CPAC Blogging

Well, we’re here at the Omni Shoreham for CPAC 2007. If you’re at the conference, stop our booth (#101) or maybe you’ll find us on bloggers’ row. Right now I’m sitting between James Joyner of Outside the Beltay and our own Michelle.
I have to say, hanging out with Michelle at the nexus of all things conservative is a little like running with a rock star. We walk five feet, hear “Hey Michelle, I don’t want to bother you but I’m a big fan,” five more steps, “Hey Michelle,” repeat. Digital cameras come out, crowds gather, etc. It’s nice to see the boss appreciated. “Appreciated” being the understatement of the day.
CPAC is packed. I don’t know what the nose count is, but attendance has to be on a par with last year if not more. All the usual suspects are here, the presidential candidates are out in force with supporters, straw poll promotion, and even a walking stuffed dolphin. He’s not a Romney fan, in case you want to know.
Erick Stakelbeck and I interviewed CPACers on the exhibit floor, and hopefully we’ll have that on tap for Vent tomorrow.
By the way, I’ll be on Fox’s Red Eye tomorrow morning at 2 am. Set the VCRs to help their ratings, and then burn your tapes so you won’t have to sit through several minutes of me.
More later, or as Drudge would say, developing…
Update (AP): Lou Ferrigno’s a Republican? How many Mister Universes do we have?
Update (Ian): I got to CPAC about an hour ago and things are swinging.

Haha, you’re part of Michelle’s “entourage”. If there are news reports on her presence, you would be referred to as “one of Mrs. Malkin’s handlers”. You guys are Britney & Paris for a day. Put on your panties Bryan!
RightWinged on March 1, 2007 at 3:21 PM
I guess that makes Allah Lindsay, and Ian Nicole Richie??
Rick on March 1, 2007 at 3:29 PM
Say Hi to SeeJaneMom for me… she’s up there at CPAC as well.
E L Frederick (Sniper One) on March 1, 2007 at 3:34 PM
Wow, sounds like a moonbat-free environment. Wish I could be there. Maybe I could plan something for next year.
JammieWearingFool on March 1, 2007 at 3:39 PM
Have fun and keep us posted…
SilverStar830 on March 1, 2007 at 3:39 PM
“A moonbat-free environment”… what a glorious thought! (In a Will Ferrrell voice, a la Old School “I see Blue, he looks glorious!”) Every day here is the exact opposite. I’m in Vermont and it’s a moonbad saturated environment.

When Lou Farrigno gets mad he becomes Zetterson! Grroowwrr
Zetterson on March 1, 2007 at 4:06 PM
Hopfully, you will be able to report from CPAC why conservatives are allowing conservatism to be redefined for the purpose of GOP political power.

I do love the Boss Michelle, but all of you at Hot Air deserve a big round of applause !!
abinitioadinfinitum on March 1, 2007 at 4:16 PM
Now, I’ve never seen either one, but I’m pretty sure I don’t want to see them in skirts…
I’ll tune my DVR, but I want a tape Bryan!
amerpundit on March 1, 2007 at 4:17 PM
Yeah, that was weird.
amerpundit on March 1, 2007 at 4:19 PM
Remember, Bryan, the groupies always sleep with the roadies to get to Mick. So you could get lucky.
On a completely different note, why the hell would John McCain be at a gathering for conservatives? To see how the other half lives?
ReubenJCogburn on March 1, 2007 at 4:20 PM
I vaguely remember seeing Ferrigno as the Hulk as a kid (and of course there are reruns now), but I’ve become a fan from watching him on The King of Queens… a show I can’t believe I didn’t discover until a couple months ago.
RightWinged on March 1, 2007 at 4:23 PM
We love King of Queens — reruns and all.
wytammic on March 1, 2007 at 5:01 PM
Say “hi” to James for me. Also: Outside the Beltway
Mark Jaquith on March 1, 2007 at 5:20 PM
Ferrigno? I thought that was Eddie Kranepool.
Attila (Pillage Idiot) on March 1, 2007 at 5:39 PM
Sounds like a lot of fun… More pictures!
Zorro on March 1, 2007 at 5:45 PM
Can Ferrigno beat up the whole democrat party all by himself? I’ll take bets that he can!
lorien1973 on March 1, 2007 at 5:53 PM
How can you watch that show? The wife is a bitch, she’s so abrasive!
lorien1973 on March 1, 2007 at 5:54 PM
No offense, but the pictures of all the bloggers lined up typing on their laptops crack me up. The thrilling world of blogging!
Jim Treacher on March 1, 2007 at 6:04 PM
Mr. Lou? Great guy. Met him once.
Didn’t talk politics, just computers.
Probably would have been more fun to talk politics!
He may have had to stoop a bit for the shot with Michelle. When you stand next to him, you’re impressed.
TheSev on March 1, 2007 at 6:43 PM
I beat Lou at arm wresting once.
Had to use a motorized wench and he was sleeping.
Kiddding Never met him. But I like him.
Texyank on March 1, 2007 at 7:18 PM
The wife encourages me to watch that show as much as possible. I guess it’s a subtle lesser of two evils demonstration on her part.
SailorDave on March 1, 2007 at 7:18 PM
How tall is Michelle… or how un-tall is Lou? So much for my preconceptions. Or maybe Michelle is wearing Gene Simmons’ boots from the Destroyer tour. Perhaps?
SailorDave on March 1, 2007 at 7:25 PM
I love Michelle and Bryan and Allah and Ian. Without you guys there wouldn’t be a Hot Air so enjoy CPAC. Perhaps someday it could come closet to the Uber Left Coast of California? I would love to attend.
I didn’t miss anybody did I?
sharinlite on March 1, 2007 at 7:35 PM
CPAC rocks!
tikvah on March 1, 2007 at 7:45 PM
Google says he is 6′5. That’d make michelle about 5′6 or 5′7 wouldnt it? I figured she’d like 5′1 or 5′2 at most.
lorien1973 on March 1, 2007 at 9:16 PM
Do you know where I can get a motorized wench? And are they as high-maintenance as the non-motorized kind of wenches?
ReubenJCogburn on March 1, 2007 at 10:26 PM
Had to use a motorized wench and he was sleeping.
Texyank on March 1, 2007 at 7:18 PM
Ha ! ! Winch, Winch. Goggle motorized wench and have fun.
Texyank on March 1, 2007 at 10:51 PM
Great meeting you Bryan. CPAC was great today. Bolton was red hot, and Tony Snow was like a rock star. What a ticket that would be.
And congrats to Michelle for the Accuracy in Media award. It’s well-deserved.
tommuck on March 1, 2007 at 11:07 PM
Please, have fun, but NO crotch shots……….
PinkyBigglesworth on March 1, 2007 at 11:44 PM
I see Bryan. That Red Eye Host (Gutfeld)looks like a mix between Rob Morrow (numb3rs) and PeeWee Herman.
Didn’t know Hawkens had an affair? Good info on the Youtube hypocrites Bryan! Too bad the girl missed the point. Yeah we know Youtube is a business. They are also cowards! Cut to Fat dogs!
Please!
