He was an inspiration to meet at CPAC. I only wish the Pentagon would allow his very material, very logical suggestions to become part of the “play book” on this increasingly scatterbrained war effort.
If we didn’t have the will to fight this war, we should never have started it. It is becoming more and more apparent that we did—and DO—NOT.
Major Egland should run for President. His left boot would do a better job than any of the ponies in the race so far.
I can’t wait to get this book. Sure it’s OK to send care packages but most Americans want to contribute substantial support for the troops, not just feel good support.
Go to the Gathering of Eagles next Saturday in DeeCee and overpower the lefty traitors to the extent that the national media can’t ignore it!
I just can’t believe that the seditious traitors, that we politely call democrats, and their main stream media allies have been able to make the inroads that they have with the average American. It bodes poorly for the future of this Country.
I’m a recently retired Air Force officer, and this Major is indicative of the type of people I worked with for twenty years. He’s smart, well-spoken, patriotic, solution-oriented, and dedicated to his mission. The American people should hear from these courageous and intelligent young men and women. They should be on camera and radio every day. Who better to express our mission, our obstacles, and our achievements than military members directly involved.
The more attention we pay to success the more we will enjoy.
I definitely do not agree with Major Egland with regard to the impact that the liberal bias of the mainstream media has on the war effort.
The media, with it’s liberal bias, is an aid and comfort to the enemy in so many ways, not the least of which is support for domestic, and international, political opposition to successful accomplishment of the mission. The enemy calculates their success in many instances not on military objectives but on the influence it will have on our politcal resolve to carry the effort through to victory. I do not believe that Major Egland has a complete understanding of how important the will to win, domestic morale, and international support has on the war effort, and is negatively influenced by liberal media bias.
The Vietnam War gave an example of where liberal media bias can lead to, definite lack of support for the military in a time of war. Major Egland is too young to have experienced such treatment but there are many who remember it well - and the contributing factors that brought it to fruition.
“Gathering of Eagles” - March 17th at the Vietnam Memorial. Show your support in person to counter the anti war march and help protect our national monuments from vandalism by some of those that wish to cause trouble. The Eagles are there to peacefully preserve our national heritage and to show that there are Americans that truly support our fightng men and women.
Ordering his book as soon as this post is done…..
I’m hopeful that Petraeus will be the type to make some of this happen, if not, let’s slap some stars on Egland and turn him loose.
Don’t worry about General Petraeus. A brainy Major Egland, an expert in counter-terrroism, fits in quite well with how a brainy General Petraeus (Ph.D. Princeton), the expert on counter-terrorism, works.
I feel that the “Vent” is getting better and better all the time. Awesome MM. I will buy his book and I also have a sense that Maj England dosen’t really understand the impac that the MSM has on the viewing population. There is a huge negative if you talk to people who only watch MSM and don’t go onto Fox or blogs or other venues. To me I wonder and ask them directly ” How can you make a descion based on pure bias? ” They think and shrug when it all gets boiled down. Ignorance is Alive and well in the USA.Our enemy knows it too.
Thanks to MM, Brian, and the rest for another good blog.
The choice of news and information you provide indicates you hope to influence your audience to participate and help make this a better country. Thanks again.
I followed the link and read his common sense recommendations. And made a small contribution through their “DONATE” link. I may buy the book later.
Sometimes I do not do anything because the contributions I make are so small they probably will not make any difference.
Then I stop and think. If only 10% of the audience that agrees with conservative ideals would put aside or donate only $10 a month for projects such as Eglands or for the campaigns of suitable conservative political candidates - it would be enough to make a difference. Most of us waste more than that each month.
The reduction in taxes from electing a bono fide conserevative majority would return such an investment many times over.
Blowback

Yep… our military is having to fight a two front war…
One against the enemy in Iraq…
One against the surrender monkeys here at home…
Hard to win a two front war.
