After 30 years in corporate America going from programmer-technician to IT manager in charge of mainframe system programming operations in one of the two datacenters of a Fortune 40 company, as well as being the designer of a national communications network for a major financial institution (one of the top 10) which was setting up shop in a 3rd world country, I decided to hang up the 3-piece suit, put on a pair of jeans and cross-trainers, and work for myself.

Isn’t that the American dream? To have your own company and be your own boss?

I’ve been in business for 7 years with an ever-growing list of clients. I am neither on welfare (we conservatives ended that joke over your and your party’s objections) nor am I unemployed. I know you’re disappointed….

What do you do? Besides watching soaps and dreaming about Grey’s McDreamy and Clenis, that is….

30 years huh. Bet they gave you that “your job has been eliminated speech” huh? That had to be tough.

I am retired (59) and spend most of my time tending to my mother, am on the board of 2 arts groups, and occasionally assist my sister with new business pitches for her PR company.

I imagine had you shown more of the cutting edge humor a la “Clenis”, you wouldn’t have been given the boot. Well good luck to you anyway.

Iran is a net importer of diesel and gasoline. They have only nine refineries that are running way over capacity and can’t supply Iran’s domestic needs, so the rest is purchased and tankered in.

Refineries blow up good, blow up real good. Take the refineries out and the Iranian economy will grind quickly to a halt.

If the Iranians are making war upon America (as they have been since Jimmuh Car-tar screwed the pooch with the Shan and the embassy take over), then the answer is to MAKE WAR UPON IRAN.

To answer your question, which is likely rhetorical, it makes a difference as our strategy as “articulated” by GWB is to train and hand off security to the Iranians. If they are selling us out to the Iranians, big difference.

From your mouth to God’s ear CS. I guess it’s a question of is this indicative of underlying attitude among our Iraqi friends (very bad) or a matter of training and as you say, a natural consequence of the transition (no so bad). We shall see.

These are the kinds of security breakdowns that will happen when the transitioning to the Iraqi’s control. Tragically 5 of our troops died. God blass them and their families, friends and battle buddies. I am going to wait for the official report about the hows and whys before I get too far out in front of this. On the surface it seems clear that many things had to go right for them to pull this off, lastly our troops being caught unawares. Perhaps a heightened state of readiness in all areas protected by the Iraqis, will stop these kinds of attacks in the future?

The question is: Does attacking Iran help pro-western Iranians oust abinnyloonyjab or does it create a situation where they put their differences aside to stop a perceived threat against their country?

I think that is a valid question that must be answered before we strike into Iran.

Iran wants to be the victim. Nothing else will do. All the saber rattling by Dinerjacket is his hoping we take the bait.

I want the bastards bombed to dust but the left has made the American people very leary of any U.S. claim to victimhood. Give it a little more time. The closer Dinnerjacket gets to the panic point the more likely he will stumble. Make him a mugging victim and everything is lost for sure. Shoot on sight every Iranian in Iraq…I’m good with that, but it isn’t time (yet) to go over the border.

And as I tuck my little ones in tonight, as I do every night, we will say a prayer for the men and women protecting our nation.

So, I ask you, why in hell do we always need proof?

as an indication that Ahmadinejad may already be under growing domestic pressure. Given that, there is some feeling that now may not be the best time for the U.S. to be making a public case against the Iranian leader without risking an anti-U-S backlash.

Isn’t the best time to give a little push back on his skinnylittleass when it looks like he may be nearing the end of his rope???

absolutely. of course it pisses me off. I have family in the military, a nephew who just returned from his first tour. but I think the essence of the article that was posted was that attacking Iran right now is probably not a good idea since Amadinnerjacket is about to implode and the possibility of Iranians uprising against him is growing. That’s all I was commenting about.
