I know. I just read the previous posting and thought of that line. I’m actually in agreement with you. :-)

How does Mark Levin qualify as a Nobel Peace Prize nominator? He doesn’t seem to fit any of the criteria, and Nobel nominations are done in secret (and kept secret for 50 years).

Then how do we know that Al Gore was nominated?

I know that’s a tongue-in-cheek line from House, which is fine. So don’t take this wrong. A thorough analysis of history shows that guns save more lives than they take. Nobal claimed to have regretted his invention for all the violence it could spawn, just as Einstein regretted nuclear fusion, saying that the next world war would be fought with the atom, and the one after that with sticks and stones. But “peace through superior firepower” is more than a slogan. Just remember this, only a tiny percentage of those who died during the regimes of Stalin, Hitler, Mao, or Pol Pot were killed using gun powder.

It isn’t out of line for a peace award to have Nobel’s name on it. It is out of line that it is too often awarded to idiots who have no respect for life, and wishful thinking instead of a clue about how to gain peace in the real world.

What we really need is for someone to pony up the cash to fund a “Liberty Prize” to award to someone who contributes to the cause of liberty on this benighted world of ours. We could nominate Winston Churchill and Ronald Reagan posthumously!

That would be the Heritage Foundation’s Clare Boothe Luce award, with which President Reagan was honored in 1997. Other recent winners include Lady Thatcher (the presenting speaker for Reagan’s award), William F. Buckley, and Milton Friedman.

Bill Handel worked the nomination out with a Congressman from Calif. who remains unnamed as they don’t have to reveal themselves, ever, (based on nothing in particular) just in order to prove to his audience, and anyone really, how easy it is to get nominated. He did this during the fight to keep Tookie Williams from being executed.

Tookie was put to death on December 13, 2005 – thus, Bill’s nomination must have taken place just weeks ahead of that…It was indeed a great occasion to point out the worthlessness of the prize and Bill made lots of fun of himself & process.

Bet you thought Al Gore was a shoe-in for the prize. Now he has some real competition. Rush Limbaugh!!…

Nominate me–they can keep the medal, I just want the CASH. There is cash involved, isn’t there??? The kind that I wouldn’t have to donate to some damn peaceful cause.
