now this is how a reporter should talk about OUR MILITARY and their mission over in Iraq. She is a fair reporter imo.

It’d be unconscionable for the United States to acquiesce in ethnic cleansing in a country whose security we’ve taken responsibility for; if you believe some on the left (and right), it’s unconscionable for us to acquiesce in ethnic cleansing even in countries whose security we’re not responsible for, like Sudan. When we leave, we have to leave with a good faith belief that the two sides can co-exist, which is why political reconciliation within parliament is so important and why we’re stuck there until it happens. If you take Kondracke seriously, the best solution might actually be to have the Air Force carpet-bomb Anbar: it’d solve the problem instantly, we’d get “credit for helping the Shiites win,” and it’d send a none-too-subtle message to Sadr that he’d best not antagonize us in the future. It would also send the Sunni countries in the Middle East into a frenzy, of course, and would mean the destruction of a part of Iraq where the leadership is, increasingly, unabashedly on our side and has taken the lead in fighting Al Qaeda — but of course, Shiite ethnic cleansing would accomplish the same things. That clip got plenty of play at the time from righty blogs simply due to the gawk factor involved in watching a reporter who’s more interested in winning the war than revisiting Bush’s mistakes.

That certainly was a jaw-dropping experience for me.

I really like her. I hope she can get a show.

I used to time my lunches to watch Rumsfeld’s briefings, especially during the major combat part of the war in Iraq.
Pam Hess used to be in that briefing and she was anything but objective. Her questions were ignorant, biased and combative for no reason. Rumsfeld slapped her down almost daily. I remember one in April or May of ‘03 about “cognitive dissonance” where Rumsfeld verbally smacked her around for being either obtuse or ignorant (my words, not his).

Then I noticed she no longer did those briefings.
Now, I see she’s done this. Perhaps her eyes were opened when she actually went to Iraq and saw for herself what was actually happening and who we are actually fighting.

Good for her.

Pamela went to Iraq, investigated the real world events taking place outside of the Green Zone, talked to the commanders on the ground, the grunts under their command, the Iraqi police and the Iraqi people. And she came away knowing we are doing the right thing in combating true evil, and she supports the Herculean task confronting our troops?

How dare her challenge the divine wisdom of the Democrat party and the MSM!

Oh, wait. I can’t say that. They support our troops too. I know this is true, because I heard them say so.
