Not worth a post during the week, but on a Saturday when I’ve overslept and an Xbox 360 is sitting six feet away? Money.
Thanks to Niko K. Anyone here own one of these Edsels?
Update: Ace explains in much more detail just how Sony killed its brand.

I have a Gamecube and PS2, do want to get a Wii also, I wasn’t aware that Sony was such a bunch of maroons, thanks.
My daughter still kicks my ass at Guitar Hero.
bbz123 on February 24, 2007 at 1:48 PM
when 360 drops its price in the spring, sony’s pos system will never catch up.
jummy on February 24, 2007 at 1:51 PM
Sony has been going downhill for a long time. They just hired some British CEO to try to get them back on track, but they’re infected with Japanese arrogance and don’t really understand that their customers are pissed because their stuff isn’t as good as it used to be.
PRCalDude on February 24, 2007 at 1:55 PM
JUst showed this to my 15 year old son…. he says he has to send this to his freinds….

I’m happy with my ‘Pong’. Never get enough of it.

I still have an Atari 2600 around someplace but it is too damn complicated.
Limerick on February 24, 2007 at 2:00 PM
I don’t have a game system at all. It would become nothing but a dust collector soon after bringing it home.
I barely play the games I have for the PC.
TwinkietheKid on February 24, 2007 at 2:00 PM
I’m still making do with my old-school Xbox.
Halo 2, anyone?
Slublog on February 24, 2007 at 2:07 PM
I play with guns.

I hate Sony and always have. ’bout time everyone else caught up.
Darth Executor on February 24, 2007 at 2:12 PM
That’s hilarious. Almost Weird Al quality.
The only game I play is the Legend of Zelda. Nintendo’d have to make some pretty dumb mistakes, like go back to the Wind Waker model again, before I’ll quit keeping up with that line.

X-Box 360 is doing great due to one designer, Chris Novak. He drives high performance race cars and adapts the game to the real thing.

infidel4life on February 24, 2007 at 2:23 PM
Xboc 360 is the cost leader and has the advantage of getting a head start on the others. The Wii is innovative and is winning over people who never played video games before. Sony dropped the ball with their new system.

Anyone know the actual name of the song that’s being parodied?
Golden Boy on February 24, 2007 at 2:33 PM
And then Kutsuragi (the guy incharge of the development of the PS3) got promoted after the launch of the PS3, and Hirai (guy in charge of their American Division) got his spot.
See here’s the problem with Sony. You mess up, you get promoted.

Just got the Wii a few weeks ago!!!!
Absolutely amazing, and sooo much fun. The Wii Sports is really just the beginning. Tennis and Golf are the most fun, but Bowling and Boxing are also just as fun. Baseball is cool, and really shows off the power of Wii technology, but it’s crude and elementary as a game. I’m very impressed with it thus far, but I feel it’s only the beginning. Games not created for the Wii are difficult, like Madden07. Zelda is addictive! I have to watch myself b/c I have a full time job.
Wii goes beyond traditional gaming. The Wii is WIFI ready. So, if you’re wireless like me, you can check the weather anywhere on the planet, check local/int’l news, interact in online polls, and even pay a monthly subscription for an internet browser. It also has a Sims element with the “Miis”. They are your profiles, and they travel with you on your Wii remote, as well as through your WIFI connection via WiiConnect24.
Nintendo has taken a bold step. It’s the only system out there that actually has the potential to create WebTV. In fact, the Wii menu looks like a dozen television sets they call “channels”.
I was planning on getting the PS3, but the price of the Wii bundles are equal to the PS3 platform. Moreover, don’t waste your money on recycled technology.
budorob on February 24, 2007 at 2:50 PM
Hello.
I have to say I really enjoy my Wii. (Oh man, does THAT ever sound bad.) It definately has revolutionized how to play games.
I am very tempted to get a Xbox 360, but it still has the one problem the Xbox had: a real lack of RPGs or RPG adventure games in the vein of Zelda. If Microsoft was able to convince Square Enix to put out some games on their console, I will drop Sony like a bad habit. (Especially if they put out Kingdom Hearts 3 and Chrono Break on either the Wii or 360.)
(And yes, I AM a gaming geek….sue me!)
Chike ex Machina on February 24, 2007 at 2:50 PM
I have the Wii (incredible gameplay) and I just got the XBOX-360. My brother has the PS3, and needless to say, other than the Blue-Ray feature, it’s disappointing. Look for me on F.E.A.R. online…StoutRepublican baby! I’m not good, but I can dream.
StoutRepublican on February 24, 2007 at 3:01 PM
Bah – I’ll stick with my PS2 until 3 has been out long enough for it to be a reasonable price.
And I’m not buying anything that sounds like “wee”
uptight on February 24, 2007 at 3:04 PM
Good stuff. I dont have any of the new systems, but a buddy has the Wii. I can’t get enough of the tennis game.
I knew PS3 was going to tank when I saw the insane price tag.

Yeah, or Real Time Weapons Change.
Or how the PS3 can cure cancer.
Or how the PS3 is a super computer.
Or how the PS3 can run 120 FPS.
Or how about Sir David Reeves comment that the PS3 will sell even without games?
Keljeck on February 24, 2007 at 4:51 PM
Own a Wii… love it… I am a convert.
Decoy256 on February 24, 2007 at 4:53 PM
So…. I’m off to play some Zelda and eat some chicken wings. Have fun Sony!
Seixon on February 24, 2007 at 4:59 PM
I’m thinking about getting a Wii…
The wii controller looks a little iffy for certain games, but it’s easier to make aftermarket controlers for stuff like Madden, or Square-Enix RPGs, then it is to make an over priced PS3s suck less.
Jones Zemkophill on February 24, 2007 at 5:07 PM
I have a Wii. Anyone want to buy it? It’s really cool at first, then well…you find that most of the games have a very hard learning curve. Also, the new WWII game is physically making people dizzy! YIKES!
My buddy bought it (I forget the name) and he played it for eight minutes before he nearly threw up on his new plasma screen. And he’s a die-hard gamer.
If you are a casual gamer–the Wii may not be for you. If you are a gamer–go for it. Also, I have had to re-sync the controller multiple times. In the middle of a game, it will just quit.
Also, if you can find an extra controller–good luck!
I shoulda saved a few more bucks and bought the 360. This Summer, its mine!!!
robblefarian on February 24, 2007 at 6:50 PM
Does anyone know why the Wii system is not available? It was supposed to be my son’s “big” Christmas gift but I can’t find one anywhere (unless I want to pay $800.00 NO)

I love my dead gay Nintendo DS!
The last game system I owned was an Atari 5200. But my family bought me a used DS for my birthday, and it’s the most fun thing ever made. And apparently it’s kicking the ass of the Sony PSP in sales. Did I mention it’s fun?
I love racing for the glory of the United States in global Mario Kart DS. Too bad I suck.

I love the Wii!!
bookwurm322 on February 25, 2007 at 5:21 PM
Have a Wii. Whole family enjoys it. Have had a Playstation 2 and an XBox. They sit cold and dark since we got the Wii for Christmas. Anything that gets my wife–someone who despises computer and video games–to play and enjoy is on to something.
As for the person whose controller needs to keep re-syncing…ummm, change your batteries. HArd to find a second controller? The local Walmart had them by the dozens. It might have been hard around Christmas but it isn’t now. Worse case is order one online and you can have it in a day or two.
360 is a good system and I may get one as well someday IF there is a game I want to play, but I’m not into button mashing FPS shooters. I had a blast playing the new Zelda and Madden football is a trip on the Wii…
