Video: Dreadfully tedious anti-American Iranian cartoons

posted at 10:08 am on February 23, 2007 by Allahpundit

Just once, just once, I want to be surprised by something funny or clever or cutting in their propaganda. But it’s the same crap time after time, notwithstanding the occasional flash of creativity in how they present it. The closest thing to sharp satire here is the scene with the conveyor belt — except that they don’t say what the conveyor belt’s supposed to be. Poor pre-war planning? Jihadist resoluteness? Jack Murtha? As it is, it’s about as incisive as a drawing of a U.S. soldier sinking in a swamp with a caption reading “Quagmire.”

They should learn from the North Koreans, who at least know the value of a killer soundtrack. Click the image to watch.

Apparently the suicide bombers are all under US control. Who knew?

We should just tell our guys to stop doing that.

Yeah, the soundtrack was hypno-elevator. The moral inversion despicable. But the Boush caricature was actually more flattering than most I’ve seen in the American media.

Thank God we’ve got the .5HNH.

Allah, I believe that “conveyour belt” is meant to represent the endless road to victory fo the US. The sign saying VICTORY pointed that way, and Bush is seen leading his troops on a treadmill (endless loop) towards that victory, to which they will never arrive…like marching on a treadmill, and going nowhere.

But yeah, their humor needs a bet of work…Apparently, Islam does not allow laughter?

This would have to rank just slightly below “An Inconvenient Truth” on the ol’ Snooze-o-Meter.

Er, yes, I understand that. I’m just saying, it’s not an especially useful analogy unless they explain what the conveyor belt’s supposed to be.

Didn’t we already learn this week, from THHNH, that if a joke has to be explained; its not funny?

What was up with the musical score there? Awful. Boring.

Zealots are never funny.

Eh, all I get from that conveyor belt is it’s simply “a road to nowhere” metaphore concerning US victory. Bush can lead the troops towards “victory” as long as he wants, but he’ll never get there.

Of course, it’s not so much conveyor belts that are our biggest obstacle…

The suicide bombers were all jews. The huge noses are the give away.

I would think that the reason america is going nowhere on the treadmill is because in the cartoons view the jihadists are defeating us.

csdeven on February 23, 2007 at 11:44 AM

What about the one where Boush falls over after watching TV? An accurate observation that the MSM is one of the things taking us out, along with a boxing-glove-in-a-box?

Ferris on February 23, 2007 at 11:58 AM

I thought the music was kinda zippy…. *shrug*

But anyway, I’m still trying to figure out what’s up with the one with the dog…?

dead-duck on February 23, 2007 at 12:52 PM

Just looks like DU commentary presented in a cartoon format in Farsi. With a really annoying laff track and cheesy looped world music.

spmat on February 23, 2007 at 1:46 PM

Out of curiosity, if we control the suicide bombers, why don’t the muslims condemn suicide bombing?… Or am I missing some logic step here?

tadams1138 on February 23, 2007 at 1:50 PM

Why was everybody so drunk they couldn’t stand up straight, even the Muslims?

dostrick on February 23, 2007 at 2:11 PM

Did you notice however, that all the U.S. soldiers were equipped with body armor?

This stuff is Gospel in the “State Run Schools” and “State Run Media” of the Middle East……..

“Mother’s Milk” to the next wave of terrorists……. no joke.

And our MSM sits on it…… I wonder what would happen if the cartoons identified “Uncle Sam” as a Democrat only, and feared the “Republican”????

Any wailing call or banshi cry, CNN?

PinkyBigglesworth on February 24, 2007 at 12:52 AM

[Shuddering in the fetal position]

I’m not sure what was most disturbing – the Teletubby laugh track, the dwarf hippo Barney, the backwards-Arabic voiceovers, or the persistent jazz sitar soundtrack.

If that cartoon is seen by one more unsuspecting American, the terrorists have already won.
