what they do NOT say is how many of the attackers were killed…

Tells the whole story right there, maximize our losses, and don’t even mention theirs.

But what I really don’t get is how the Republican Party – including the President – doesn’t get in their faces and give it right back to them.

Yep. We lost the propaganda war a long time ago. If we’d bothered to fight it – to make a real effort to get a more complete picture of what’s going on, instead of just allowing the MSM body count – there would be very little support for a retreat. Those “soccer moms in Ohio and and Florida with no long term memories and no common sense” think the only thing that’s happened is 3,000 soldiers died, and they don’t even have that in context (i.e. a lot more soldiers died during Clinton’s administration; nearly 17,000 people were killed by drunk driving just in 2005.) They’re not being told about vaccinations, schools, successes, and they’re especially not being told how many will die if we just bug out. And I DO blame President Bush and the Republican congress for losing the propaganda war.

For all you shallow-Hal types out there in VWRC-land, no doubt.

I don’t get the comparison of this war to WWII.

Nether do I.

The Democrats love to point out that this has been going on longer than our involvement in WWII (forgetting the fact that we provided support, both in men and materials, to England and China years before we were ‘involved’ in WWII) yet they always omit the nature of the “involvement” that WWII required.

WWII resulted in the destruction of entire cities in Europe and Japan, required the vast resources of our entire economy, lead to the deaths of tens of thousands of American lives, required the construction of tens of thousands of ships, warplanes, tanks, ammo, etc, and required billions of dollars in reconstruction costs in Europe and Japan.

Democrats also omit the fact that we still have troops in Europe and Japan. Why don’t the Democrats call for a “redeployment” of those troops as well, along with the ‘redeployment’ of troops in Kosovo and the other Balkan States?

The fact is; the Democrats want us to fail in Iraq as this is “Bush’s War” and they will forever label it a “Republican Failure” just like they did with Vietnam.
