A masterpiece of the genre, my friends, its sinister retelling of one of modern cinema’s most beloved rom-coms revealing the heart of darkness that beats just below the surface of what you and I laughably call “love.”
Or, maybe it’s just a funny send-up.

Much better movie.

Harsh. A trailer like that might bring in the young male crowd. Of course, after they watched the actual film, I wouldn’t want to be the one they blame for getting tricked into a legendary chick flick.

I have never and will never watch that movie, and I imagine this spoof is probably more entertaining anyway.
That said, you ever wonder how Pretty Woman would have gone down, in the real world?

Only a content warning? What about this preview clip’s “climactic” ending? No warning for THAT huh?

Amazing what some creepy music and clever editing can do.

This was created by Reuters, right?

All it’s missing is the voice of the guy in the GEICO commercial: “This time, pay-back’s for real.”

About 15 minutes ago, I was flicking around the dial and got semi-consciously lulled into the first few minutes of “You’ve Got Mail” on Cinemax WMAX. Seeing this post (referencing another of the interchangeable sapfests plied by TomMeg & Co) was the equivalent of someone calling you on your cell phone while you’re in the car, you pick up, and the caller realizes (right around the time that you suddenly realize) that you’ve been listening to Madonna or Avril Lavigne or Carly Simon or something else that you semi-consciously and self-loathingly enjoy rocking out to. Consider me duly shamed. My pennance is a Cops marathon and 12 straight hours of SpikeTV.

I really liked that movie………It was very funny!

Haha. Perfect description.

Now I’d see THIS movie!

It’s stunning, the time some people have on their hands.
WHMS was a good movie, but does anybody think that actually happens? A year or so doing the friends thing and … wham?
Nope.

Much more entertaining than the original. I still say the only decent movie that Meg Ryan was in was Inner Space. The rest of her career was as meaning less as Ben Affleck’s entire existence.

Eh.
The Ugly American on February 2, 2007 at 9:10 PM
Randy, consider watching it for that one line “I’ll have what they’re having”. A tough guy like you, might not laugh, but I bet you’d smile too…
Entelechy on February 2, 2007 at 9:51 PM
I’d still do her. I’ve had a crush on Meg for over 20 years.
She’s my baby doll, and I’ll fight anyone who bad-mouths her, ya hear?!

Can a man and a woman just be friends. Sure, just as the mayor of San Fransisco.

Great mash-up. For those of you who like this kind of stuff, I highly recommend:

“Men and women can’t be friends.”
That hurts, Allah. ;-)
Karol on February 2, 2007 at 10:45 PM
Huh, thought for sure it was going to be a Brokeback moment.

I’m far from a tough guy, and I like a wide variety of movies, but isn’t this movie the go to “chick flick”? I’m much more of a scary movie guy. I’m always looking for a good scary movie, but so many try and fail. Just ordered “The Wicker Man” on On Demand last night and it was pretty scary I thought, however as many people said in reviews I read, the end is a big let down. Your heart is pumping and then it just ends.
Also, while we’re (somewhat) on the topic, best show on television, in syndication on TBS, is The King of Queens. Well, Seinfeld obviously, but it’s time for a Seinfeld break and I’ve just recently been introduced to KoQ and it is unbelievably hilarious. For anyone like myself who just never even watched an episode for whatever reason, give it a chance. Awesome.

I wish to declare, without reservation, that I loved this film.
Does this make me any less of a man?
Do I not feel too?
lazerua on February 2, 2007 at 11:43 PM
lazerua, you’re just fine, in answer to your first question. The second one you have to answer yourself :)
RW, it’s a different kind of movie, and not only for chicks. You won’t be scared but I think you’ll like it and it will make you smile, or at times laugh out loud. Regards,
Entelechy on February 3, 2007 at 12:18 AM
I must respectfully disagree. I don’t know if it has a laughtrack but as most sitcoms have them I assume it does as well. I like to determine when I should laugh. Therefore, the absolutely best sitcom on TV is Scrubs. Although my mom would not approve of me watching it, so let’s just not tell her okay? But if she finds out I’ll just tell her Leslie (sister) watches Desperate Housewives and I’ll be in the clear!

HEY! Disin’ Carly Simon will not be tollerated!
;)

Too close for comfort, Allah. How bout some lighthearted and invigorating Tara Conner news instead….

Kinda funny. That diner scene is classic.

Another useful movie to program young girls into the western feminist mind-set. Which is, all women are perfect, all men are bad.
