It is a clear attempt to appease the known rage of Al Gore. The double benefit of shutting Al’s mouth would be the cessation of release of massive amounts of methane and carbon dioxide (greenhouse gases) from his gullet.

I don’t know if it’s a stretch or not for the Landmark Legal Foundation to nominate someone for the Nobel Peace Prize.

From the Nobel site regarding who may nominate candidates:

1. Members of national assemblies and governments of states;
3. University rectors; professors of social sciences, history, philosophy, law and theology; directors of peace research institutes and foreign policy institutes;

Between Mark Levin’s experience in the Nixon administration and Landmark’s status as an advocacy group, I’m sure someone in Oslo would have to receive the nomination, stamp and register it before it gets laughed out of committee.

But I agree that Limbaugh is a far more qualified nominee than the veep.

Landmark is a law firm, according to their website. Doesn’t meet the criteria. And Limbaugh sits on their board which would be some sort of conflict even if they met the criteria otherwise.

I am confused here. According to the article I read,

Emails, faxes and letters have been flowing in to the Nobel Institute in Oslo ahead of the February 1 deadline for nominations…

Thousands of people are eligible to submit nominations, including members of parliament and government worldwide, as well as university professors, previous laureates and members of several international institutes.

The five members of the Nobel committee are also allowed to nominate their own candidates at their first meeting in February.

It’s hard to prove this but before I even read the ‘exit question’ I said to myself “what does global warming have to do with peace?”, unless wars are now defined differently.

I explained before what a circus, hoax, and political ploy, to the indignation of Mr. Nobel, the ritual has become. Doesn’t even merit paying serious attention to any more.

To decline it, disrespectfully, when awarded, would be the only sane thing, for sane real peace-promoting people of today.

Some things are just too damned dumb. I am sure Gore is aware that up and down are meaningless in the universe, but as long as you’re printing a picture of the earth, printing the north pole above the south pole is appropriate, assuming humans are the ones reading your newspaper. Honestly.
