Anton on February 19, 2007 at 2:08 PM

Hear, hear! You pretty much said it all - I lived in the UK several years ago for a little over three years. It is sad to see what the nation has become compared to what it was and could be again.

I can only imagine what those I knew are thinking at the joke (as well as living hell) their nation has become for them who were born, raised, fought for and live there. England as it is is not what they fought for.

Of course, back then, not many people took the "religion of peace" all that seriously as many I knew considered it perhaps something to study but not something that you (nor any sane people) would ever want to be a part of.

They were worthy of our ridicule then, and I believe, still are, so:

strike up the band. Enter stage left the silly Morehamhead, his nine year old bride, and the knights who say ni!

Blair has dismantled too many British institutions. He has the anti-Midas touch, everything aspect of government he interferes with becomes sclerotic and incompetent.

Speaking of Monty Python - where are the brave British comedians who could parley this into good material for the next 10 years?

Reading "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam" this is exactly the medicine these faithful need. Ridicule upon ridicule till they become the laughing stock of the world. And only then, shamed for their lack of reason, will they break free en masse from their brainwashing.

So strike up the band. Enter stage left the silly Morehamhead, his nine year old bride, and the knights who say ni!

Didn't I read last week that the Brits arrested, tried, and convicted several of those peace loving Muslims for fomenting terrorism by holding up the signs that called for beheadings?

Revolting. I spent some time as a tourist in Cambridge two years ago. The tours of churches demonstrated that Cambridge has some very conservative Christians actively involved in the community. The closest thing to a Church of England "evangelical" study Bible is published by Cambridge University Press, not Oxford U Press. (I'm at work and my copy is at home, or I would cite it).

I would have expected such a community to be less suceptible to multiculturalism run amok. Furthermore, England used to have a healthy appetite for satire.

Shame on the Queen and her family for not speaking out against abdicating the values and culture of a great nation.

Good luck there. The brave young Princess who toured the bomb shelters during the blitz, and later as Queen fought hard to hold the Empire together, is now a tired old woman. Her son has demonstrated that he has a head full of mush --- for example, he shows ignorance of his very own institution by wanting to be coronated by representatives from Muslim, Buddhist, Jewish, and other faiths as well as the Archbishop of Canterbury. The only real function of a modern monarch is cultural preservation and continuity; but Prince Charles has already withdrawn from that fight (hint to HRH Chuck: German architects are not the primary enemy in the culture wars).

Prime Minister Blair gets credit over here (USA) for understanding the global threat posed by islamofascism, but domestically his "Cool Britannia" campaign has been a cultural disaster. Take the worst of 1960's swinging London and add to it the worst elements of American commercialism and chain-store conformity, then mix in nanny-state ASBOs (anti-social behavior ordinances that criminalize poor behavior) that have to be seen to be believed, and you have a culture that is a shallow joke compared to the idea of the "British Buldog" that we have over hear in America.

By the way, does it bother you that one of the major architects of your demise was herself a strong woman, Michelle Malkin?

What I love is that this misandrist-extraordinaire never argued that Ms. Malkin wasn't a 'major architect' of her demise.

Mr. Churchill turned in his grave again about the spinelessness of his compatriots.

Tell us, what can we do to affect the behavior at this university? Is there someone in parliament we can all aggravate to hell and beyond? Is there some way to shame this institution into behaving correctly?

The Left at Chambridge show what cowards they are and how easily they will become Islamic converts or slaves.

Shame on the administration and faculty of Cambridge University for not supporting the freedom they have inherited, not earned, from their forefathers. Shame on those that support such surrender in England. Shame on the government of the United Kingdom for allowing such groveling to take place on their own soil. Shame on the Queen and her family for not speaking out against abdicating the values and culture of a great nation.

Where is the spirit of Winston Churchill? Are these the decendants of Nelson, Elizabeth, and Victoria?

The only way I see out of such abhorent sevitude is for major disaster to strike and provide the means by which the Left will loose enough of it's influence for England to come to it's senses. So sad, but I look forward to the day when the Left is seen for what it really is, and England rises from it's knees in the face of the Islamic Assault.

Shire Network News, listed in Hot Air "hot links", gives me hope that there are those that have the courage and common sense of their forefathers. They are worth listening to after reading of such Shame at Cambridge University.

Islam is a religion of peace.

You'd better have meant "Islam is THE religion of peace".

Or else!

Death to all who mix-up their articles of grammar!

I just read a piece last week in Al-Jazeerah where a Cambridge University student was cleared of some kind of internal university charges for writing that all Israeli civilians, by virtue of the fact that they serve in the army, are legitmate terrorist targets. I'm going to see if I can find the linky.
