Had some fun with this video posting the other day. It ended up being written about on Hot Air with well over a hundred comments, some of which praised it and some of which thought it was skanky trash. Funniest……

She screams too much, and she did not perform that in style with the music, and, as a result, her style did not work with that tune.

She did not show any feel for jazz, swing, or rockabilly, none of them.

She is out of her league in this one. All shee seems to do is scream, and yell, and dress like a slutty whore.

Now, I must go call HAZMAT and get myself, my computer, and my home and family decontaminated and quarantined!

Finally. Some intelligence. You’re right – apparently she could be fellating a goat and mainlining heroin on stage, but some folks would call it patriotic as long as neon stars and stripes were in the background. Sheesh. Conservative? Not so much.

Sorry, but I htink all of you missed the point. The style is retro. It’s not an homage to the troops. (Fortunately, it’s not a denigration of them either.) The retro look is just another style, another visual theme in the artists repetoir to exploit.

As far as the video, it’s actually pretty unremarkable. Good voice. Check. Dressing, singing, and acting like a slut. Check. Over-editing in the video. Check. Expand her fan base to re-include righties who were appalled by her “Beautiful” song/video. Check. Deposit production studio’s check. Check. etc.

Maybe she’s a Libertarian who realised that the Democrats haven’t fought for liberty and justice for all.

I consider myself a Libertarian-Republican. Pro Gun Ownership, Pro-Adult Content for Adults, Pro-Death Penalty, Pro-efficiency (Not quite the same as being pro-environment… it’s more about self-preservation and a desire to spend less money.)

Neutral on Gay Marriage, Neutral on Abortion (But anyone that is Pro choice MUST be Pro-death penalty unless they are a total hypocrite. If someone believes that human babies may be eliminated for the sake of convenience, then the necessity of eliminating murderers/rapists is clearly a superior reason to end a life.)

Anti-child abuse, anti-drugs (Stupid Libertarian party. Drugs are just another way for your enemies to oppress your mind) Anti-Taxation, etc.

If Someone believes in freedom, and they actually look what the two major parties intend… and they understand what those intentions mean for freedom…

(for example: The Democrats’ nanny state.)

How could you not be pro-republican right now?

the lines about making her “panties drop” and her “cherry pop” and getting it while it’s hot in an Andrews Sisters homage is a bit much for my taste.

In my mind the cherry pop reference can’t be what you think. She must be talking about that gum that squirts when you bite it or something. Does anyone acknowledge the remotest possibility that she is a virgin? Puleeze.

Still, I did enjoy the video, but she could have done without the panties and cherries.

BTW, did you guys notice she replicated the famous Rosie the Riveter poster from WWII? Plus some of the other stuff you guys already mentioned…she was definitely sending a pro-victory message throughout the entire video.

And best yet, she gave our boys something REAL nice to look at. Talk about eye candy. I’m a chick, but I can appreciate hot when I see it. Besides, have you ever seen the troops go crazy over a pretty female while deployed? It’s fun, it’s hilarious, it’s normal, and it’s hornier than hell. Who cares? That’s life in uniform. I’d be worried if our men were a bunch of emasculated pansies. As for the whole panty-dropping line – I can see that getting hoots and hollers from guys in uniform. A little bit of naughty fun.
I’d love to see more retro stuff like this.

As for naked Sundays – my husband would think he’d died and gone to heaven. We used to do have fun like that before kids – and somehow I just don’t think it will be AS fun when we’re 50 and the kids are finally out of the house. ;P So, hooray for Naked Sundays when you’re young and…taut!

But it’s hard to forgive her for the perverted “Beautiful” video some years back, which had to be the most depraved thing ever peddled to America’s youth, ever.

Don’t chide Allah for being unfamilliar with this stuff. I’ve not listened to Music radio for years, and don’t miss it one iota – ’cause it’s mostly crap. Case in point..a song including the phrase “makes my cherry pop” as a serious lyric.

Again…just sayin’.

Maybe she’s a Republican, but doesn’t want to say for fear of getting blacklisted by the entertainment community. Even if she’s not, this is a good video.
