Both parties have those who feel this way about us – the great unwashed mass of those who are not fit to lick their boots.

They’re called elitists, and they are rather endemic throughour government.

The real pity is that it is our sons and daughters (as well as those of us who served) who fight and die in the wars and conflicts that keep these “people” free so that they can practice economic servitude upon the mass whom they shamelessly exploit for their own ends – power and profit.

It will be a good in America when the mass finally wakes up.

The issue isn’t who wants their kids to do what job. It isn’t whether this job or that is “honorable” in any one person’s opinion. The issue is trying to justify a total failure to enforce the sovereignty of this nation using such an argument. Who cares what job anyone wants, or wants for someone else? That doesn’t get you within a million miles of rationalizing illegal behavior.

Don’t fall for misdirections like that. Stick to the foundation. Is the behavior illegal? Yes, yes it is. Then ENFORCE THE LAW. That is the citizenry’s rightful demand of their government.

So we can assume the Democrats are looking at these Latin American “emigres” as future votes and the Republicans merely see them as grist for an economic mill. Does anyone see any vested interest in either side in making these folks vested members of the middle-class? And where does that leave the average folks who still believe the spirit and will of the American worker can move mountains?

More than anything else, it is the unchecked expansion of national government programs that is damaging this nation. If we didn’t have the rampant socialist programs, do you honestly think illegal immigration would be as big of a problem as it is now? Cows are attracted to grass, fruit flies to fruit, dogs to bones, and illegal immigrants to free money. Take away the attractant and the problem goes away, or at least diminishes.

Well, Charles Rangel and Hillary Clinton will bring back slavery big-time they ever figure out how to get that Universal Draft Bill passed. The MSM, with Associate Press has been working overtime to crank out pro-Draft drivel that is placed in newspapers aacross the country. (disguised as failures of the volunteer army) They want all Americans 18-26 to be eligible to be drafted for either military service OR National Service consisting of homeland security AND FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE.
Got that? Any other purpose, one’s fate to be assigned by a committee. Rampant favoritism, bribery, political retributions, will all be the order of the day if Hillary gets her communist, collective way.

My previos post was a little sarcastic {I have a big problem with that}, but yes.

Why may you ask?….. one of my many “first jobs” was landscaping, where I learned, over time, a great deal about soil, plants, types of grass, irrigation, plumbing, soldering, PVC pipe, grading, etc, etc. It is not my “job” today, but working around the house, guess who has a working knowledge, doesn’t have to hire someone, and takes pride in his work, while teaching his children?

Second “first job”, dishwasher… where I moved on to as a prep cook, then a line cook, eventually learning to love to cook, learning new techniques and recipes that I still enjoy today. It is not my “job” today, but I love being able to cook a good meal for my family be it in the kitchen, at the beach, or on top of a mountain.

I can go on and on…..

Do you see a trend here, or maybe a lesson in life?

Yes.

It is precisely Rove’s son (and my own, and those of the rest of us in the educated elite) who should work picking tomatoes or making beds, or washing restaurant dishes, or mowing lawns, especially when they’re young, to help them develop some of the personal and civic virtues needed for self-government.

Precisely…….. If you don’t, you would turn into a Kennedy, Kerry, Clinton, et al.

News Flash for you: your 16 year old daughter and 17 year old son are uneducated and unskilled, dude. These are the jobs which will help them become responsible and productive in their future work.

Thanks Rove! Glad to see you’re looking out for people like me. People like you are the reason I’m almost finished with this party.

I had a lot of professors in my MBA program that had NEVER held a ‘real job’. Like your example, from high school through PHD, all on daddy’s dime, but then straight into ‘teaching’ people many of whom already had years of real experience in the field.

Then, there was the Dean of my mining engineering school, who very excitedly whispered to me on a field trip: “Isn’t this great! I’ve never been in a real mine before.”

He had held a lot of jobs with and consulted to lots of big mining companies, but always from behind a computer. Nice guy, smart as heck, but I lost a lot of respect for him at that moment; Seems to me like a mining engineer should have worn a hard hat and gotten his hands and clothes dirty at least once before he gets to be Dean of an engineering school.

I did pick tomatoes and other crops for pay when I was young. I also mowed yards, scraped gum off the floors in a theater, emptied bed pans in a nursing home, bussed tables in a restaurant, roofed houses, worked in a meat processing plant and worked as a security guard. I graduated high school, went to a Jr. College and then a State College where I first received my BS degree and then a Masters degree. The American work ethic is exactly what made America great IMHO.

I was not thinking of racism, but I did think it had an aristocratic/servant kind of a snobbery flavor to it.

And believe me, I am not one who sees things in terms of class warfare.

As to the source, since it’s from NRO I will give them the credibility that he knows his source and it was not just a rumor.
