Hillary compares herself to JFK

Speaking at an event in New Hampshire, presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said she was smart, dynamic, and inspiring like JFK:
March 11, 2007 — NASHUA, N.H. – Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton invoked the campaign of the nation’s lone Catholic president, John Kennedy, last night as she talked about her challenge in becoming the first female commander-in-chief.
“He was smart, he was dynamic, he was inspiring and he was Catholic. A lot of people back then [1960] said, ‘America will never elect a Catholic as president,’ ” the White House hopeful told the New Hampshire Democrats’ 100 Club fund-raiser here.
“But those who gathered here almost a half century ago knew better,” she said. “They believed America was bigger than that and Americans would give Sen. John F. Kennedy a fair shake, and the rest, as they say, is history.”
Hm. We’ll give her smart, I guess. But, dynamic? Inspiring? Not so much.
And when it comes to dealing with national security issues, HRC is no JFK.

She does know he met a rather bad end, right?
Mazztek on March 11, 2007 at 3:52 PM
I wonder if she’ll be shrieking with a Massachusetts accent?
JammieWearingFool on March 11, 2007 at 3:57 PM
she’s doing this because Obama is a more accurate comparison, since are both JFK and Obama are media created politicians with zero substance.
jp on March 11, 2007 at 3:59 PM
If she ever tries to compare herself to Margaret Thatcher I’ll puke.
jp on March 11, 2007 at 4:00 PM
I thought Obama was the new JFK?
mlong on March 11, 2007 at 4:00 PM
Oh, she inspires people aplenty, but it’s mostly fear and loathing…
elgeneralisimo on March 11, 2007 at 4:02 PM
Yes, but did he have cankles?
bloggless on March 11, 2007 at 4:03 PM
How utterly reprehensable and just totally repulsive.
Vote for me! Gove ME a fare shake!
the sheer ignorance…
Mazztek on March 11, 2007 at 4:05 PM
The only thing hillary has in common with JFK is that she prefers ‘dalliances’ with women too.
LegendHasIt on March 11, 2007 at 4:05 PM
Does this mean she’ll name a family member as the AG?
JG2K6 on March 11, 2007 at 4:06 PM
The only thing she has in commen with JFK is the Bay of Pigs … minus the Bay.
Tony737 on March 11, 2007 at 4:22 PM
Let’s see JFK gave Americans a huge tax break and sent troops to battle a communist takeover of a struggling democracy in a foreign land. It’s obvious to me that JFK was a Republican.
Buzzy on March 11, 2007 at 4:23 PM
Like JFK, she expects mob and hollywierd support to get her elected. Unlike JFK, she’s so deeply hated, she has no real chance, unless the GOP strays too far from having a true conservative running against her.
stonemeister on March 11, 2007 at 4:23 PM
Then….
And Now….
Any questions?
PinkyBigglesworth on March 11, 2007 at 4:30 PM
So..she’s likening herself to Dan Quayle, lets ask her to spell..potatoe.
Speakup on March 11, 2007 at 4:32 PM
I knew they set the clock’s ahead so we can all stay ahead of her drivel.
bones47 on March 11, 2007 at 4:33 PM
Well, MOI sayz that MOI is like George Washington, but with better teeth.
However, instead of saying that I’m “first in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of my fellow men,” my wife is more likely to say “first in the bathroom with the Sunday paper.”
Y’all heard it here first.
georgej on March 11, 2007 at 4:36 PM
I thought she was the channel of Eleanor Roosevelt or is she Lady Thatcher of the senate ? ? She’s anyone and everyone . . . and she wants testicles.
Texyank on March 11, 2007 at 4:52 PM
Yeah, but JFK had a personality.
Oh, and his personality didn’t conjure up thoughts of a wet dishrag.
Dusty on March 11, 2007 at 4:54 PM
…and I’m Helen of Troy.
The sheer impertinence. I bet she wouldn’t have dared say this if Jacqueline would be alive. The lady would have immediately objected to such trash.
She would, gladly, but the far Left would squeal.
Compared to today’s leftie lot, JFK is getting better and better. He did have charisma and this woman has none, and will never have any, try hard as she’s coached to force on us.
These are much more serious times than voting for ‘idealisms’. We need Fred Thompson. Let’s call on him. Our country needs him badly, as JetBoy said on another thread.
Entelechy on March 11, 2007 at 4:55 PM
Did Hillary Clinton’s self-comparison with JFK include having promicuous affairs with multiple women?
Phil Byler on March 11, 2007 at 5:05 PM
It seems to me that if you have to go around telling people how smart, dynamic, and inspiring you are, you probably aren’t.
On the other hand, I’m totally not surprised by this. It’s pretty standard for Dem candidates to make a JFK comparison at some point, isn’t it?
Farmer_Joe on March 11, 2007 at 5:18 PM
America has no problem with a woman president….just not her.
ctmom on March 11, 2007 at 5:26 PM
She is more like John F. Kerry than John F. Kennedy.
BlueStateBlues on March 11, 2007 at 5:34 PM
I knew JFK, I worked with JFK, I saw JFK. Madame, you’re no JFK.
Defector01 on March 11, 2007 at 5:52 PM
An absolute insult to the legacy of President Kennedy, someone shouldve punched her in the mouth.
Viper1 on March 11, 2007 at 5:53 PM
I knew JFK and senator clinton you…. are no JFK………….
robo on March 11, 2007 at 5:53 PM
To compare yourself to JFK is not necessarily a positive thing. The two worst presidents in my lifetime were Bill Clinton and JFK, followed closely by Jimmy Carter. JFK would probably been impeached if he wad not been assassinated. Back then, people were not as tolerant and forgiving as they are now. Ethics, morals, and integrity are qualities that are lacking in the Clintons and the Kennedys.
DAT60A3 on March 11, 2007 at 6:05 PM
The comparison to a horses patoot albeit!
She’s a MAN BABY, A MAN!
Kini on March 11, 2007 at 6:29 PM
You mean she finally admits that part of her brain is missing?
- The Cat
P.S. Had too.
MirCat on March 11, 2007 at 6:30 PM
Why isn’t she comparing herself to WJC?

