I won't vote for McCain, Rudy, or Romney in the Primary... I will however vote for anyone but McCain in the general. If he's the nominee the Dems win, plain and simple.

Ok.
Let's all get behind a major candidate,i.e. one who can beat Hillary! or Prince Obama, who led a spirited fight against McCain-Feingold...

Ok, new plan: let's at least not vote for the guy behind McCain-Feingold.

Destroy the political ambitions of the men who proposed it, yet elect another President who greatly supports it?

Doesn't make sense to me.

He's got a good stance on the war, which is issue #1 for me, but I'm still not buying it.

Protecting our soveriegnty through borders and enforcement of laws and the right to keep and bear arms are inextricable parts of the war. His stance on those issues undermines his willingness to fight the WoT.

At least he didn't snub the CPAC like McVain.

RWS,
McCain-Feingold marched its way through Congress, teh White House, and SCOTUS with the media just cheering it along.
Ideally, they would all be lined up against a wall (metaphorically, of course)
But since that just isn't possible, why don't we destroy the political ambitions of the two men who proposed this anti-American POS in the first place?
Those two would of course be Sens. McCain and Feingold.

Let me just get this straight. He is pro-choice (even PBA), he is pro-gun control, he is pro-gay rights, and he is pro-amnesty for illegals, AND he is for campaign finance reform.

billy, you don't think Rudy would have been proud to put his name on it?? It sure sounded like it to me.

who are we kidding here? Really.

I never hear much about his economic plan
Mark V. on March 2, 2007 at 4:35 PM

He cut taxes and spending and ran a budjet surplus as Mayor of New York City.

That impresses me. If he can do it in NYC, he can do it Washington.

I never hear much about his economic plan. Given that he's unapologetic about fighting terrorists (and calling them terrorists), I'd be willing to bend a little more on his anti-gun stance and his support for McCain-Feingold and "comprehensive immigration reform" if he was committed to keeping the Bush tax cuts in place and cutting spending.

Rudy, like W, is not truely conservative. But he get's it on a couple of very large issues. Does he have a position on the Fair Tax? That would probably determine my vote.

So…?????? Explain to me how he differs on campaign finance reform?

Rightwingsparkle on March 2, 2007 at 4:20 PM

I can't.
Can't explain why this abortion got bi-partisan support.
Can't explain why Bush signed it into law even though he said it was unconstitutional.
Can't explain why the Supreme Court upheld this clear violation of free speech.
Can't explain why the media led the cheers for a trashing of the first amendment.
But I can expain why right thinking people everywhere want to hold St. John accountable for this monstrosity of a law:
He was the Republican to proud to put his name on it.

Ok, I just want to understand something here. A lot of you say you hate McCain for McCain/Feingold. You say McCain was practically ripping up the constitution. Well, if anyone saw this video clip of The Real Rudy, then you saw where he said "I am a strong supporter of McCain/Feingold, always have been." He goes on to say that if he had been in the Senate he would have voted for it.

So...?????? Explain to me how he differs on campaign finance reform?

Loved reading about it. His quotes were wonderful, especially:

“I believe the Republican Party’s greatest contribution is when we give more freedom to people.”

“This war ins over when they stop planning to come over here and kill us. Until then, we have to remain on offense against terrorists.”

and

“America has the right ideas. We should not be embarrassed by ourselves. We are the luckiest people in the world.”

Everything everyone else has been trying to say, in 30 minutes (or more) speeches, Rudy has put in a single quote. I seem to remember another Republican president who could dot that.

I love that Mr. Giuliani was compared to Mrs. Thatcher.

Support...

Though everyone seems to be talking about Rudy, it's Brownback and Romney that have crowds of kids holding signs and drumming up support. When I mentioned that, Ace said it's because they need the exposure and Rudy just doesn't. Maybe.......
