Video: Nothing any of us says matters to anyone

A refreshed Mary K returns from hiatus, heads to the mall, and waylays unsuspecting shoppers on their way to the Orange Julius to find out if they’ve heard of Eleanor Clift. I’ve never been a fan of ambush journalism, but when it’s used to remind me of my own cosmic irrelevance? Irresistible.
MK seems pretty chipper for someone staring into the abyss, though. I attribute it to those shades perched jauntily atop her head, ready to be deployed in bad-ass Caruso fashion at a moment’s notice. Proving that life has no meaning is tough, but if you’re going to do it, you might as well look good. Lemons, lemonade, etc.

As I thought…voices in the wilderness.

Hmmm, that’s pretty bad, though pundits are generally less important to keep in mind than actual politicians.
That is somthing they ought to run at the end of Special Report with Brit Hume.
My next question would be “Have you ever watched C-Span?” and wait for them to respond: “What’s C-span?”

The young lady deserves her own TV show.

Get a Myspace account….hook up with your kids as one of their “friends”. Then you can spread information to these types where they actually visit.
I’ve got most of my kids friends trashing cnn and promoting fox news.
hehehe

You could have asked them to name the Vice President, and they would have had the same reaction.

Yeah, Pearl Harbor was just a movie afterall.

I think she’s getting in touch with her inner Camus. Or Nietzsche if you prefer.
The choice of background music was pure genius – not only is it a great song, but it fit the subject matter perfectly.

When life gives Jack Bauer lemons, he kills terrorists with them.
Jack Bauer hates lemonade.

Speaking of Mary Katherine, whatever happened to Bethany?

Yet, I keep staring at MKH …
doufree on February 23, 2007 at 1:19 PM
You could have asked them what mall they were in, and they wouldn’t know. Fer shurr.
I’m on board with you csdeven. My children (young adults now) can hold their own with any puppet-head liberal.

You seem to be overly observant of Ms. MK, could it be you find her…”Irresistible”…..

paulsur on February 23, 2007 at 1:38 PM
I think we’re talking a May/December relationship here, paulsur. Allah’s a weeee bit older than MK.
nukemhill on February 23, 2007 at 1:50 PM
What we all say to our fearless leaders doesn’t matter either so why do we bother???
Oh yeah, most Americans already don’t bother…to vote , or participate because they too have learned…no one is listening!!!
Mellen on February 23, 2007 at 1:53 PM
It’s sad that most of America isn’t aware of what’s going on around them.
So she does her show in the Pentagon City Mall? Of course I’m not there to see it and she films in my neck of the woods.
bentman78 on February 23, 2007 at 1:58 PM
Really? Huh. I know very little about Allah.
1. He is an atheist.
2. He is an Italian American.
3. It is funny when he swoops down from blogger heaven to scold commenters.
4. ???
5. Profit.
Also, just to get the hetero out: MKH looks incredibly cute as a mallrat. I’d share an Orange Julius with her, if you know what I mean. I’d school her at Dance Dance Revolution something fierce, if you know what I mean. I’d pretend not to notice the sex shrine in the middle of Spencer Gift’s while flipping through blacklight posters with her, if you know what I mean. I’d go into Waldenbooks to read a Calvin and Hobbes anthology for free with her, if you okay I’ll stop.
Savage on February 23, 2007 at 1:59 PM
Nukemhill:
Are we talking an Anna Nicole/J.Howard Marshall kinda May/Dec
or more the Drew Barrymore/Bruis Willis kinda May/Dec?
Limerick on February 23, 2007 at 2:00 PM
I’m 32, she’s 26 (I think).
Allahpundit on February 23, 2007 at 2:01 PM
I have it on good authority that Allah is cute in a “nerdy” sort of way.
He just makes everyone think he’s hideous in order to lower expectations. Then when you see him, you think “wow, he’s practically hot.”
;-)
Rightwingsparkle on February 23, 2007 at 2:49 PM
Also, isn’t MK the cutest thing EVER? I hope my daugher turns out just like her.
Rightwingsparkle on February 23, 2007 at 2:50 PM
“Nerdy”?
Allahpundit on February 23, 2007 at 2:59 PM
Now. Now. That’s not a bad thing. It means you aren’t the “slick” or “vain” type.
Trust me. Especially these days, it’s a good thing.
Rightwingsparkle on February 23, 2007 at 3:02 PM
“Practically”?
Allahpundit on February 23, 2007 at 3:03 PM
Well, Allah, it could be worse. You could be cute in a “dumb bodybuilder” way.
But then, as a nerd, I hope being cute and nerdy isn’t a bad thing.
Vanceone on February 23, 2007 at 3:13 PM
To me, the great example is how many people who post on Hot Air have heard of Brigitte Gabriel?
Now…how many “non-Hot Air” posters have ever heard of her?
I rest my case.
asc85 on February 23, 2007 at 3:21 PM
Perhaps she can be a regular on this show.
I’ll bet Allah will watch.

