Bush 41 hospitalized after collapse

Former President George Bush was hospitalized for dehydration after he collapsed during a golf game on Sunday. He was released earlier today.

Former President George H.W. Bush was treated at a California hospital for dehydration and released Monday morning after collapsing during a Sunday afternoon golf game in Palm Springs.

Jean Becker, Bush’s chief of staff, told The Associated Press that Bush fainted while playing golf with friends in 94-degree heat.

“He’s fine, he really is fine,” Becker said. “He became dehydrated, and he had a fainting spell. He came to right away, but as a precaution, they took him to the hospital and then _ much to his dismay _ as a precaution, they held him overnight. The doctors released him first thing this morning.”

The B41DS crowd is going wild with Bush death wishes at The Huffington Post. Good thing HuffPost has a comment disclaimer distancing them from their hate-filled readers.

Update: Here are some compassionate, caring comments HuffPosters have left for the former President:

If he dies, I get a day off. National holiday. Bush should see how it feels to lose a loved one. Fuck ‘em both!

By: kitebro on March 12, 2007 at 02:32pm

Let’s hope he didn’t puke on anyone’s shoes…

Do you think he ever wakes up deep in the night in a cold sweat because of all the Central American people he and the drooler killed?

Do you think he washes his hands hundreds of time each day trying to erase the blood of women and children?

Do you think there is a special place in hell for this butcher?

By: lonesometx on March 12, 2007 at 02:38pm

It’s not like he was helping former President Carter with building a house for those folks down in New Orleans or anywhere on the Gulf Coast where Katrina hit. Instead he was playing rich man’s game of golf. No sympathy here…only fodder.

SHOCKING! Absolutely stunning! And all this time I thought liberals were supposed to be compassionate and caring.

Gregor on March 12, 2007 at 3:06 PM

They can’t win or get their way, so they “Whish he was dead…”

They accuse us of being “kool-aid drinkers…” Sorry, I drink coffee, and Black Seal Rum + 7Up. Grown up drinks.

Childish. Totally spoiled rotten ignorant children.

Mazztek on March 12, 2007 at 3:06 PM

I’m sure Jimmy Carter is swinging a hammer, building homes for the people in New Orleans.

I thought liberals were supposed to be caring? LOL!

amerpundit on March 12, 2007 at 3:14 PM

Best wishes and prayers to Mr. Bush and to his family. He’s been under a lot of stress recently.

It’s really sickening that the troglodytes at HuffPo actually enjoy seeing a fellow American like Bush suffer. I hope we can keep them from ever having executive power ever again. Bunch of sick, sick folks over there.

For all of you hardcore conservatives out there that think that a Hillary presidency is better than to condescend to vote for a Rudy/Romney ticket, read those comments. That’s who you are voting into power. Please think about that. We, as a nation, cannot afford to let them have power ever again.

We got lucky under Clinton, as those psychotics weren’t organized. Not so any more. If they ever get centralized power, you can expect pogroms against Christians and conservative groups, not unlike but worse than Clinton’s retaliatory audits of Heritage foundation et al.

He’s a tough old guy and I hope he pulls through. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

A while back, I was discussing the death of Steve Irwin with my mom. I thought it was interesting how many people were extremely moved by his death as opposed to other celebrity deaths. I was attempting to express this thought (about how some deaths seem more profound than others) and I prefaced it with “Of course, it’s sad when anyone dies….”

At which point, my extremely liberal dad (who can turn any discussion into a political argument – always one-sided though since we stopped taking his bait), jumped in and said “What about Zarqawi? Were you said when he died?”

My response was, “I’m sad that he forced it to come to a point where his death was the only way to stop more killing.”

I don’t understand when people get as politically batty as my dad how they can jump in to defend the life of Zarqawi and yet they will jump for joy when an old man that served his country in war, then again in politics, and retired has a medical problem. At this point, Former President George Bush is a retired old man that has mostly stayed out of politics (other than a couple of times where he has defended his son – which is more about fathers and sons than about politics).

The folks at Kos, HuffPo, DU, and the rest should be ashamed at the kinds of people they attract. You can put up all the disclaimers you want about how your posters don’t express your opinions, but, at some point, you have to stop and look at who you are attracting with your message. Maybe your message is the problem.

Just thought it would be cool to say that there’s a link to this post on the Top Story at Google News. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Hot Air on Google News before…

emmaline1138 on March 12, 2007 at 3:25 PM

I’m sure the loser scum at huffpo would appreciate a good laugh at watching a 101 year old lady get her face smashed in.

Huffpo really attracts the kooks don’t they?

csdeven on March 12, 2007 at 3:25 PM

Instead he was playing rich man’s game of golf. No sympathy here…

Note to Huffpoos and the KPOS, et all…

Mr. Clinton never, ever, plays golf.

By: lonesometx on March 12, 2007 at 02:38pm

Sorry, I’m not clear on just who Bush41 butchered. I know it wasn’t the millions of Kuwaiti’s he saved from the real butcher who invaded their country. These people have exceeded the legal Kool-Aid drinking limit.

