You wouldn’t necessarily get it from this article, but the Wahabbist fanatics in the Magic Kingdom have been systematically destroying Mecca for decades in the interest of stamping out “idolatry”
Tancredo’s dream of nuking Mecca is coming true, the mullahs are doing it for us.

Do I understand this correctly? All Muslims, all over the planet will, five times a day, turn and face Mecca, and bow down to a SHOPPING MALL?

Poetic justice…capitalism creeping in and sucking the life out of the object of their affection.

Las Vegas has huge thriving Mormon, Catholic, and Evangelical communities. The LDS temple is on the east side and as of yet, not one slot machine has been installed, nor has there been a call to tear down the strip clubs.

I guess those of the Judeo-Christian based faiths need to learn a lot more from the “religion of peace”.

Progress has exacted a heavy price on Mecca. The city’s once famed night market, where pilgrims brought their wares to sell, is gone.

Not gone, just replaced with modern buildings which also operate at night.. It’s progress and I’m sure that the pilgrims like the higher quality and better security that the new shopping centers allow.
