Aussie imam: Global warming is Allah’s revenge on secularism

posted at 11:42 am on March 12, 2007 by Allahpundit

As a secularist, I blame myself.

A MUSLIM cleric has blamed the drought, climate change and pollution on the lack of faith Australians have in Allah.

Sheik Mohammed Omran told followers at his Melbourne mosque that out-of-control secular scientific values had caused environmental disaster.

“The fear of Allah is not there,” he said at a recent meeting. “So we now have a polluted earth, a polluted water, a wasteland.

“What are the people now crying for? The prophet told you hundreds of years ago, ‘Look after the water’.”

More goodies at the link, including choice excerpts from a sermon about outbreeding the kaffir. Meanwhile, as Pelosi announces the members of the House’s new global warming committee, Hollywood prepares to take its environmentalism to its logical conclusion: movies in which the earth itself is cast as hero and does battle with the evil humans who despoil it.

Exit question: is Omran’s supernatural explanation for climate change more or less plausible than Jerry Falwell’s?

I blame myself.

But that means, Global Warming is Allah’s will.

We’re saved.

So, can the Muslims in Australia solve global warming? Great news!!!

Babs on March 12, 2007 at 11:53 AM

Ah, and now the Leftist/Islamist is almost complete. Now that the environmentalists are on board, I wonder who the Islamists will target next. I am guessing PETA. Stay tuned for the next release that will say that Allah doesn’t want you to wear fur.

BohicaTwentyTwo on March 12, 2007 at 11:55 AM

BTW, I agree with what most of Falwell said. Must be a first for me!

Babs on March 12, 2007 at 11:55 AM

Yeah, maybe The Prophet said some nonsense about looking after the water, but The Prophet was a child-rapist. Do really want to be taking advice from a dude who married a nine-year-old? (I just read AHA’s book this weekend, and that part of the Koran stuck out for me.)

*&^%$#@@@!!!!

I just knew Michael Bay would find a way to screw up the Transformers movie!

“Why does Michael Bay get to keep on making movies?”

I think you’re misrepresenting what he said. He didn’t give an explination for it of any kind. He simply said that God would maintain the earth.

Go back and read it again AP

I question the timing…this is just some stunt to distract everyone from America’s success in Iraq….;)

… does this mean that manbearpig could be the 12th Imam?

I know it has a much scientific evidence as algore’s explanation!

TheBigOldDog on March 12, 2007 at 1:30 PM

Am I the only one who (honestly) thinks that some of the alarmists should be jailed when this whole global warming craze is over? I mean, we know the science doesn’t support man made global warming, and these scientists are flat out lying in order to get funding, keep their jobs, and remain popular in their fields and these politicians are using it to raise taxes, get votes, and hand sovereignty over to the UN. Are we going to have any recourse in a decade (give or take) when the whole theory is scrapped?

RightWinged on March 12, 2007 at 1:40 PM

There is more than likely as much scientific evidence pointing to global warming as there is pointing to the existence of Allah… so… sure makes sense to me.

Of course, that means that if there is no Global Warming, there is no Allah….

Oh, and Jerry Fartwell causes global warming the same way cows do.

Do really want to be taking advice from a dude who married a nine-year-old?

Not to quibble, but he married her when she was six years old. He waited to have sex with her until she was nine. Aaahh Mo, you romantic fool you!

Transformers will not be about the enviroment. If the movie tries to make the statement that the Autobots and Decepticons have ruined their own planet I’m going to laugh my behind off. They’re robots? Are they going to buy carbon offsets due to their own emissions. Ludacris.

Theworldisnotenough on March 12, 2007 at 2:09 PM

$4,000,000,000 per year is being spent in the US just on the study of global warming. Add to that all the environmental black mail being charged to business, industry, agriculture that each of us are already paying and the numbers are staggering.

Anyone want to venture a guess as to how much free housing, education and medical care we could provide for our citizens for this kind of money????

Dread Pirate Roberts VI on March 12, 2007 at 2:09 PM

The cleric doesn’t say that Allah is responsible for climate problems; he says that our secular values have caused those problems. And Falwell isn’t offering any explanation for climate change–indeed he makes it clear that he’s agnostic on the issue. Let’s read these things more carefully, even if we disagree with them.

Bill Ramey on March 12, 2007 at 2:11 PM

Sheik Mohammed Omran told followers at his Melbourne mosque that out-of-control secular scientific values had caused environmental disaster.

Wait a sec … aren’t the followers of Allah the ones selling the secularists the fuel that they need to destroy the environment?

If you haven’t seen the BBC’s The Great Global Warming Swindle, it is a must see. The Earth’s temperature is directly related to sunspot activity and not human-induced climate change. Fortunately, the sunspot and temperature data go far enough back to make a very convincing case.

Valiant on March 12, 2007 at 3:23 PM

So what do these Imam’s say when an earthquake levels entires cites in Iran? Causes tidal waves in SE Asia that wipes out countless communities? Or all the other natural disasters that we keep coming to their aid on? Allah’s Will? Oh noooooo, not then, then it’s nature or some Zionist conspiracy.

I swear, some people are just inches above rodents when it comes to actually trying to think for themselves or live in a world of logic.

All he wants is life beyond the Thunderdome.

Coyote D. on March 12, 2007 at 3:56 PM

Tyrs,

You must have missed the memo.

Israel DOES have a weather machine and it DOES have the ability to move tectonic plates.

They also have a machine that hides all of this from allah until AFTER it happens(earthquake, cyclone etc…..)and another machine that makes him forget shortly after.

Oh and one other. They have a machine that will cause HUGE numbers of palis to gather around an exploded vehicle for no apparent reason other than to get some face time on international TV.

Genius!

“The fear of Allah is not there”

But it is here…

Entelechy on March 12, 2007 at 6:30 PM

This not only confims the misanthropic malevolence of these ‘imams’, but the fact that they are such incredibly backward, stupid, superstitious jerks.

The Earth’s temperature is directly related to sunspot activity and not human-induced climate change. Fortunately, the sunspot and temperature data go far enough back to make a very convincing case.

The data goes back far enough to make it case closed. The greatest hoax of them all. Only a silly imam would use it.
