This war is a disaster only because the media portrays it that way. We have lost remarkably few and had many successes. We have yet to lose a single military engagement, we have removed a horrible dictator and given the Iraqi people more freedom than most ever dreamed of having. The country by and large is peaceful with most of the violence centered around Bhagdad. But you will never see a story in the MSM or hear any Dem talking head say anything other than that we are losing and probably can’t win.

I supported all this in the beginning. I know Saddam was a terrible dictator. The Iraqis voted in an election, they have a government. The president of Iraq said the US troops can leave by June of this year. So, we should be taking him up on his offer. The Iraqis don’t want us there anymore. We gave them their chance and now they have to take it. They have to have their civil war, we should just get out of the way and let them have it.

Does it not occur to you that this is our war? By engaging the terrorists there we have keep them from being able to focus efforts here.

If they were able to get here and attack us they would. We got sucker punched on 9/11 but security has been tightened since. They couldn’t do 9/11 again now the way things are set up. America has the biggest air force and navy and the middle east is on the other side of the world. Give some weapons to our friends the Kurds and the democratic Iraqi govenment so that they can eliminate the terrorists themselves, and we can leave by June like the president of Iraq himself says. Yes they will have to kill some Sunnis (terrorists) because the Sunnis (mostly ex-Baathists) started it and have been sheltering Al Qaeda in Iraq. The Sunnis provoked this. You can’t win a war if you won’t fight as hard as the bad guys. We are being too humane to win. If we’re not going to fight to win, better to step aside and let the Iraqis themselves do it.

The fact that some wingnut lefties oppose the war should not obscure the fact that this war has been a disaster.

Outside of the revelotionary and civil wars what war have we ever fought it that was ours? Only the Japanese directly attacked us in WW II and yet we fought the Germans and the Italians in Europe.
Our country has a proud history of fighting when the cause is just, regardless of whose war it is.

They wanted change, but not the kind you think they wanted. Just you wait. The American electorate is pretty naive but it is not completely stupid and definitely not suicidal. President Thompson sounds very good…Nevada decision, big mistake. I’m a registered independent.

The point of US and Coalition involvement now is to help the Iraqi people stop the killing and live in relative peace, just as we do here in America. That wouldn’t be possible if we pull out now. We must stay and help these people as they are now our allies and we DO NOT abandon allies.

But of course we are talking about the communist left, who until now, have only been interested in tearing down every Cross they see. I do not advocate hate crime laws, but this is not a protest, this is a hate crime.

For those of you here, like me, who were in the military between 69-79 I’ll bet you a hundred bucks that your dress greens/whites/blues are hanging in your closet, cleaned, pressed, wrapped in a plastic bag. And I’ll bet you never take them out of that closet. The sons-o-bitches have no RIGHT to LOOK at em. These men and woman who serve today…..they are going to have them in their closets too. Never to be worn. Not even in a Vet’s Day parade. Why? Because some of the people they served could not only could care less but went out of their way to make sure we KNEW we were less-then-human. Allah would boot my Irish fanny if I were typing what I actually think of their sorry lives.

March 17th. If you can’t be there then please at least fly your flag. 08 is going to be our sons and daughters 68 unless we stand up NOW. I can’t tell you how much it means.

Your comment is a good example of why i don’t vote Libertarian anymore. Hillary Clinton is stronger on national security than the Libertarian party, that’s how much of a joke that party has become. You Libertarians just stick to getting pot legalized, it’s what you’re good at.

Because in actuality they could give a rat’s ass about the troops, other than as pawns to be exploited to further their political agenda. They’d be gleefully spitting on our servicemembers every chance they got, just like in the Vietnam era, if they thought they could get away with it. But you knew that.

Taking an hour out of work to see the crowd was worth it, since I won’t get any closer to DC for this event. That large a crowd is sure to have some knuckleheads, but by and large it will be made up of decent, hardworking, charitable, considerate Americans. (just occured to me, that descriptive should be redundant)

The jokers who will use any brickbat within their reach, to include the names of the courageous fallen, are just exactly the opposite. Mostly vulgar and indecent, mostly selfish and inconsiderate. Not patriots, barely Americans.
