The hand of Mel Gibson— it’s EVERYWHERE!

Nethicus on March 3, 2007 at 11:14 PM

Do we blame this on the rednecks? The half-sheep, half-man creature; the guy who just sheared one saying “you wouldn’t understand”; you know…just sorta screams for a redneck joke.

thedecider on March 3, 2007 at 11:30 PM

You’re working overtime tonight, Allah -
I’m single too….

I’ll never look a a leg of roast lamb the same again….

If we could only create a hybrid for goats and donkeys we would have the ultimate weapon in the Middle East.

We wouldn’t have to send a single soldier in harms way.

All we would have to do is train the animals to recognize the difference from the wolves and the sheepdogs. This would be most difficult as the American sheep cannot do so today!

The goat/donkey (gonkey?) thing would be great in mountainous regions. What about the flat desert? How about a poisonous snake crossed with a camel? We could call it a snamel. It can go for days without water and its poisonous bite would kill the terrorists.

I may. Additionally, I may also pause and reflect upon the great effort it now required to prepare such a meal. Either way I shall enjoy it.

Violence, of the lambs!

unfrigginbelievable … man eating killer sheep? SHEEP? It almost looked like it was trying to be a serious plot in that trailer.

…please tell me that’s a parody

SilverStar830 on March 4, 2007 at 1:23 AM

Ah yes New Zealand. One of the few places on earth where the sheep outnumber the people.

The good ol’ U.S.A. has a place like that. Anyone care to guess? It’s called Wyoming. Sorta’ goes a long way towards explaining that whole Dick Cheney shotgun thing, dontchathink?

CyberCipher on March 4, 2007 at 1:27 AM

This should kick arse. Until someone spoils it by complaining of it’s ‘blatant left-wing bias’ or until O’Reilly complains about it being another ‘horror snuff film’..

Still, it’d be nice to see another Australasian movie to be as good as ‘Undead’ from a few years back

Poor New Zealand, first Sauron and his faithful nazguls, now this…

Zorro on March 4, 2007 at 6:52 AM

Send those sheep to Sparta! To fight!

Freelancer on March 4, 2007 at 6:57 AM

Hmmmm … I read “Black Sheep” … and was expecting misfit Marine Corps fighter pilots … Corsairs … Nip Zeros … Pappy … WW2 dog fights over the Pacific. (sigh)

Tony737 on March 4, 2007 at 7:20 AM

I thought Black Sheep was a Chris Farley movie.

danarchy on March 4, 2007 at 7:30 AM

Reminds me of old-school Peter Jackson!

BAD TASTE FTW!!!

We sure wouldn’t want to mention PETA complaining about the movie uh? You had to go political on it uh?

If you want to see a good movie, check out this trailer! Here’s the official website for the movie.

WHY are the sheep angry?

csdeven on March 4, 2007 at 9:03 AM

Oh, that was enjoyable, I LOVED it! Best laugh I’ve had in a while.

crazy delicious

Yes..it was!

jjjen on March 4, 2007 at 9:31 AM

“What are you doing in here?”

“Gettin’ my ‘wool’ on.”

WHY are the sheep angry?

csdeven on March 4, 2007 at 9:03 AM

“We’re as mad as H*ll and we’re not going to be sheared anymore!”

OR

“This time the knee boot’s on the other foot…er, hoof!”
(It’s a West virginia thing, you might not understand)

TugboatPhil on March 4, 2007 at 9:38 AM

WETA Workshop are the same ones that did the Lord of the Ring movies. It looks like it will pretty funny in a violent yet campy way.

Hurrah, soon as I saw AP’s Shaun of the Dead reference I was expecting him to link to a trailer of this; then I forgot the name of that particular film. So ta for that, I saw the trailer once and I must see that film

I don’t think PETA would complain about black sheep… well, until the man-eating merinos get shot at by the humans..

Reaps on March 4, 2007 at 10:36 AM

Hehe, I forgot to mention that the first thing that ran through my mind when I watched the trailer was the beginning of the Black Sheep Squadron theme song -

We are poor little lambs

who have lost their way

baa, baa, baa

(It’s a bar — it used to be busy, but the night has grown long, and most customers have left. In the corner, well past the 3 round limit they set at the beginning of the night, sit two men.)

Man A: Anything.
Man B: Anything? Come on. Not anything.
A: Yeah — I can make $10 million with any subject matter.
B: I just don’t buy that. The audience will be picky.
A: The Audience is sheep. Sheep, man.
B: Sheep?
A: Sheep.
B: What about sheep?
A: It’s the audience, man.
B: No — what about a movie all about sheep. (slams his hand down on the table) A horror movie about sheep!
A: It could be done.
B: The hell it could. That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard.
Peter Jackson: I’ll bet you 75% of the profits that I can do it.
Mel Gibson: You’re on.

There be a lot of sheep in Utah and for some reason the herders HELP sheep over the fence.

That reminds me of a joke. This is your content warning for those of you offended by extreme forms of animal love.

Last chance…..

A traveler comes across a sheep herder setting up camp for the night. To trade off for a meal and lodging the traveler claims he can speak to the herders horse and dog. The herder agrees and proceeds to astonish the herder when the horse neighs and taps out the fact that the herder has been feeding him moldy oats. He is convinced further when it is revealed through barking and whining that the dog is over-worked and under apperciated. When the traveler offers to speak to the sheep, the herder says….

“Don’t listen to the sheep!! The sheep LIE!!

csdeven on March 4, 2007 at 10:43 AM

Sheep turning on man? The only question is, why did it take so long?

We eat them, shear them, in certain parts of the world–desperate men ,uh, have their way with them, we even clone them. We use their name to signify cowardice, easily maunipulate.

How much can an ungulate take….

honora on March 4, 2007 at 1:33 PM

It is a black comedy. And from the early reviews I heard for it, it’s supposed to be pretty funny. I have a warped sense of humor (taking a peek at my DVD collection sometime would give you a hint), and I liked “Shaun of the Dead”, so this is something right up my alley that I can drag hubby to just so he can shake his head at me and say, “You’re weird.” :)

A scottish comedianne, cute, redheaded, can’t remember her name, once stated…

“The Irish say we are screwing the sheep, We say that it’s the Irish that are screwing the sheep. I think it’s the SHEEP who are the Sluts!”

Mazztek on March 4, 2007 at 3:19 PM

I’ll see this

An Irish friend of mine once explained how Wellies (those rubber boots, think that’s what they’re called) are used for romancing the livestock.

I believe Guinness was involved in this conversation.

honora on March 4, 2007 at 4:05 PM

Well sooner or later it had to happen. Scare movies have used snakes, ants, frogs, birds, giant crabs, tommatos, rats and lots of other stuff. I think its only fair that sheep get their turn.

Maxx on March 4, 2007 at 9:33 PM

Ever since that sheep got blasted by the rocket in BAD TASTE, those Kiwi Sheep have been out for revenge.

Mibrilane on March 5, 2007 at 12:16 AM

the guy who just sheared one saying “you wouldn’t understand”;

Best part was the cigarette. That was priceless. The ‘violence of the lambs’. OMG. I wish I had thought of that. Now THAT’S a good cheesy horror movie. None of this SAW crap. Good old fashioned farm animal/human mutilation. Need a way to keep your kids from asking you to take them to the petting zoo? Show them this clip. They won’t leave the house until they’re out of college.
