Leg-ache: Cheney being treated for blood clot in calf

Ace is already on it. The news broke half an hour ago yet there’s still no link on HuffPo’s otherwise rapidly updated front page. They’re probably waiting while the comment moderators scramble to their battle stations.

Update: It’s probably for the best.

Retire Chaney appoint Steele

Wade on March 5, 2007 at 4:19 PM

Agreed.

amerpundit on March 5, 2007 at 4:21 PM

Oooo… Steele.

spmat on March 5, 2007 at 4:24 PM

I hope the clot gets to his brain and he ends up being a vegetable.

This is for all of the liberal bloggers here that are rushed for time. You can just link and say ditto.

Lol, did I call it or did I call it AP?

RightWinged on March 5, 2007 at 4:25 PM

But if they don’t have comments how are we supposed to have any fun?

Huffpoo may be pretending that they aren’t rooting for the blood clots, but there’s always Kos, Dumbass Underground, and pretty much every other liberal blog to give us ammunition.

That’s the problem, the MSM gave a little coverage to their hate for once (though didn’t note that it was par for the course), so the liberals are a little gun shy now.

Hell, I’m going to question the timing. Cheney is clearly putting out a false report attempting to draw the liberal haters out in hopes that moderates will tilt back to the right while running from the left.

RightWinged on March 5, 2007 at 4:30 PM

what about, VP Newt?

Cheney is a good VP, our enemies are scared to death of him.

jp on March 5, 2007 at 4:32 PM

God bless the Vice Pesident. He is running neck to neck with Donald Rumsfeld for my presidential write-in vote in 2008.

Wow. Is there anything that Dick Cheney can’t do?
He may be a RINO but he sure is smart.

billy on March 5, 2007 at 4:43 PM

I recall people rooting for the clot when Nixon suffered a bout of phlebitis. A random search turned up a shrink who thought the phlebitis was psychosomatic. Not all the way to rooting for the clot, but I’m sure with more time we could turn that up, too.

Attila (Pillage Idiot) on March 5, 2007 at 4:46 PM

Breaking news! Maybe the View will cover it!!!?

Jim Treacher on March 5, 2007 at 5:09 PM

I wonder what Bill Mahre is thinking…….. hmmmmmm?

PinkyBigglesworth on March 5, 2007 at 5:14 PM

Why are they so afraid to open the comments at HuffPost? She can just blame any vituperation on Michelle, Hannity, Rush, and LGF.

JammieWearingFool on March 5, 2007 at 5:19 PM

Dick Cheney is so scary, he curdles his own blood!

I hope he’ll be all right.

Kralizec on March 5, 2007 at 5:49 PM

Deep venous thrombosis.

My grandmother has that condition and she ended up losing her foot due to the poor circulation. I hope his treatments work and I wish him the best.

Let the haters and filth mongers being baring their “souls” so America can watch the stuff they huff spew out.

sharinlite on March 5, 2007 at 6:22 PM

that’s bearing their souls…

geez, speed kills!

sharinlite on March 5, 2007 at 6:23 PM

Nothing at the HuffPost as of yet. I guess Arianna “The plane was going that way anyhow” Huffington has learned a lesson.

Said lesson will probably only be remembered for about a month.

Hmmm, Steele, Rummy, Newt. Very interesting. I was thinkin’ about Condi. The VP spot would allow her to back to playing “Bad Cop” again.

Tony737 on March 5, 2007 at 8:06 PM

Well, Glad they caught it before it had a chance do do more.

God Bless Dick Cheney. He’s the most competent man in D.C.; I don’t want anyone replacing him.
And if it should unfortunately become absolutely necessary, I’d want it to be Donald Rumsfeld. {evil grin} (although Steele would also be acceptable to me.)

LegendHasIt on March 5, 2007 at 8:15 PM

Good luck and Godspeed to Cheney, thrombosis not exactly anything to mess with.
As for Bill Maher, how would you like to have to live in his head? It would be like living in a diamondback rattler’s skull.
We have the men we need (or deserve?)for the times we have to live through.

If a choice has to be made, I’m thinking R. Giuliani.

Entelechy on March 6, 2007 at 12:10 AM

My geology professor thinks this is hilarious. He said Cheney should be treated at Walter Reed.

bookwurm322 on March 6, 2007 at 4:58 PM

We can rebuild him… we have the technology.
