Audio: Laura Ingraham takes on CNN’s John Roberts

posted at 2:00 pm on March 8, 2007 by Bryan

CNN ran a bias-filled John Roberts package on the Libby conviction last night, complete with ominous music, unnamed Republican sources and even talk of an “exorcism.” Laura Ingraham persuaded Roberts to explain the story on her show today, where she did a pretty good job deconstructing CNN’s antics. Laura Ingraham vs. a Ken doll? Won’t be pretty.

Naaaahhh. The media isn’t biased left. No agenda there. Seriously, they aren’t even trying to pretend to be honest. Thats just an ideal example of the current state of jounalism. Where have all the real journalists gone? What a terrible loss for the Country.

On an unrelated note. Just read this on Drudge. Send it to all your friends panicking about Global Warming:

I think John Roberts is a faggot.

Here’s another one for you “separated at birth” fans.

You know he’s bad.

I give Roberts credit for one thing: He had the b@lls to come on a Conservative talk show, and defend his report. His colleagues have big strong opinions, then when they’re asked to support them, hide under rocks.

amerpundit on March 8, 2007 at 3:07 PM

I’ve always considered Roberts as Dan Rather Jr. He thought he was the legitimate heir to the CBS toilet throne, and then Perkie Katie burst onto the scene.

He exhibits the same smarmy charm at CNN as Miles O’Brien, which is just another reason why I can’t watch the daily bias dished out on that “news” channel.

What’s the big deal about releasing your Republican source’s name John? I don’t think he’s protecting a source, he probably doesn’t have one. If he does, the source must be a traitor to his own party because, a], he/she provides derogatory ammunition to CNN, and b] CNN protects his/her identity.

So the “source” either doesn’t exist, or the source is a RINO. CNN’s journalistic code of conduct justifies using either option in their persistent pusuit of bringing down Bush/Cheney.

i wish we got the ingraham show here in tampa :(

Man, John Roberts has SEVERE anchorman’s hair.

Gottafang on March 8, 2007 at 3:29 PM

You all know that John Roberts used to be JD at CITY-TV in Toronto, right???

shaken on March 8, 2007 at 3:32 PM

Hmmm.

That was a pretty empty defense:

#1 John Roberts chose “Unatributed Republican Source” rather than get an atributable quote from any of the thousands of republican strategists willing to speak on the record about how this was a sham trial, Libby was denied testimony, and there was no underlying crime.

#2 That music… hell, why not play Liberi Fatali during all republican-related news stories
Or perhaps the Star Wars Imperial March?

#3 Then John Roberts doesn’t even defend his story’s slant, just states that the rest of the coverage was supposed to balance it out… alas, no one I know saw this supposed “Balancing coverage” and if it is played out of context BY CNN, then either he needs to go to CNN and tell them not to do that (Yeah right.) OR He needs to be less heavy handed because he’s on notice that CNN will not make an effort to keep his stories in context.

So yeah. My distrust of CNN continues.

I remember when John Roberts was a reporter on WBBM-the CBS affiliate (? spelling-just got back to the mainland and clock is still messed up)in Chicago. He was good then but now he’s a jerk. I do give him credit for showing up. He had to know Laura would mop the floor with him. I hope she plays in Augusta, GA, she was tape delayed by almost 12 hours in HI but at least they had her show.

Speaking of cable news anchors, I love Alex Witt on MSNBC. I know, I know–I’m not supposed to watch Satan’s network, but Alex Witt is absolutely hot. She’s a total fox. And, based on some of the questions she’s asked in her pieces, I suspect she leans to the conservative side of things.

Ok, I feel better now.

jaleach on March 8, 2007 at 3:55 PM

HAHAHA. Awwwww, poor Laura! Sounds like she’s a bit ticked that a senior republican advisor carries more weight than the people she thinks are representitive of the party.

Blame yourself Laura! You piled on top of this Ann Coulter bashing, refusing to give Ann’s side of this and whole heartedly embracing the liberals side of the issue, and now you’re surprised that the MSM gives creedence to one side of the Libby issue? What’s wrong Laura? He didn’t ask for your take on it?

HA!

“JD” Roberts is a lightweight. He was a DJ on MuchMusic. Not a smart guy-just a dude who liked to have bouffant hair and interview rock stars. FEH.

Hugh Hewitt is on vacation so they are running a series of shows where he grilled MSM reporters on bias. Helen Thomas hung up on him. So did “pollster” James Zogby.

rokemronnie on March 8, 2007 at 4:38 PM

Apart from the fact that Roberts had the moxie to go on the show, maybe I’m nuts, but it sounded to me as though he listens to Laura Ingrahm´s programme.

Blaise on March 8, 2007 at 5:03 PM

John Roberts. . . Wasn’t he a failure at CBS ?
Now a failure at CNN… He should kiss Cheneys feet
for keeping us basically attack free since 9/11

Texyank on March 8, 2007 at 5:42 PM

So, according to John, the republican source says that “this is another black eye” for the the Bush administration. All the rest, like the “exorcism” crap, was made up by John for melodramatic reasons.

I think Laura Ingraham is HOT! Just don’t tell my wife I said that, I hate sleeping on the couch.

RedinBlueCounty on March 8, 2007 at 6:05 PM

How can we even discuss this.

It is obvious that the prosecutor should be disbarred and that the judge should be impeached.

This is the kind of absolute misuse of the system that make everyone very concerned.

duff65 on March 8, 2007 at 6:37 PM

A “jury of your peers” ?? in D.C.?? and you are a Republican?? Good luck.

Thanks for posting that link, brtex. I think I actually witnessed that exchange. A few others, too. If she’s really a conservative, my heart won’t be able to take it!

MSNBC often runs a promo when Alex is on showing her taking her kids to a baseball game. I watch for it on the weekends in the morning just so I can enjoy a few more precious glimpses of her lovely face. No one is hotter than Alex, not even Contessa Brewer.

Ok, I’m starting to sound like a stalker, so I’ll stop.

jaleach on March 8, 2007 at 8:05 PM

John Roberts, Journalist……. Propagandist…….

PinkyBigglesworth on March 8, 2007 at 9:31 PM

I finally had a chance to listen to the audio – I think John Roberts was polite and did just fine. I blame the conservative media whore who doesn’t have the balls to identify himself. What a wuss! And what service to his party! Just in the name of ‘being liked by CNN’.

Entelechy on March 8, 2007 at 10:57 PM

Oh yeah, sure John, and I have a “freind” who is a big Democratic advisor who says Pelosi is really a tool for the Jihadis.

Like you, he will only keep sourcing me as long as I don’t out him. Yeah, I know this is hearsay, but following your logic line I should be able to *report* it as fact.
