Are you ready for Senator Clenis?

What a shame that neither BJ nor Dubya produced any male heirs. The obvious next move in this little dynastic arc we’re on would have been for one of their offspring to marry into the family of the other, with the spawn of that unholy union crowned king (or queen) of America.
Let that thought warm you on this chilly President’s Day.
If Hillary Rodham Clinton wins the presidency, some top Democrats would like to see her husband, former President Bill Clinton, appointed to serve out Hillary’s unexpired Senate term…
Such a scenario is not beyond the realm of possibility now that the governor’s mansion in New York is occupied by a Democrat, Eliot Spitzer, who succeeded Republican Gov. George Pataki last month. If Hillary Clinton wins the White House, Spitzer would likely appoint a fellow Democrat to take over her Senate seat…
Although Ickes would love to see Bill Clinton in the Senate, he considers the scenario a long shot.
“I think there’d be a real call on [Spitzer] to appoint a black senator,” Ickes said. “I think there’d be a real call on him to appoint a Hispanic senator.”…
Political analysts say a Senate seat for Bill would go a long way toward solving a potentially nettlesome problem for Hillary — what to do with her husband if they return to the White House.
They make him sound like a big dog or something, like Hillary’s going to “crate” him in the Senate to avoid having him track up the carpet in the West Wing. Look, obviously his skills could be useful to her in moving through legislation, but I can’t imagine she’d be eager to share the political stage. He’d be probably be more useful to her as a sort of ambassador-at-large, traveling the globe on a big apology tour and maybe stopping off for awhile in the Middle East to “heal” Israelis and Palestinians and do a few photo ops with Hamas. Plus, we know that the left is deeply, deeply sensitive to separation of powers issues. Do they really want the chief executive literally in bed with a prominent member of the Senate, as unseparated as two branches could possibly be? That way lies fascism, my friends.
If that’s not depressing enough, apparently now Richard Mellon Scaife thinks Clinton was just swell as president and so, hey, how bad could Hillary be? Exit question one: Scaife’s obviously not going to be the right-wing George Soros we’ve hoped for, so who will? Exit question two: Given the rancid state of the left today, isn’t Scaife right? Isn’t Clinton, for all his personal faults and weakness on terrorism, fairly reasonable by comparison?

It’s a moot point. She’ll be denied even the nomination when Al Gore enters the race.
flipflop on February 19, 2007 at 11:45 AM
After The Pantsuit gets Swiftboated, will she even have the strength to finish her term? Food for thought.
JammieWearingFool on February 19, 2007 at 11:48 AM
That would be going from bad to worse.
Dear God! Are these demons never going away?
OBX Pete on February 19, 2007 at 11:51 AM
Never gonna happen. Everyone knows he’ll become UN Secretary-General before ascending to the heavens on a white cloud.
TexasRainmaker on February 19, 2007 at 11:53 AM
Remain vigilant. There’s still time for an arrangement between P and Chelsea; so I leave you with the words of the Wolf regarding being out of the woods.
Kid from Brooklyn on February 19, 2007 at 11:57 AM
Ick. Dear God, no.
CrimsonFisted on February 19, 2007 at 11:58 AM
Allah,
Fairly reasonable?
Waco (Gas em and Burn em Reno)
Missle technology to the Chinese (for campaign $$$)
Albreight
Burglar
The Pardons (Marc Rich, the Puerto Rican terrorists)
Serial Felonies (Perjury, etc.)
The fact that he was the Chief Law enforcement officer of the US, commiting perjury after perjury, making a mockery of a Grand Jury, being dis-barred, alleged rape of Juanita Broderick (never refuted),
need I go on?
mountainmanbob on February 19, 2007 at 11:58 AM
I thought Bill Clinton was the first black president.
Matticus Finch on February 19, 2007 at 12:02 PM
Since exactly when do you think that might have last occured? “Power breakfasts” – maybe that’s more like it.
eeyore on February 19, 2007 at 12:02 PM
Why not New Yorkers are such suckers. It almost isn’t fair taking advantage of them.
LakeRuins on February 19, 2007 at 12:05 PM
Sure it would be possible, provided that he was the highest bidder…
rw on February 19, 2007 at 12:09 PM
With all his faults Bill would be a major improvement on some of the current crop of Democratic Senators.
duff65 on February 19, 2007 at 12:14 PM
Nah. Spitzer won’t appoint him to replace Hillary. Once she’s elected, she’s going to nominate Bill for Attorney General. That way, she’ll kneecap any future investigations and let Bill get revenge on the DOJ for all the grief he got during his administration.
BacaDog on February 19, 2007 at 12:29 PM
I don’t think you can make the DOJ any worse then it is. So far it seems the only people they are good at prosecuting are the ones wearing our flag and the badge of an American law enforcement agency. Although they did go for that nasty lying witch Martha Stewart and taught her a lesson.
LakeRuins on February 19, 2007 at 12:38 PM
Absolutely. We never knew how good we had it.
Enrique on February 19, 2007 at 12:43 PM
Never think small when it comes to the Clintons. They already ran the “co-president” trick and the media allowed them to get away with that unconstitutional act. How about Clinton takes the Senate seat, plus a co-president office, then “bails” to head of one of the UN agencies – the bigger the budget the better. World Bank … whatever it is, it won’t be small potatoes. Kiss the Constitution goodbye.
naliaka on February 19, 2007 at 12:45 PM
Why do democrats see everyone by the color of their skin? Why a need to appoint a BLACK senator or a HISPANIC senator? Why not the best qualified instead (which would obviously preclude any democrat, but I digress)?
SouthernGent on February 19, 2007 at 12:52 PM
He has been disbarred. Can he be Attorney General then?
CrimsonFisted on February 19, 2007 at 12:52 PM
I don’t think that would stop this pair from doing anything they want to do (and get away with it).
OBX Pete on February 19, 2007 at 12:59 PM
Bill just needs to apply for a White House internship.
He could stand to learn how things work there and Hill might like maid uni.
Never mind the visual, sorry.
Speakup on February 19, 2007 at 1:04 PM
To be quite honest, aside from the creepy collusion among the branches thing, BC wouldn’t be that bad of a Senator, especially compared to those in power today. His funding sources are largely independent of the nutroots, as would be his access to a bully pulpit. He could easily take up the position of maverick Democrat a la Lieberman, become the fulcrum upon which Senate matters balance, and further secure his sainthood in the MSM culture. Again, not very good for the country, but certainly not as bad as the Boxers and Feinsteins.
spmat on February 19, 2007 at 1:09 PM
She will not be president. The Clintons and the Bushes are out, and should be. This is not, and should never be, a monarchy.
P.S. Kid, Jeb’s kid is already married.
Entelechy on February 19, 2007 at 1:10 PM
We can’t have the Clintons back in power again. How many more people will have to die before these two go the way of the dodo bird?
Vince Foster was only the beginning, people. Before you know it, more bodies will be turning up in parks all over Washington, D.C. Mark my words! ;)
jaleach on February 19, 2007 at 1:12 PM
That’s because the Democrats have no real interested in what is good for the constituency but instead are only interested in what is good for the Party.
The democrats run candidates based on things like “electability” and “balanced, racial representativeness” (my step-dad, a die-hard Democrat, actually used this statement in the past) in an attempt to draw more voters (based on demographics) to support their candidate.
It’s too bad for the Democrats (NOT!) that this strategy doesn’t work very often . Look at Al Gore, for example. They tried to portray him as a “southern gentleman” running against “cowboy” Bush in the 2000 elections.
RedinBlueCounty on February 19, 2007 at 1:12 PM
I know. When has that ever stopped dynastic aspirations?
Kid from Brooklyn on February 19, 2007 at 1:13 PM
Kid, no progress has been made then…I sure hope that we are not the Habsburgs.
Entelechy on February 19, 2007 at 1:16 PM
Why would Mr.Bill want to go play games in the Senate? Sorta like becoming a shift supervisor after being CEO.
Limerick on February 19, 2007 at 1:21 PM
Why would Bill want to go back to the White House, wouldn’t Hillary be there?
fogw on February 19, 2007 at 1:25 PM
I always got the feeling Bubba was a hippie because that’s where the easy girls were. He definately wasn’t a revolutionary like Hillary! wants to be.