You win the thread.

Is this hillarys jump the shark moment?
csdeven on March 11, 2007 at 7:17 PM
Sure she is JFK (Just F—ing kidding)!
NEMETI IN SYRACUSE on March 11, 2007 at 7:22 PM
HRC is WEAK — and she is most certainly NOT a lady.
CyberCipher on March 11, 2007 at 7:35 PM
The only thing she may eventually have in common with JFK is a similar exit wound.
Coronagold on March 11, 2007 at 7:46 PM
For anyone else, yes, but you forget one thing my friend……
(Whisper)
The Clinton Waaaarrrrrr Roooooooooommmmmmmmm…….
Remember, it never closes, it never gets tired, it does not feel pain, it has no morality, it has plenty of cash from China, it has copies of FBI files on everybody, and they will never stop, EVER! Power for the sake of Power,( that and Bill Clinton left his favorite porn movie on Air Force One)…….
PinkyBigglesworth on March 11, 2007 at 7:49 PM
Well Hillary, which is it? You are like John or you are like Bobby? I seem to recall seeing your fat a$$ on David Letterman (right before he went in for problems with his heart, connection?) comparing yourself to Bobby when you were running for Senate.
Pick a Kennedy and stick with him.
CrimsonFisted on March 11, 2007 at 7:50 PM
Hmmmm.
Are you suggesting that she go through life
fat, drunk, and stupid — like Ted?
She can probably handle the fat and stupid part all by herself. Hey Hillary! Drinks are on me!
(What?! Just bein’ neighborly. That’s all.)
CyberCipher on March 11, 2007 at 8:33 PM
Hillary is comparing herself to J.F.K? That’s absurd.
Hillary is not a Catholic, she’s a Methodist. She has no military experience, unlike JFK who was a decorated war hero. She doesn’t believe that low taxes are good for the economy, unlike JFK who lowered taxes as President. She doesn’t believe that people should “Ask not what this country can do for you” and supports increasing the welfare state, just look at her proposal for universal (read: federalized) health care insurance for an example. She doesn’t believe in capitalism as she says she would “take the profits” of oil companies. This are just a few examples of the difference between her and JFK.
The ONLY way she is comparable to JFK is that her supporters would no doubt use voting fraud in an attempt to elect her.
RedinBlueCounty on March 11, 2007 at 9:11 PM
Hillary is America’s hemorrhoid.
Connie on March 11, 2007 at 9:14 PM
JFK was known for sleeping with loads of young women. Whereas Hilary…
uptight on March 11, 2007 at 9:53 PM
Comparing oneself to JFK is something it seems weak people often do when running for President.
Kralizec on March 11, 2007 at 10:10 PM
Speaking of JFK, what would have happened if rather than being martyred, his many affairs had been exposed resulting in impeachment at the height of the cold war? Especially given the mores of 1964 and his image as the “family man president?” I believe this scenario at the time would have constituted a bona-fide national security risk. Yet I’ve never heard this as a motivation for a gov’t conspiracy in the assassination. Sorry if this is OT. It’s what comes to mind when I think of Kennedy and the Clintons at the same time. I’m not saying this was the case, I just never heard this among the many theories before. Good President, but a major sex addict at a time when it was really not OK.
Buck Turgidson on March 11, 2007 at 10:18 PM
Hillary is more of a cross between Jimmy Carter and Hugo Chávez.
Maxx on March 11, 2007 at 10:39 PM
If “dynamic” means changing who you are to fit your audience, then, yeah, she’s dynamic as hell!
I wouldn’t vote for Hillary in a thousand years. If the GOP put a (barely) trained chimp up against her, I vote for a banana in every pot!
It’s not ’cause I’m a true-blue righty, and it’s not ’cause she’s a woman. (I still wish Condi would run against her.)
It’s because she’s Hillary Clinton: fake, bigoted, power-hungry, power-mad, shrill, poor-intentioned, conceited, delusional, hypocritical, dim……
I’d go on, but I think I’ve made my point. I could give examples of each assertion made in the paragraph above, but I’ll let you think up your own.
RedCrow on March 12, 2007 at 2:26 AM
She should read her history. About the only time the Catholic thing was brought up, was when he or his campain managers brought it up. People could care less if he was the “first Catholic”. Hell, his dad was a rum runner and made his fortune illegally. The public could have cared less. The Catholic thing kept the real issues off the table.
This was kept in front of the voting public: His looks, Jackie’s looks, Catholic, his accent, and “bumper sticker” statements, his youth, the first political thrust to grab the baby boomer market, promise to lower taxes, first to use TV and make-up.
Some of the things he did: Military service (Hillary, not); lower taxes (Hillary, not); use military to free a country (Hillary, not); secretly taping Martin Luther King and others (Hillary woulld),let our military and allies down at the Bay of Pigs (Hillary would).
Note:
Bay of Pigs is not where Hillary and the other leftist women swim. It refers to the failed invasion of Cuba
