Marcotte’s Apologia, Ace’s Rebuttal

Amanda Marcotte laid it all out for Salon how the howling right wing mobs, fresh from their bloody assaults on Salt Lake City’s Bosnians, hated strong opinionated women so much they ran her out of a job.
The anti-woman mobs were led in part, Marcotte notes, by that strong, opinionated, “pugnacious” Michelle Malkin, whom–my, this is embarrassing–I had thought was actually also a woman herself.
Maybe this is one of those things like being a minority conservative: if you’re conservative, you can’t be a real woman.
Anyway, if you would like just the Cliff’s Notes of Marcotte’s ranting (and save the time it takes to register to read it at Salon), check out Ace of Spades’ throrough dissection instead. There’s a content warning, but mostly for direct quotes of what Marcotte said before she, um, adjusted her archives.
Quick taste:
She’s a g*******d liar, she got caught, and now she wants to blame the “patriarchy” for not lettin’ a gal just have some fun and use her scary “abilities” to draw a huge audience.

Wait – Marcotte’s a woman??
Well, then – shame on all of you!

Ha, a feminist whining because she is a female being picked on. I have never understood that, hiding behind a skirt to say they don’t need a skirt, or they have grown beyond that. Or I am a feminist hear me roar, put don’t shout me down because I am a female. Or I am a female so I am at a disadvantage in the blogging world because everyone knows I am a female because I write about it, or…I don’t know, leftist feminists are so confused. They should follow the lead of the real feminists, the conservatives like Michelle or Condi…real women that make there own way and not whine about be a girl.

Perfect! Thank you!

The logic of the left holds. When a female becomes conservative, she ceases to be a woman. Next ideological perplexity, please…

Is the Panadagon site meter Ace linked in his post correct?
If so, my local small-town Netroots blogger gets about 3X the traffic. Maybe it’s because he writes respectfully and doesn’t cuss and seeth all the time.

BWHAHAHAHAHAH! Good one.

Good grief. This sad excuse for a woman is in need of extensive therapy. Talk about rationalizing your behavior. She blamed everyone and everything for what happened except herself.

Summed up perfectly!
Pablo said it best on Protein Wisdom. That, however, irritates those who are into insanity.

You win the thread, on Comment #2!
Congratulations!
Entelechy, I was just thinking of Ayaan, and Michelle. And Brigette Gabriel and Wafa Sultan… We live in very interesting times, don’t we?

Nonie Darwish is a great one too.
We sure do Pablo. No real men/women left in Washington, only winies and narcissists.
Do you blog regularly on PW or are you just temporarily a guest? I had no idea you were a blogger…but good for/on you! Regards,

Check out Melissa McEwan who put her version on what she must of thought would be friendly grounds, the Guardian’s comment is free section. She is getting ripped for the most part and her defense is more myopic than Marcotte.

Jeff leaves the keys laying around, and I take pw for a ride now and then.
But it’s a better blog when Goldstein writes it. I’d rather he did it.

THAT is funny, her head would explode if someone talked to her like that…although a more accurate rendition would read “Hey, petri dish panties,..”

I’m just praying that Sat Night Live does a skit on this story this week.

I wonder if that might be what is making her most angry…she is being relegated back to the oblivion she was in prior to edwards hiring her. With that inflated delusional ego, she has to justify this to herself somehow. either way, just reading what she has written, I feel sorry for her. What a sad, empty, angry little world she has made for herself. I, for one, will pray for her. God requires that of me.
still468 on February 16, 2007 at 9:00 PM
What is the deal with her claims about being opressed because she is a woman? Was there no male authority figure in her life, where was she raised? In a men’s prison? I’m being serious. This is 2007, and I’m 42. I was raised during the equal rights struggle. I can honestly say that I have never been slighted, nor have I witnessed any other women being slighted because of gender. Has this chick stopped to think that it might be her less than appealing personality and not her gender that is causing her angst?

Of course J. Goldstein is the Master, but everyone needs a brake, now and then, see-dubya, and it’s good he lets you and others take an occasional ’spin’, in a good sense :)
I find the blogging world intriguing and addictive, in a good way, and still in its infancy. Lots of potential. Don’t know how we lived without the internet.

Life is like a box of chocolates. Sometimes you get a nasty one and you spit it out. John got a nasty one and spit it out.

It’s a darn good thing that Marcotte is totally secure in her female feminine feminism. Can’t imagine how bad things would get if she were just a wee bit paranoid about men hating her.
The fact is, Ms. Marcotte, you cannot write, you can barely think, and you are nodoby anybody would waste the effort to hate. You spewed filth and swill in the name of a presidential candidate, or at least on his dime, and canning you was his only chance at staying viable for another week. Had you been male, the results would have been identical.
You will be completely forgotten within the next ten days, so enjoy the attention while it’s there.
Freelancer on February 16, 2007 at 11:23 PM
That loon is a professional victim looking for a male to attack her. I don’t see how any male would want to be within arms reach of her for fear she would accuse him of some lurid act. Edwards dodged a potential sexual harassement scandle by firing that moonbat!
Another thing……I don’t get it…she rants about how much sex she is having and I gotta tell ya, I don’t think there are that many guys out there that would think her attractive. I sure don’t.

Dear Amanda,
Welcome to the obscurity that you SO RICHLY deserve!
georgej on February 17, 2007 at 3:17 AM
This is a so-typical response by extreme leftists when caught in their malevolent deeds or words. It’s a continued evasion of personal responsibility and further hate-filled attacks on conservatives and/or religious people.
They combine the “I’m a victim” mantra with the “evil right-wing neo-cons” and/or “evil Christians and/or Jewish” mantras. It’s really a pretty worn standard formula.
Of course, with the bulk of the MSM being leftists, there’s a definite reluctance in the MSM to hold leftists to account.
However, if she’d been a Republican candidate’s staff blogger and made such vile anti-Catholic or general anti-Christian remarks…
DavePa on February 17, 2007 at 11:44 AM
Neither Ace, nor the comments posted here seemed to point out the most ironic part of the Salon article. Amanda is playing the victim card here — insisting that she has been on the receiving end of “sexist abuse” that has been perpetrated primarily by members of the opposite sex. But IMHO this victim’s card “falls flat” when I know for certain that I have never used a four letter word to describe female anatomy (in reference to ANY woman, at ANY website, at ANY time). By using words like tw*t to describe herself in her postings, Amanda is guilty of abusing herself WAY more than many of us gentlemanly-types ever could.

I wonder if Edwards will call for an independent investigation of who in the Bush administration instigated the campaign to ‘out’ two of his bloggers? I know that Fitzgerald will soon be looking for new assignment.
