Oh, that 40 mm system? Those are grenades that can be fired at 4000 ( four thousand per SECOND). I'm not kidding, go watch the vids.

Go to the video galleries here on the Discovery ch.

Here is what we should be using:

The new array: one and two

Make sure you look at Metal Storm in the first one. A million rounds a minute or remote controlled 40 MM system.

Done!

Matticus Finch: "I question the timing."

Why?

Do you honestly question it or is this a dig at liberals?

Just curious.

At that ratio, you’d think the locals would have started bumping them off themselves.

Let's hope they do. The sooner the local populace decides to fight in their own fight the better the whole country will be.

I can't help but wonder ... if that large bunch that got beat up yesterday in that town outside Fallujah came from Ramadi. If so, maybe we are taking advantage of a bit of a power vaccum left by some serious casualties taken by the insurgents and filling that vacuum before they have a chance to replace those losses.

Our forces always had the power and the will, they just needed to be turned loose by the weak-kneed politicians. Vacillating only gave our allies reason to doubt us and our enemies time to get stronger--especially with the enemedia and the rest of the liberals acting as a willing fifth column and rooting for our defeat since the war started. But hitting the terrorists hard like this has the exact opposite effect--it shows our allies that we're serious, so they think more about building a functioning Iraq and less about covering their asses when we cut and run the way they've feared we would. (And like all but the few sane Democrats have wanted us to do all along.) Taking the gloves off either kills our enemies or gives them a powerful incentive to rethink their course of action--and that includes bad actors like Iran and Syria.

...60 jihadis estimated in a neighborhood of 15,000 residences. At that ratio, you’d think the locals would have started bumping them off themselves.

The first thing that popped into my mind: Human nature? 4,000 teen/subteen Khmer Rouge managed to evict 3,000,000 people from Phnom Penh in 1975.

We will win Anbar, thanks to our President, our military, and brave Iraqis. Great news to end a great Friday.

Clearing houses, door to door and room by room is dangerous work. A great read if you're interested in the Battle of Fallujah: "We Were One". U.S. Marines vs Jihadis on heroine. Our boys had to clear every house and fight jihadis who were all drugged up. It took several shots to put these koranimals down for good, just like Tony Montana at the end of "Scarface".

Dear God, please bless and protect those brave young Americans who fight to free your children from tyranny and oppression.

Colonel Harry Riley who is heading the "Gathering of Eagles" at the Wall on March 17 seems to have nailed it.(From FrontPage interview)

"Col. Riley is one of the organizers of the national counter-protest Gathering of Eagles, a veterans group of Americans who will gather in Washington, D.C. on March 17 at the Vietnam Memorial Wall to serve as a counter-demonstration to an anti-war rally there on that day. The Gathering of Eagles will act to block any anti-war protestors who try to desecrate, damage or dishonor the Memorial Wall.

The Gathering of Eagles calls out to all Americans to come help on March 17. Those interested should visit the website at www.gatheringofeagles.org and/or contact Col. Riley at hmriley@cox.net.

FP: What is your angle on how the Iraq war has been handled?

Riley: The Iraq war was won quickly; the problem was a bumbling clean-up. The follow-on was handled poorly, politics as usual got in the way of practical decision making. In my opinion, the Bush Administration had poor advisors, made faulty assumptions, fell into the trap that wars can be won on the cheap, fooled around too long cutting tentacles off the octopus rather than hitting the brain, and worried too much about "world opinion".

We should have been much tougher with Syria and Iran, maybe even bombing their military sites, industrial, nuclear sites. Instead we are viewed as weak, indecisive, and are paying the price in blood and lives. American leaders have not learned the valuable lesson that war must be approached with decisive force, and the enemy, wherever he is, must be pursued, confronted and destroyed. Anything short is a betrayal of the warriors sent into harm's way.

And check this out!

FP: Your thoughts on the illegal immigration issue?

Riley: Illegal immigration should speak for itself -- it's illegal. If I violate the laws, I answer with some form of consequence -- not given free medical care, social security, and a ticket to citizenship.

FP: Your thoughts on the illegal immigration issue?

Riley: Illegal immigration should speak for itself — it’s illegal. If I violate the laws, I answer with some form of consequence — not given free medical care, social security, and a ticket to citizenship.

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

a dozen local tribes who say they’ve had enough of militants whose stated goal is to oust U.S. troops and establish an Islamic caliphate in the region ...

Interesting. The militants have the same stated goal as Pelosi & friends.

Coincidence or alliance? Curious minds want to know.

...a recent alliance between U.S. forces and a dozen local tribes who say they’ve had enough of militants whose stated goal is to oust U.S. troops and establish an Islamic caliphate in the region…

The balance between getting killed by jihadis and making money off US/Iraq's wealth has tilted in our favor. Let's see if their is a cascade effect.

If this starts spreading the situation in Iraq can change rapidly toward security and then it would be Iran's decision on whether they want to foment violence or not.

Oh happy day!
