Voted NO on prohibiting job discrimination by sexual orientation. (Sep 1996)

Wow. Pro discrimination in the workplace. At a time when most large publicly-owned companies were already spending millions on diversity training. Outstanding.

We need a show called “American President” using the American Idol format. Thousands of people all over America line up for auditions. Each week, America votes off a few of them.

Off Topic: I sent a tip to HotAir, but I don’t know if anyone has seen it. Fred Thompson is testing the waters for a possible ‘08 Presidential Run.

Over three months ago, wihle guest-hosting Paul Harvey's morning news, Fred said he would watch to see if a real conservative showed up to play, and if not he'd strongly consider it. I know it was posted here more than once.

Shhhh…skeleton in his closet.

But there's also Hunt for Red October, No Way Out, In the Line of Fire, Class Action, and even a funny voice part in Racing Stripes. So you can forgive a guy Iron Eagle III, or Days of Thunder, or even Necessary Roughness.

Hell with that - I want Gunny for press secratary! I’d love to see him get in touch with his inner drill seargent in front of the WH press corps :))

Abso ..#$%&.. lutely.

Hmmm, Thompson/Tancredo, I've said it before. Pray folks, it works. And while we're dreaming big, I'll take Rudy for Attorney General, since that's his real area of excellence; Newt for State, Brownback for Defense. McCain can be Secretary of Transportation, he can pretend to run a branch of the military (no offense to any mud-ducks about). And how about Michael Steele for U.N. ambassador? Oh, Romney can have the Treasury Dept.

There's a local newspaper blogger ... err, rather a blogger that works for the local paper? Anyway, he's running All Fred, All the Time posts right now.

He covered Thompson's campaign in '94, and met his wife during that time ... oh, and he also thinks he'd make a swell Prez. It's pretty good, in-depth and informative coverage.

Love the idea of a President Fred Thompson, but could we have Dennis Miller or Ron Silver as VP and put R. Lee Ermey in as either SecDef or White House Press Secretary (even better!) or put Drew Carey as Press secretary and Tom Selleck as Secretary of State...
Seriously, Thompson has great Conservative bona fides and he has a great image as a "kicking ass and taking names" kind of guy.
Just what we need!
(Newt's a loser. Sorry NWTR. As a woman, I can't forgive his piggish behavior to his first wife and then there's his other indiscretions that caused him to resign as Speaker.
When you're the Republican speaker of the House and you've just ushered in a new day with a Republican majority as he did, you have to be like Caesar's wife--above reproach--and Newt was hardly that.
For this he blew not only his position of power but his moral authority in confronting the corrupt Clintons Administration.
You just don't get second chances after that, in my book.
But by running, he will put a spotlight on Conservative values and get all the other GOP candidates to focus on that.)

Has La Clinton ever polled over 50% in any poll? I don't think so. She peaked back in 1992..before her "universal healthcare" was surgically dismantled by Rush and other conservatives.

You can’t bash Clinton for his womanizing and then come up with lame excuses for Republicans such as Giuliani and Gingrich who do the same.

I don't recall bashing Clinton for his womanizing, or anyone else for that matter. Clinton's blatant PERJURY was at issue. I don't think womanizing should be THE issue of our time during this time. We need someone who's been around the block, has major experience, and knows how to trudge through the quagmire of political BS. Gingrich is the man.
Liberals always try to make it about Clinton's messing around with the intern. It was about his lying under oath. Something they find hideous when it has to do with Libby, apparently.

You think the open borders, NAU, Trans-Texas Corridor supporters think Giuliani is their man? Things are looking bleak. Don't let this man win!

Via WND:

An Australian investment consortium that leases and operates U.S. toll roads has acquired Republican Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani's Giuliani Capitol Advisors.

It's the latest acquisition by Macquarie, which has been investing in leasing and running U.S. toll roads for some time and recently has branched out into other industries, including the purchase of American Consolidated Media, which publishes 40 community newspapers and shopping publications in nine Texas and Oklahoma communities, for $80 million.

The Macquarie Group, with some $140 billion under management worldwide, has been an active player in the move to lease U.S. highways to foreign investment capital firms.
The Federal Highway Administration has documented that Macquarie is a major player in the public-private partnerships that the FHWA is promoting as a future means of developing U.S. highway infrastructure.

According to the FHWA, Macquarie has already participated in the leasing of the Chicago Skyway and the Indiana Toll Road.

Sal Costello, founder of TexasTollParty.com and a vocal critic of the Texas Department of Transportation, plans to build the Trans-Texas Corridor toll road parallel to Interstate 35. He told WND Giuliani "has to be viewed as just another PPP multi-national opportunist willing to sell out to an international toll road company that seeks to benefit financially at the expense of the taxpayer."
Costello said he sees Giuliani preparing to focus on his presidential campaign, and he is concerned Macquarie is the investment firm Giuliani chose as an acquisition partner.
"Cutting deals and profiting tens of millions from one of the world's largest toll road conglomerates has to be considered 'getting tight' in any circle," Costello told WND.

"How many billions of dollars worth of our public highways will be converted to toll roads leased by foreign investment firms under a President Giuliani?" Costello asked.

An Australian investment consortium that leases and operates U.S. toll roads has acquired Republican Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani’s Giuliani Capitol Advisors.

It’s the latest acquisition by Macquarie, which has been investing in leasing and running U.S. toll roads for some time and recently has branched out into other industries, including the purchase of American Consolidated Media, which publishes 40 community newspapers and shopping publications in nine Texas and Oklahoma communities, for $80 million.

The Gallup poll article linked in this post entitled Mitt Romney Still Unknown to Many Republicans does some odd things with the presentation of the stats.

They group Gore, Clinton, and Edwards as Moderately Well-Liked and categorize Romney Alone as the breaks-even candidate which seems very arbitrary considering the unfavorable/favorable ratios they're using. McCain, the least Very-Well-Liked candidate, has a ratio of 0.44 (unfavorable/favorable). John Edwards's ratio is 0.55 much closer to McCain than to Gore (0.71) and Clinton (0.78). Clinton is only 0.05 distant from Romney (0.83) but 0.23 from Edwards. Gore is only 0.12 from Romney, but 0.16 from Edwards.

Another oddity is in the favorability rating trend contrast between Romney and Barack. Between Feb 2007 and March, both improved their favorability with the general public, 5%. But the authors imply Barack is doing much better improving favorability with voters than Romney. But considering that Romney's recognition stats, a 5% increase of favorability means that, among people who recognize him well enough to response favorably or unfavorably, his favorability increase 28% during that period. Barack only improved his favorability 9% among his group.

Finally someone is listening to Jack Ryan. "No need to defuse a bomb that's already gone off." I was quoting that one several times when talking about Clinton and what he should have done.

Prosecutor in rape case: Do you have sex outside of marrage?

BJ Clinton: All the freaking time, so why would I need to force anyone into it?

Problem solved

Ken Star: Did you have an affair with an intern.

Clinton: I rocked her world.

Ken Star: Do you feel that was wrong.

Clinton: Have you seen her? It was charity.

Problem solved

- The Cat

P.S. I would back Fred. I mean the guy showed strong leadership durring the airport crisis. Speaking of leadership, the guy skippered an aircraft carrier for crying out loud! *whipser whipser* What do you mean they were just parts?
