You’re late. Hope you have TiVo, because we almost doubled the kill counter (and I am calling for a doubling before we finish off the hour).

steveegg on February 19, 2007 at 9:32 PM

Why didn’t the kid just bolt out of the room after he heard his grandpa threaten to kill him? sheesh. that’s just too easy.

pullingmyhairout on February 19, 2007 at 9:35 PM

ooh. bad guy. tom is toast.

pullingmyhairout on February 19, 2007 at 9:37 PM

Ahhhh… cable went out at 9:11 PM EST. I don’t know what’s happening!

BNCurtis on February 19, 2007 at 9:40 PM

So….what is Chloe’s boyfriend going to do?

Ooops! Where’s the sharpshooter for the DAD?!

jatfla on February 19, 2007 at 9:44 PM

Blast… cable just came back on. What’d I miss?

BNCurtis on February 19, 2007 at 9:57 PM

Dad couldn’t kill him.

jatfla on February 19, 2007 at 9:58 PM

Logan – please explain that one.

flyboy777 on February 19, 2007 at 9:58 PM

LOGAN!!!

Oh crap. This week redeemed the last couple.

nailinmyeye on February 19, 2007 at 9:58 PM

Who is Logan???

jatfla on February 19, 2007 at 10:01 PM

Logan – disgraced president from last season.

Slublog on February 19, 2007 at 10:02 PM

This season is still entertaining but it reminds me of the last Gambler movie where Kenny Rogers’ character kept running into people like Bret Maverick and Kwai Chang Caine.

- The Cat

MirCat on February 19, 2007 at 10:05 PM

Very short version:

- Jack whacks a pair of baddies stalking Milo and Marilyn, but not before Milo shoots wildly and gets winged (Now who said that Milo had skills? I want you to take that back.).
- Jack finds out from Marilyn that Pappy is a REAL BAD MAN and that Marilyn set Jack and the now-dead Tac Team up to save her son, then gets the third guy to cooperate in a sting to get to Pappy.
- A Tac team goes to the almost-right safehouse for Gradenko, but finds nobody home. Also, no bomb this time around.
- Morris goes out, guzzles some bourbon like it was Dew and pukes it out, trying to hide the odor with Altoids. Both Chloe and Milo catch him, but semi-accept the truth that he didn’t swallow and keep it down.
- Lennox the disappointed adviser finds out about the plan to bust the Presidential bunker, and because he doesn’t quite buy into it, he gets female-dog-slapped into next week and left to die next week along with the other President Palmer.
- Pappy, smelling Jack with fangs out, takes Josh (or if you prefer, Jack Jr) across the street and gets Jack to trade himself for Jr. Pappy acts like he’s going to whack Jack, but disappears and leaves a phone with a real number (the real number goes to a Spanish-speaking voice mail used by the “24″ crew a couple seasons ago).
- Back in the show, on the other side of the phone at that number, ex-Pres and all-around slimeball Charles Logan.

steveegg on February 19, 2007 at 10:13 PM

lol, you called the number

Let me guess… the former President isn’t really read, but is being held in a secure, undisclosed location, in a persistent coma.

And Jack’s brother isn’t really dead, but is in a semi-comatose state in Oxnard.

In fact, nobody’s dead, it’s all a dream of Jack’s, who’s really still in a Chinese prison camp as I type.

I know, because I’m there too.

Along with one of the 24 scriptwriters.

Unfortunately, he’s in a coma, too.

But we will all wake up in a shower, along with Victoria Principal, before her wind-tunnel grade plastic surgery turned her into a cat creature.

Meanwhile… oh, have to sign off now, because the Chicom guard is coming and he doesn’t realise my left pinkie is actually a finger-shaped Blackberry invisibly surgically-attached to my hand.

profitsbeard on February 19, 2007 at 10:36 PM

YOU CALLED THE NUMBER? Oh,oh…my side is splitting.

silenced majority on February 19, 2007 at 10:38 PM

Roughly:

“Bill, you’ve got to trust me on this!”
“That’s not good enough, Jack.”

Bill has outlived his usefulness.

thegreatbeast on February 19, 2007 at 10:53 PM

It’s also good to know the liquor stores will stay open during a nuclear crisis. Now that’s a relief.

thegreatbeast on February 19, 2007 at 10:56 PM

Did anyone else think that Jack’s sister-in-law was about the stupidest person ever when Milo told her to run and she just kind of screamed and jumped in circles? Yeah, I’m ready for her to be killed off.

tiekitwist on February 19, 2007 at 11:11 PM

I was kind of hoping/expecting that once Josh was free, his mom was going to come around and blow the elder Bauer away, saving Jack in the nick of time.

Didn’t like seeing Jack get down on his knees voluntarily.
(Why is it that Jack’s potential executioners always want him to get down on his knees anyway? That’s only one step below the stupidity level of a James Bondian villain’s elaborate killing schemes.)

The elder Bauer is a ‘patriot’??? I like my scenario above better. Too many shades of grey for my taste the last couple of weeks. I’m sorta glad Lennox got cold feet at the last moment, though.

LOGAN??? Give me a break. Only with a corrupt and/or incompetent Justice Department would he be be able to be free enough to be ‘a player’….. OH, wait… That at least DOES mirror reality.

LegendHasIt on February 19, 2007 at 11:22 PM

Notice the number of replies in these threads decline every episode, as does the quality.

Patriot33 on February 20, 2007 at 12:06 AM

If you want to watch quality TV, watch Lost, The Office, Friday Night Lights, Prison Break, and Heroes–in that order.

Patriot33 on February 20, 2007 at 12:07 AM

No, I didn’t call it. I used my Bauer Mind Tricks to get one of the suckers head honchos at B4B to call it.

steveegg on February 20, 2007 at 12:20 AM

[Col. Klink]LOOOOGAAAN!!![/Col. Klink]

Sean M. on February 20, 2007 at 1:05 AM

did Logan go to jail at the end of last season? i don’t remember. what happened to his wife?

pullingmyhairout on February 20, 2007 at 8:35 AM

Thanks for the summary, steveegg

BNCurtis on February 20, 2007 at 8:53 AM

Lost is worse than 24 this season. Yikes! It’s lost nearly half it’s viewership. No one knows what’s going on with that show.

Best show on tv–I’ll say it again, “The Unit”. Hands down. Snake-Doctor could kick Jack’s ass lickety split.

robblefarian on February 20, 2007 at 9:10 AM

Next season Chloe is going to be President.

drjohn on February 20, 2007 at 11:13 AM

I love 24, but Logan – oh no!!! What will happen next? Almost gagged with the elder Bauer claiming to be a “patriot.” Are he and Logan in this together? M-m-m-m.

Agree with robblefarian that “The Unit” is best on TV. Have watched it from the beginning and just love it.

bjb on February 20, 2007 at 11:40 AM

Tnx, Steveegg, I missed the whole episode… I had a class to teach and didn’t hit “record” on the machine.
