He simply let slip the mask held up to hide the hate of the Left.

Bush flew onto an Aircraft Carrier to give a hearty thankyou to our guys and gals by noting the end of the Iraq army with a statement of “Mission Accomplished”.

That mission was. The reason the Left was angry was because it was a thankyou to the military they despise.

The new mission is peacekeeping. It’s cost 20 times the lives and is still a work-in-progress. It’s ugly… but not as ugly as the unfounded criticisms.

The (D)emocrats only plan is to demand “Hands off Iran” demonstrating that French oil profits and Russian arms sales are more important the the (D)emocrats then Human Rights violations, the export of terrorism or a nuclear holocaust.

A nuclear holocaust their appeasement enables:

If one doubts any of this, just reflect on why the Democrats have not offered any specific alternative plans. And when pressed, they usually talk only of “talking” and thereby bring embarrassment to even their liberal questioners.” — VDH

Arkin personal history includes (according to an Hugh Hewitt back in 2003):

Arkin cut his teeth with the lefty Institute for Policy Studies, and went from there to positions with Greenpeace, the Natural Resources Defense Council, and Human Rights Watch. He has been a regular columnist for the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. In recent years he has taken more mainstream work as a senior fellow at the School for Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University (he appears to do most of his writing not from the SAIS campus, but from his home in Vermont).

He is also the regular military affairs columnist for the Los Angeles Times (what a surprise that the Times employs a Greenpeace alum as its military guru) and a commentator for MSNBC.

As Ace of Spades notes, Arkin is:

…not a journalist, he insists– he’s an activist. (He really says this.) His “career,” such that it is, seems to consist exclusively of taking leaks from embittered leftties in the espionage/military communities and publishing these national security secrets.

Ace then reprises a Howard Kurtz article listing some of the secrets Arkin has compromised.

Thanks for taking the time to write. We’ve obviously gotten a lot of negative response to Bill Arkin’s column over the past two days, and many readers — such as yourself — have written to ask that we fire Bill. But we’re not going to do that….

My contempt for the Washington Post (and Jim Brady) continues to grow.

I am not going to mince words (not that I ever do). But I am going to be as explicit as I can, even if it gets me banned.

William Arkin is a clear and present danger to the national security of the United States. NOT because of this blog posting alone, but because of a consistant pattern of behavior including his employment (and advocacy for) several far-left organizations (Greenpeace, the Natural Resources Defense Council, and Human Rights Watch) and because of his repeated publication of national defense secrets.

The blog posting (and subsequent faux apologies) shows his utter contempt for our serving military. His pattern of behavior, including his open contempt for America’s military and his hatred of the Bush administration, shows that IF ARKIN COULD, HE WOULD RELEASE INFORMATION THAT WOULD COMPROMISE OPERATIONAL SECURITY AND CAUSE US CASUALTIES IN IRAQ.

I want to see William Arkin arrested for espionage and treason. I want to see Arkin either in prison or in the ground.

I haven’t said anything about that post by William Arkin of the Washington Post where he basically calls the military……

It’s not that he just disagrees with how the war is going, but to mention his thoughts on the troops…… like his words weren’t immediately taken, edited, and spread all over the AQ network. Oh, he didn’t think of that…. They allow alternative points of view, don’t they? Don’t they?

Hey, A-hole, these troops will be comming home, some already are, some have served in other campaigns, some are on your local police and fire departments, local judges, store keepers, teachers, priests, in your union, and live two doors down……. when you cry, “Heeeaaalllppppp”, and no one comes, who are going to blame?