They seem to be fairly colorblind when it comes to Republicans. I mean why else would they blackface a black man?
Esthier on February 19, 2007 at 5:07 PM
“Clenis, Clenis, Clenis,” cries the worshiping MSM.
“CLENIS, CLENIS, CLENIS!” shouts the legions of liberal women swooning in droves at a possible opportunity to “kiss the golden object” in the manner of St. Monica.
“C-L-E-N-I-S, C-L-E-N-I-S, C-L-E-N-I-S!!” cries the vendors of “smear-proof” lipstick, all hoping to make millions by hawking their product to the gazillions of female Clenis worshipers.
Ah yes.
Politics *IS* a “blood” (or rather, an engorged blood) sport.
Ya gotta love the Clintons…..

Ummmm, no georgej. I do not and cannot.

If you live and pay taxes in the once, great state of New York, it is very difficult to not go out into the garage and hang oneself. Hillary the carpetbagger, Spitzer “I’m a steamroller”, UpChuck, who never saw a camera he didnt like and now talking about putting “I did not have sex with that woman” if she were to succeed in office offers us little hope. Your prayers would be appreciated.
NEMETI IN SYRACUSE on February 19, 2007 at 7:58 PM
Poor dems, they can’t make up their mind whether he’s an asset or a liability. And reading over that sentence, it’s punnerific.

Wait and see – Hilary will take the nomination with very possibly Obama running as Vice. Barring a major contender (such as Gingrich), they will win as the competition is not that good overall.
Putting Bill in as Senator would, under that train of thought, be a stroke (no pun intended) of genius!
I just keep wondering on a daily basis what it will take to wake the American people up to what is happening to our country. So far, with attack, war, bad press, bad politics, lies that neither the politicians or the media bother to hide anymore, and now the very real potential of dynastic succession between either of few families to run the nation – none of this has done it.
What will? – perhaps we collectively deserve what we are getting through our collective apathy and stupidity.
Just imagine – our founding fathers created a government which was in effect, a system designed by geniuses to be able to be run by idiots, and our modern “best and brightest (both parties)” seem unable or unwilling to either run the system or appreciate the sacrifices made by those founding fathers which have been and are still being paid for in the blood of our warfighters.
We are collectively, as a nation, asleep at the wheel – try not to be surprised when the train finally goes off the tracks.
Emmett J. on February 19, 2007 at 10:47 PM
That depends on what your definition of “isn’t” is.
csdeven on February 19, 2007 at 11:26 PM
Not too arrogant of them to think they can just shove the Clenis into the Senate. So much for them thinking the American people would care to vote.
My take on this is that the Seahag knows how bad her positions look, and there are still a lot of women who get a case of the screamin thigh sweats when someone like Obama appears.
I bet this is being floated so as to get those same women to support Hillary.
91Veteran on February 20, 2007 at 12:43 AM
…so then if he were installed in the Senate, would that make him a Clenile implant?
91Veteran on February 20, 2007 at 1:04 AM
Ok, I’ll hold 91Veteran down for anyone that wants to take a pop at him after that one…

I picture the Elmer Fudd cartoon where he is hunting “wabbits”; or in this case “winterns” – OPEN SEASON!
