Fifty Muslims show up to oppose Islamic terror. Five thousand show up to support a terrorist organization. That’s a hundred to one ratio of support for terror in the American Muslim community. That metric tells you a lot about where Muslims in America stand.

I believe that there are more moderate muslims than you indicate. What I further believe is that many are cowed into silence by the terrorist supporters, or they are politically apathetic. Hezbollah and other such groups, despite our laws to the contrary, seem to have a network deeply inserted in the muslim community here.

I have no doubt at all that they threaten some moderates here, either directly, or by targeting relatives left behind in the “old country.”

I also believe that most are more interested in succeeding in America the way that most of our immigrant ancestors were.

Nevertheless, the fact that there are only few thousand vocal Hezbollah supporters out of a community that numbers in the millions speaks volumes about the inability of Hezbollah (and also Hamas, BTW)to start a successful insurgency or intifada here, which is a “prime directive” of their masters in Tehran.

Last summer, more than five thousand Muslims showed up to support Hezbollah in its war against Israel. That would be the same Hezbollah which claims its advantage is that it loves death while its enemies disadvantage is that they love life. That is the neatest self-description of evil I know. The demonstrators blamed Israel, America, Bush, transnational corporations, GE, the US dollar, et al for the war. They blamed everyone but Hezbollah, a terror organization.
