[...] That’s demonstrably not true, Mr. Foer. It is, however, true beyond the shadow of a doubt that liberal pundits and blogs make a handsome living off denying any good news that emanates from Iraq and playing up any bad news that comes from Iraq. Have you heard Jack Murtha acknowledge that he grossly overstated the Haditha case? Have you read the post in which Glenn Greenwald acknowledges the “Anbar awakening?” Didn’t think so. Murtha’s too busy stuffing his face with pork and Greenwald is too busy writing impenetrable posts about his bestseller to bother acknowledging reality. [...]

<blockquote>Pilots are indignant once again.</blockquote>

But with this one, it's almost as if he didn't watch the clip.

<blockquote>They spin negative or left, YOU spin positive or right.</blockquote>

I'm quite certain that part of Bad News, Good News was the bad news.

Nice try, Michelle. I respect your effort to balance out the negative but COME ON, please....

They spin negative or left, YOU spin positive or right. Whether water spins around the toilet drain counterclockwise or clockwise, left or right, it is still circling the drain. It all balances out, but it changes none of the reality.

Flash a map with green anamorphic shapes of regions and say Iraq army controls these? Really. Than you say (correctly & fairly) there are serious problems with infiltration in the Iraq Army and Iran influence? Wow that is good news(?) bad news.

There aren't any good answers, Rep or Dem. It's a terrible situation and that's the truth. How did we get here? Suspending checks & balances of ALL branches of government, two party system, true open debate and the constitution. A sad and hard lesson learned (again). Let's not forget. Even the MSM is part of this check & balance as are now blogs like hot air. By all means balance each other and check, but don't waste time with ad hominem attacks.

Did or does the MSM report spin or untruth? Well probably some times, but so does Fox and Hot Air. Michelle claimed the AP made up a source in the Iraq police force who reported 6 people were shot & burned alive in sectarian violence in a mosque last year. The man's name is Captain Jamil Hussein, who is real and now faces prosecution because he talked to reporters, thanks to Michelle outing him.

We should have the truth even if it does not jive with your belief system or wishes. This cry & whine that everyone else are liars and you have the only truth is a dangerous game. Last week Fox news was caught reporting slander and pure BS against Obama and Clinton. The eagerness to screw the other guy (fellow Americans) is disturbing on both sides. It gets us no where. Our people are really dying in Iraq.

This is what the terrorist want, to kill our democracy, freedom and freedom of speech, to be like them.

Michelle read the history of the West meddling in the Mid-East for the last 100 years (or even 1000 years). We are repeating the past. The writing is on the wall.

The sub-text to the video, a little longer, a few more troops, a few more 100's of billions and of course a few more 1000 American lives will do the trick. Sincere no doubt, but naive or political wishing.

One road cleared means what? It can be mined tomorrow. It is more than a civil war, gorilla war, proxy war (Iran) or insurgency. It's complex beyond any one view. Free speech is key.

Islam and that part of the world will never be like the West or like the West. If they where not sitting on huge oil reserves, we would not care about that region or people. Fact. We need to get off their oil.

Blogger's like Michelle and Fox news have a positive effect on the MSM's balance even if they spin. I just heard a BBC radio report ending with a positive comment from security forces saying they think they can overcome the insurgents. I thought it was fair. They did call the insurgency deadly. Is that not true?

It's like a guy whose legs where cut off by a train, he was happy he was able to save his shoes. In reality there's little good to report despite the rays of sunshine.

I don't want to say the positives Michelle reported are trivial or contrived, but what does an Iraq Army General giving last respects to dead American soldiers really mean to me or the family that lost their brother, son, father.

What affect will that have on that family for this and future generations? Respect for a hero no doubt, but I would be happier if we had less dead hero's. We can't totally ignore the cost in human life and treasure.

We are paying now, and our children and their children will be paying for Iraq for decades to come in many ways. The first Iraq war was a huge success and we even where paid for it. We also had the moral imperative than, which we no longer have in the eyes of the world. Yes the world's opinion counts and there are consequences when we ignore it.

Rumsfeld flew over Iraq and said, "I didn't see any explosions (from 39,000 feet).......you'd think Henny Penny it was bad from what you read." Well when you say it that way......

Sadly yesterday, Baghdad Market Blast, 132 people killed and 305 wounded; it really happened, and tomorrow ......... Why does Fox news NEVER report of fluff over the negative?