Matarville. I love it!
alflauren on February 23, 2007 at 3:47 PM
It’s not as much the truth about the universe that drags down the spirits of the great men, as the democratic assumptions of the age. But it doesn’t seem to be necessary to know the members of the ruling class in order to be ruled by them, only to combat them or join them. Nor did the founder of modernity think it necessary to “enlighten” the many himself. He wrote books by which he recruited, not an army, but a general staff, and not while he was alive, but only after he was dead.
Kralizec on February 23, 2007 at 3:57 PM
This is gonna come across as being a killjoy, but does Salem pay the licensing fees to BMI or ASCAP for using “Who Are You” and “She Drives Me Crazy” in her vlogs?
If not, you’re just handing YouTube an easy excuse to pull your vids…
ScottMcC on February 23, 2007 at 4:03 PM
In my best Darth Vader voice..
“I am your father, young Pundit.”
/vader off
(Well, I am old enough to be AllahPundit’s father, anyway.)
Yes, I have noticed. And BTW, it’s the only was some of us POGs are certain that we are still alive and that we still have a pulse. No matter how old we get, it never goes away.

Its nice to know that intelligent youngsters are out there.

I think you’ve brought this up before, Scott, and no, I don’t steal music.
marykatharine on February 23, 2007 at 5:33 PM
So, Allah is “cute and nerdy”..but is he….
I’d be impressed if he was… ;)
Peace out, from the Dragon!
tickleddragon on February 23, 2007 at 6:20 PM
forgive me…couldn’t help it.
tickleddragon on February 23, 2007 at 6:21 PM
You know, the attitude of people here can sometimes be gob-smackingly vile.
Objectifying a fellow conservative as merely toy for the sexual gratification of other members of blogosphere is demeaning and degrading. Bloggers and pundits should be judged by their intellectual contributions to the political dialog, not whether they are attractive, cute, witty, sexy, etc.
I’m sorry Allah, you deserve better…
:-)

Does this mean that commentors are tiny fish in a tiny pond?

Good, I don’t feel so bad about being jaded now. And yes, MKH is totally adorable.

That would have been a great way to end the segment: Tight shot – Stern stare – Tilt head, lean into camera – Make pithy, nihlistic statement while donning shades threateningly – Pause – Exit, stage right…
eeyore on February 24, 2007 at 1:19 PM
What does that mean ?

Matarville..lol
RobertCSampson on February 25, 2007 at 11:37 AM
Welcome back, MKH!
WasatchMan on February 26, 2007 at 3:15 AM
I certainly hope not. I also know that Russ Hauth, VP of Salem’s NNPA Division and National Religious Broadcasters Music Licensing Committee, has worked very hard on making sure that music heard on Salem radio stations are properly licensed for streaming on the Web.
Again, the only reason why I bring this up is because I don’t want the anti-Christian programming directors at Google/YouTube pulling any of your vids on “legal” grounds because there’s a question about the music licensing.
Personally, I’d like to see Chuck DeFeo add more videos like yours to TownHall.com and start laying the infrastructure for TownHall bloggers to upload their “citizen journalist” video reports that could be shared on SRNnews.com too.
And how great would it be to see HDTV versions of HamNation on all of our broadband-enabled laptops and PCs?
