I seriously doubt Hagel could convincingly jump ship. He’s not an Olympia Snowe. He’s from Nebraska, one of the reddest states in the union. The people of Nebraska voted for Bush 66/33; if that’s not ringing support for Bush’s foreign policy decisions, I don’t know what is. If he jumps ship, he needs to make sure he can’t be recalled first.
