The Passion of the Moonbat, and more on O’Reilly

NBC is evil! They hired a Communist for a commentator! They softballed Our Lady of Insanity! Go!

O’Reilly has a point about NBC and its list to the left. Any network that wants both Olbermann and the infantile blogger formerly known as Wonkette hanging around its newscasts just isn’t making decisions based on fairness, balance, informative comment or even watchability. It’s basing its decisions on rank moonbattery.

I’m not sure that’s worth a crusade, but it probably is good for the ratings to take an occassional swing at the competition. Occassional, Bill. Don’t become that which you behold.

Well said Bryan.

He’s a brave man to surround himself with those two lovely ladies…’cause he ain’t. Heh.

Bob's Kid on February 19, 2007 at 10:03 PM

Heck, I was one of those suggesting that Michelle take his seat permanently!

Great Job Ladies, you’re the best.

Zorro on February 19, 2007 at 10:14 PM

Mr O’s comment that news organizations shouldn’t lean toward a specific candidate during elections seems to overlook the fact that many of them do – including print media such as the NYT. This has been happening for years! I think Bill actually knows that but allowed emotion to bypass his objectivity in making the point. Michelle correctly, and nicely, wrapped up the thought that if news organizations want to lean left or right that’s fine – but not while telling us they are objective. Good segment, but Bill is starting to wear me out with this subject.

thedecider on February 19, 2007 at 10:19 PM

Dear Bill,

Please don’t ever make those screechy little-girl sounds again. Ever.

Thanks!

el75 on February 19, 2007 at 10:28 PM

I didn’t know O’Reilly had time for another crusade… I thought he was too busy trying to ban people from climbing Mount Hood.

Agreed,and to add a thought:

Good segment, but Bill is starting to wear me out with this subject.

thedecider on February 19, 2007 at 10:19 PM

With respect, thedecider, can I add the fact that the Mcain-Feingold Bill:

The bill also placed restrictions on outside groups airing so-called “issue ads” that tout or criticize a candidate’s position on an issue, but refrain from explicitly telling viewers to vote for or against that candidate

Restrictions on us, but NOT the Main Stream Media.

THAT is why this topic will never loose it’s importance, and the vetting of “Left Wing Bias”, is as important as fighting Islamofacists, and Securing the Borders.

PinkyBigglesworth on February 19, 2007 at 10:41 PM

Mr Bill sounding like Mr Bill of SNL fame

Scary stuff. . .

Texyank on February 19, 2007 at 10:46 PM

Commies in the media… oh my, are we just now figuring this out Mr. O’Reilly?

Maxx on February 19, 2007 at 10:49 PM

It’s basing its decisions on rank moonbattery.

Priceless!

I see more of Bill O’ here on HA than on Fox. His immitation of the Marcotte interview was hilarious :)

P.S. Marcotte looked really ugly and unslept. Those writing jobs are just laying around by the thousands…

I get your point about attempting to legislate what the public can or cannot be told. The government should never do that. That’s one thing, but a news organizations’ decision to slide off to the left is different. We have right and left leaning media (more left than right) and again, Bill is starting to wear me out on this subject with NBC. If they want to go left, the American public can judge them with the remote – as they appear to be doing.

thedecider on February 19, 2007 at 11:28 PM

I am not trying to flatter, but I have been very impressed with Michelle’s laser clear answers to Bill O’s questions on his show. Her answers are very clear and to the point without any hesitation.

I noticed Katie C is aging rapidly on CBS. She doesn’t seem, well, as perky as she once was. Perhaps having an intelligent and articulate anchor such as Michelle would be in CBS’s best interest. That would really put the pin in the remaining ratings NBC might be holding onto.

So Michelle, would you give up your day job to take an evening job?

Texas Mike on February 19, 2007 at 11:45 PM

KP has been bought and paid for now. I’ve been waiting for the exposure situation. She’s been close for a couple months but then she would surprise me at the end with her honest logic. [you know, for a liberal]

Not this time. Complete and total leftist lies. Even the smirk at the thought of one of the big 3 networks completely dedicating itself to the propaganda. Even the attack at the victim. Done.

Griz on February 19, 2007 at 11:50 PM

Glenn Beck was close to tears tonight over the brutal leftist blogfest’s smears hitting him. Quaint story about his liberal producer [formerly obie writer, so you know she is] admitting/realizing it’s all lies from over on that side of things.

It is tramatic when as an innocent you realize who you’ve been supporting and the complete lack of integrity involved. Especially when you can look across the aisle and see true integrity and honesty.

Imagine what it feels like each morning with complete awareness of your corrupt positions and those you defend. And then you can smile about it. Apparently one doesn’t even need to be in denial. Just smile about it. It’s all fun. All good.

Griz on February 20, 2007 at 12:02 AM

O’Reilly has said several times that one can go right on over to foxnews.com and find a list of all the paid analysts for FNC.
Not really seeing it.