Who wants to bet this guy was the first one to complain about Saddam’s execution?

fogw on March 12, 2007 at 3:27 PM

like clockwork the Huffers provide us with the idiocy for which we’ve become so accustomed

And when Jimbo is not building houses, he is encouraging terrorism against Israel.

Rick on March 12, 2007 at 3:31 PM

I hope he’s alright. I went through something similar yesterday. Summer is approaching very quickly. Not a good time to not be by a pool or air conditioner.

Savage on March 12, 2007 at 3:32 PM

Mr. Clinton never, ever, plays golf.

Entelechy on March 12, 2007 at 3:26 PM

Well let’s be fair, Clinton spends most of his time playing more intimate games with the help.

Rick on March 12, 2007 at 3:32 PM

The man’s in good shape for his age, goin’ skydivin’ each birthday, etc. Best wishes Mr. President.

Note the difference, when Klinton went to the hospital a few years ago, we all wished him a speedy recovery.

Tony737 on March 12, 2007 at 3:36 PM

What’s funny is, most of those posters are dwellers in the fantasy realm, “Basement of Mom”. The skinny vegan goth races would burn to a crisp and perish instantly if they ever went out in 94 degree heat. The fat, sloth-like creatures would die of a stroke if they tried to play mini-golf in 94 degree heat.

And these turds are 4 times younger than GHWB! Talk about your generational differences.

reaganaut on March 12, 2007 at 3:53 PM

Clinton doesn’t play golf. He cheats at golf.

I hope 41 will be OK, but I wonder why he has to bother being on the links when it’s 94 degrees.

It’s been my experience that golfer’s don’t care about the weather.

What I’m wondering is where are our resident trolls? Anyone?

If you were a golfer you wouldn’t have to ask!

Ann on March 12, 2007 at 4:05 PM

Let me crystallize it, Jammie (With a little “The Aristocrats” form…)

Q. – What do you call a day with sunshine and hail, 90 degree temperatures, thunderstorms and mud, with dogs, cats, tarantulas and iguanas falling from they sky and intermittant earth tremors?

A. – A great day to leave work early and get eighteen holes in before dinner and evacuation down to the bomb shelter.

It is what it is…Don’t expect it to make sense. If someone invites you to practice, and then you play a few rounds, God help you…Especially if you hit that one perfect shot a round which brings you back. Just remember to keep the water bottle nearby.

Easy. It’s because to the warped and defective mind of a liberal … Bush IS Zarqawi. They are like the scitzophrenics you see on the side of the road waving at imaginary flying zombies. They live in a completely alternate reality.

Gregor on March 12, 2007 at 4:29 PM

Mr. Clinton never, ever, plays golf.

….ever plays golf honestly

Clinton doesn’t play golf. He cheats at golf.

They are going to change the term mulligans to “Clintons”

I hope 41 will be OK, but I wonder why he has to bother being on the links when it’s 94 degrees.

The same reason we play golf in the northwest in rain and 30 degree temperatures in the winter…it’s a sickness……

Mallard T. Drake on March 12, 2007 at 4:30 PM

Do you suppose Mad-Libs could come up with a Liberals Expressions of “Sympathy” for Ailing Republicans edition. Just select your favorite epithets to fill in the blanks.

Mallard T. Drake on March 12, 2007 at 4:33 PM

Best wishes to George H.W. Bush for a full recovery, and best wishes to his family also.

On the list of moonbat infamy, don’t forget when Sen. Tim Johnson had his stroke. Did we act like a pack of animals the way they do? No, we wished and continue to wish the Senator well, regardless of whether he’s a Democrat, and hope that he makes a full recovery. The moonbats, on the other hand, accused Republicans of causing his stroke. They sure do make it easy to be better than they are.

ReubenJCogburn on March 12, 2007 at 5:04 PM

Anybody who thinks golf is a “rich man’s game” has never played the public courses in Atlanta. You have not been schooled at that game until you’ve played with a 70 year old black guy who walked to the course and plays with a bag full of mismatched old ratty clubs.

Farmer_Joe on March 12, 2007 at 5:11 PM

I remember a month or two back when a democratic congressman had collapsed and Ian posted on it. It seemed like all HA people put the gentleman’s well being over politics and wished him a speedy recovery. Sorry, that the name isn’t coming to me, but I’m sure Ian remembers too?

wytammic on March 12, 2007 at 5:18 PM

Farmer Joe, I think I know the guy…Or one of his Bronx/Weschester County, NY relatives with a slightly better set of clubs…A few of the best days I ever had on the course I had by running into that gentleman and watching him interact with my teenaged son. Golf may have been the least of it.

And anyone who plays public courses knows that when golf exploded a few years back EEEEEEEEEEEVERYbody who could scrape together a set of clubs, a dozen balls and the greens fees came out to play. And not everyone of those players were rich…There were just days when they felt that way.

It’s just par for the course from the nutroots. You may find some on the far, far, far right pulling this kind of thing, but, it is the mainstream libs who are involve here.

It was Senator Tim Johnson who was hospitalized a ways back, and the vast majority of Conservatives not only wished him well, but kept politics out of it.

The libs, on the other hand, were worried more about the makeup of the Senate then Johnson’s health.

I’d hardly refer to those people as “mainstream.”
