CNN only went as far to quote the Catholic League’s William Donahue and read part of Marcotte’s post about the Duke scandal. CNN, however, did not refer to any of her posts where the f-word (and in some instances mother f-word) was used. So its audience didn’t get the full, rich flavor of Marcotte’s unhinged writings.
In other news, Iowahawk has some emails between Marcotte and Edwards. Content warning.

This still sets a dangerous precedent in the run for ‘08.
Bloggers guns were still blazing on this story when Edwards threw in the towel. He has given us amazing power.
There’s blood in the water.

So….pictures Friday of Marcotte being dragged out of her Prius with a soggy diaper around her ankles?

The blogosphere is vast and powerful. To wade within its population without some measure of guard or thought is to do so at the peril of the various campaigns.
Edwards loses, no matter what happens.

Just read those Iwoahawk emails.
We get it, ok, she’s addicted to the f-bomb. Funny. Especially the “F**king Sincerely,” part. But let’s try to avoid lampooning ourselves into the same boat as the libs…

Oh, no doubt Edwards loses no matter what. These little victories allow me to stomach the liberalism I’m exposed to on a daily basis in the Washington D.C. metro area.
Please keep blogging their ICBMs of propaganda out of the sky. It keeps me sane.
BTW, doesn’t Edwards strike anyone else as being the possible love-child of Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter?

Now that would be a sight, Yikes! (still laughing)

That Iowahawk satire is currently #1 in my Funniest Blog Posts of 2007 list. I know it’s only February, but the bar has just been raised.

LOL!

Iowahawk - hilarious is an understatement!
I peaked - the rats in Huffpoo,
KPOS, DU, and many others are acting like the German kid in the Vent.Losing Ned Lamont was peanuts - this is a real war!

…huh? If you’re saying Iowahawk might be rendered ineligible to run a campaign blog, somehow I don’t think that’s a concern for him.
In other news, Marcotte just changed the name of her blog to Pwn3dagon.

You know a Democrat scandal has gotten completely out of control when the enemedia can’t pretend to ignore it any more.
ReubenJCogburn on February 7, 2007 at 10:36 PM
Best one yet.

What Marcotte puts out on the web is only slightly more vile than what you read any day on Kos. She simply has the gift of gag whereas Kos has the gift of…well…I can’t think of any gifts he has. Perhaps I missed it, but I don’t recall CNN shining a negative light on Kos’ support/support withdrawn for various candidates. It’s not like he didn’t open up his site for non-stop campaign support.
thedecider on February 7, 2007 at 10:59 PM
“Screw them” was never actually an official member of anyone’s campaign that I know of.
Kerry, Lament, Dick Turbin, etc., all strung KOS and others along during the last election, not officially a part of them, and not officially cutting any ties.
Even after, Kerry and Turbin leaving little love-notes to them so as to keep them on the hook.
It’s a fine line they walk, having to appease the nutballs while not being so closely associated with them that they could not weasel away from anything publicly embarrassing. Democrats know what enemies they would make, and you know what they say about keeping enemies close.
Marcotte and the other loon’s embarrassments just got a little too public.

I still can’t watch Wolfe Blitzer without picturing him in a dress {previous post}…….. see the powers of the Blog?
PinkyBigglesworth on February 7, 2007 at 11:24 PM
That’s true, but he did openly support several (those who threw a bone at him to let him (at least) feel powerful). All only proving he was pwned. I also don’t recall a candidate openly recruiting Kos, but it was a fine line.

Poor little Amanda - the CNN rightwing machine is out to f#*k her. CNN is part of the f#*king Buschco.

It’s gonna be an interesting race to the 2008 elections. Biden has already done himself in and now Edwards gets his campaign toasted by his two little foul mouthed leftist blog monsters. They can’t even blame the right for these casualties either, Hillary took them down by herself (Unless suddenly CNN is a mouthpiece for the great Republican conspiracy) This is going to be seriously fun to watch.

Blitztard says “Catholic” like its a dirty word… man I hate this guy.. I know not very christian of me but the guy is a complete moron..

(singing) “Amanda…Amanda…my baby baby girl…”

I think Gut said it best on his blog. The lesson learned is that a political candidate is better off elevating a no-name member of their staff to be blog-master. There are too many ways to derail using an established blogger. The risk/reward ratio is way out of wack.
I’m sure LGF, HotAir, Ace, Goldstein, etc. all have skeletons lingering in previous posts.

The BIG question is, who thought it was a good idea to hire Marcotte in the first place? Did anyone bother researching her history?
natesnake on February 8, 2007 at 9:44 AM
and of course the angry left is supporting their hate vending online bigots. w00t!
One Angry Christian on February 8, 2007 at 10:23 AM
My theory is, the hire was suggested by some ultra-lib staffer who really liked Amanda’s stuff. He figured she was obscure enough that no one would actually know who she was, and was unfamiliar enough with certain corners of the dextrosphere to know that there were people who were already familiar with her “work”. The suggestion filtered its way up through people who had heard of these “blog” things but had no idea what they’re really about.
I figure blogs are in a phase like where Rock music was in the late 60s, according to Frank Zappa. He said that at that time, no one in the record business had the slightest clue what was going on in music, so they signed everyone. Blogs are to electoral politics what the rock acts were to the record business at the time. In another, say, two election cycles, people will have wised up.
Farmer_Joe on February 8, 2007 at 10:25 AM
I’m sure your theory is correct. But I’m still confused that no one took the time to research Marcotte’s history. We’re not talking about electing a city official, this is a failed Vice Presidential candidate now running for President. Surely there are other people working on the campaign that are blog savy.

Amanda graduated in the same high school class as my son and in fact was the girl friend of his best friend so I saw I fair amount of her. Three things to me stand out: she was exhibitionistic by nature, she had nothing but contempt for the other students in general although half were Hispanic and most were the “salt of the earth” types she claims she want to promote politically, and although being intelligent, she was not nearly as smart as she thought she was.
At the senior prom, she dressed up as a transvestite witch a la Rocky Horror Picture Show.. She failed to get much of a reaction because no one had seen the movie and few would have appreciated the movie if they had. She thereupon lectured to the gathering there (there were 70 graduates total that year) what her costume represented and how important the movie is as a cultural event. When the gathering still “didn’t get it,” she sulked for the remainder of the prom. She attracted enough attention to get a scholarship to St. Edwards, a decent Catholic college in Austin. I’m sure it now regrets this.
As is so common with fairly intelligent people who overestimate their intelligence, she has been attracted to an extremist ideology that neatly explains all of the world’s happenings. Her blog with her “colorful” language and over-the-top opinions has given her the attention she craves. However, she seems to be the classic example of the Peter Principle in being promoted beyond her abilities and the chickens hatched by the conflict between her high ideals and serious personality flaws are coming home to roost.
