always practicing the double standard, and with a strong mindset toward entitlement.

The slimey coward! When they find him someone should take him out behind the wood shed. My great aunt was mugged when she was 89, she was walking back to church because she thought she forgot to put money in the offering. It happened right in front of the church, at a stop light, broad daylight and nobody saw a thing. For 5.00, someone beat up a little old hunched back lady, she had a stoke and died a couple of days later. This woman spent her life taking care of other people, never said a bad word about anybody and would have forgiven her attacker without a seconds thought. Crimes against the elderly and children should be dealt with harshly.

I know I couldn’t tell. I mean even if the guy is stark white, that would at least give more information than “30-year-old.”
If I believed in such things (worse places in hell than hell itself), then yes, I’d agree. It’s so meaningless. When someone is already so helpless that they have to use a walker to get around, why bother punching them in the face? Just take the purse and run.
I liked what the first lady said though about how he’s had to sink so low just for 30 bucks. People like him are obviously already living in some sort of hell.

I don’t think the guy’s really in it for the money. He could have just walked off with that purse, and what would the 101-yr-old lady have done, chased him down?
He hurts old people because he likes to hurt people and he knows they can’t fight back. This is not the first time he’s done something like this. I would take a bet he’s hurt children, too.
As to the lack of a detailed description, the “newspeople” are hampering the capture of a vicious thug for fear they’ll offend someone’s racial sensitivities by stating a simple fact.

Race won’t be given if the perp is black.
If the perp is white or Chinese or Asian Indian, maybe.
Also, if the perp were Arab or Muslim, be that North African, South Asian, or Middle Eastern-Arab, whatever ethnic description they might fall under, if they are Muslim that description would likely be omitted from the profile as well.
Good luck looking for that man on the pink bicycle who struck and robbed the 101 year old woman and the 85 year old woman.
Better use caution when approaching him, if he is ever found. He can beat up 101 year old women pushing walkers and he can steal their purses.
