We have had a few really great presidents. I am also a fan of Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt. Both were superb leaders in their times and have had a huge impact on our nation today.

Many will disagree with me but I think Regan was a great president, if for no other reason he found a solution to the Cold War that was productive and resulted in destrution of arms that were never used. Regan spent his way out of a war that could have left the world looking like the movie “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome”. It was close, very close, and Regan was the driving force behind the Soviet being defeated without devastating nuclear conflict.

I have to admit however George Washington is my favorite, with Lincoln a very very close second.

One could make the same claim today, 42 presidents later, because there haven’t been any.

I am definitely a fan of George Washington. The more I find out about him the more I am in awe of his abilities, purity of purpose, wisdom, and the results he has produced.

Definitely in agreement here. True definition of a patriot, an American, a man. Oh, how we need leaders today cut from the same cloth. I believe the American people would vote overwhemingly for such a person. Of course, the problem is that the MSM would smear such a person to the point of being unrecognizable.

GW is THE man. People wonder what makes this country great. Here’s a clue, it’s not the country, it’s the people who live here…

And they in his. This man risked everything – including his life and the lives of his family – to lead an audacious rebellion against the greatest military power the world had known to that point in time. All for a belief in the American experiment. I wish today’s leaders had such passion.

And then, to the amazement of tyrants and kings around the world, he walked away from power. This is the greatest lesson of Washington’s life.

Perhaps the folks at Lionheart filmworks would consider putting Ian W. Toll’s “Six Frigates”, or Giles Milton’s “White Gold, The Extraordinary Story of Thomas Pellow and Islam’s One Million White Slaves” to film.

These two books provide spectacular reads with the time line intersecting the two. One side being told by Pellow,a Cornish cabin boy who was taken by Islamic pirates in 1716 and sold as a slave to the legendarily tyrannical Sultan Moulay Ismail. The American side intersects with the development of the US Navy as a response to demands for tribute in exchange for access to trade routes.

Washington is so worth studying closly to see what a great leader is made out of in an age where we vote more for those who will do the least damage than who has the greatest virtue.