<strong>Propaganda left or right, is propaganda. I do not think the American People or the World are against Bush and the Iraq war from slanted reporting. The facts are undeniable.</strong>

<blockquote>Some one tell Ruper Murdoch to do “Cops: Iraq” <strike>

I don't have a link handy (though it's probably here on HA somewhere), but Iraqi TV has a show very much like that, which is extremely popular.

I can tell you not to bother looking for it in the New York Times, though.

Michelle and Bryan, again, thank you. Just thank you.</strike></blockquote>

Lawrence,
<blockquote>The belief by the anti-war in Iraq crowd is that the Iraq war was lost from the start. Nothing we are doing is winning anything, and there is nothing we could do in the future to change this. And anything anyone says positive about Iraq is just a bunch of nonsense.</blockquote>

And this belief held by the politically correct, multicultural, progressive, "all you need is love", "Peace Now!" crowd is founded in another belief: That Iraqis are all savages and subhuman idiots, forever incapable of peaceful self-governance and maintaining an orderly society.

And they call us racists. Projection, anyone?

Some one tell Ruper Murdoch to do "Cops: Iraq" Not only will the ratings be through the roof for him, but this would be great for the country to see what is actually going on. As for who is going to hold the cameras out in the field, if yoiu can't find a hollywood cameraman to do it, I bet you there would be several military volunteers.

Thank you, Michelle & Bryan. I continue to look forward to each of your reports from Iraq, and I am still amazed at the one-sided reporting from the MSM. But as you one said, the MSM's mantra is "If it bleeds, it leads". And this mundane stuff you report and link to isn't headline material to the MSM. It should be, by God, and I think our MSM had completely fallen down on the job, or consciously shirked their responsibilities. I am leaning much more on believing the latter, as opposed to the former. Keep up the fantastic work, everyone! I for one, truly appreciate it.

But as you one said, the MSM’s mantra is “If it bleeds, it leads”. And this mundane stuff you report and link to isn’t headline material to the MSM. It should be, by God, and I think our MSM had completely fallen down on the job, or consciously shirked their responsibilities. I am leaning much more on believing the latter, as opposed to the former. Keep up the fantastic work, everyone! I for one, truly appreciate it.

You and Bryan brought back a good bit of pertinent info in the short time you had. You must have been going non-stop to have collected all that you were able to bring home, which is quite a bit of good stuff. We are all so very blessed to have good people, as you two, go over and at least try to show the American people some 'truths' about Iraq. I just wish I could help in disseminating this valuable intel to all of America.

<strong>What can we do for YOU?!?!?</strong>

I'm sure many feel as I do.

The belief by the anti-war in Iraq crowd is that the Iraq war was lost from the start. Nothing we are doing is winning anything, and there is nothing we could do in the future to change this. And anything anyone says positive about Iraq is just a bunch of nonsense.

The mindset of most reporters that the war is already lost dictates their interpretation that everything they see in Iraq is bad, regardless.

Route Irish becoming safer means nothing to these people because as long as there is an hint of danger everything is a failure.

<strong>Great Vent Michelle!</strong>

When I watch Michelle's vents about Iraq I am left with an entirely different picture of reality in Iraq. The MSM really is distorting the truth by reporting only what fits into the Left's desired image, and that fits their agenda.

Bravo Michelle for keeping attention on how the MSM's "reporting" is not an accurate picture, in this case by omission.

A bit of bad news to report and a bit of good news to help give a better picture of the overall situation in Iraq. Reporting from Iraq as it should be. Thanks Michelle.

Dang, girl.

You just gave a clinic on the difference between 'objective reporting' and 'being a propogandist tool'.

And that's what I like about this place: you get the straight poop; the good, the bad, and the blondie.

We all know there is an opinion thrown in (as with any news report), but at least we know that credible facts have been vetted, sourced and presented with which to make our own conclusion.

A great recent example was Allahpundits 'JAM' post down below which warned of the sadr thug <strike>infestation</strike> infiltration into the ISF & police.
http://hotair.com/archives/2007/02/01/must-read-us-troops-say-iraqi-army-in-baghdad-is-filthy-with-jam/

Bryan added an update with more details concerning the good, the bad, and the ugly about this seemingly never ending problem. Great stuff that needs to go national TV.

No wonder the usual 'propogandist tool' suspects in the msm cess pool don't like you guys.