Fair enough, and well written as always….. we do have the power of the “channel changer”.

I am never amazed by the intelligence of the contributors to this sight…..

Keep up the good work, Ladies and Gentlemen…..

PinkyBigglesworth on February 20, 2007 at 12:30 AM

Wonkette??

Krykeee!! I feel so dirty.

(hey. remember in ghost busters when the spud slimed murray and then murray radioed ray that ‘it slimed me?’… but…i digress…)

Bryan, Bryan, Bryan. I think it is worth a crusade.

Now, NBC does not set the msm tone like the ny times does, but NBC is a major news outlet that informs and influences millions of citizens. So when NBC tilts waaaay over to the left (near moonbattiness), and does it consistently and insidiously, I think it needs to be monkey stomped like a drunken ex boyfriend stalking yer girl.

I say, “Thank you, Bill!”

My work here is done.

locomotivebreath1901 on February 20, 2007 at 12:38 AM

O’Reilly said there’s a list of Fox paid analysts at foxnews.com. I’m curious. I can’t find it there. Anyone?

I admit I haven’t watched this clip yet, but the word “crusade” probably fits. Having watched Bill over the past few years, he does seem to get stuck on a matter and goes over the edge with it. My motto: make your point, make it well, then move on.
That is all.

vcferlita on February 20, 2007 at 9:11 AM

I disagree.

I don’t much like Bill O’Reilly, but the one thing he does that makes him very useful is these “crusades,” when he sinks his teeth into something and refuses to let go.

Does it make him look like a dolt? Sure – sometimes. And sometimes, when it’s something I don’t care much about, I wish he’d shut up and move on, too. As in, I really don’t need to hear any more about “Ludacris.” Sheesh.

But when he bites into something worthwhile (even if it’s just a lucky accident), I’m awfully glad he’s doing it. The classic example is the post-9/11 charity situation. O’Reilly single-handedly shined the light on that one and did a lot of good for a lot of people.

I’ll put up with his silliness on dumb issues, as long as once in a while he puts that same bulldoggedness to work on important issues.

Those crusades are all he’s good for. But when he’s on one, when it’s important, the last thing I want him to do is make his point and move on.

Like, say, immigration. I hope he never moves on from that crusade. Or the anti-pedophilia stuff. I hope he beats that horse until it’s long dead and rotting.

I tried, too. Actually, I can’t find much of anything on the FoxNews staff in general. Must be something in there somewhere, I’d think.

Professor Blather on February 20, 2007 at 11:19 AM

Thank you Professor for defending Mr. O’Reilly. A lot of people criticize him and although I’m not necessarily a fan I do appreciate the fact that he tackles difficult issues and brings them to the public’s attention, issues that otherwise would be buried or not reported on at all.

I found the bios list at Foxnews.com. First, I went to the OR Factor section and clicked on read Bill’s bio, then I clicked on the “bios” link, and voila bios on the paid Fox people.

Sorta like going around your elbow to get to your….

KelliD on February 20, 2007 at 11:28 AM

I’d provide a link, but I’m an idiot when it comes to that stuff. Sorry. I’ll try to do better in the future.

KelliD on February 20, 2007 at 11:29 AM

There’s a fairly extensive list about 3/4 of the way down this page, but I don’t see KP, so I’m sure there are probably others missing. Not sure what O’R was referring to, but I think there used to be a direct link on the main page.

Speaking of KP, I think someone beat our side to the punch on the ‘leave a trail of weed and granola’ plan someone put forth a couple of months ago. Shoulda struck while the iron was hot.

You might want to edit your motto:
Watch the Clip before making your point, make it well, then move on OR just move on

Wade on February 20, 2007 at 12:21 PM

I stopped watching the national MSM news broadcasts years ago – I can barely stand local news broadcasts. Except when I was in the desert during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. I would often watch CNN or MSNBC just for comic relief to see how they were analyzing and characterizing the operations with which I was involved – always good for a laugh. Fox News often missed the mark too, but at least they tended to simply report, rather than speculate and guess about things. Drive on Bill!

SEMPER AMERICA!

mach1bugs on February 20, 2007 at 12:32 PM

You know, I actually don’t want Michelle to get a show on Fox, and I’ll tell you why. She’s not wishy-washy enough to be the only host like O’Reilly is, thus they would have to sit her next to some Alan Colmes level moron and thus, I wouldn’t be able to watch the show out of desire to throw things at the TV every time the cohost began to speak.

Unless of course KP was the cohost. . .

Wolfman on February 20, 2007 at 12:50 PM

Did he say”foxy news analysts”?

mojo on February 20, 2007 at 4:27 PM

Bill is the only person on TV openly talking about blatant media bias. Nobody else even touches this beyond implying that it exists. He’s directly pointing the finger at NBC, God bless him. Keep it up Bill!
