Can someone explain to me what Imus’ beef is with this? So, he’s sending books to troops. Big stinking deal. It’s a well known fact that most in the military are conservative/traditionalists, so a lot of them would probably enjoy reading it.

The most positive thing Imus did for me was turn me on to Laura Ingraham.

And Mr. McCord you should have chosen Dr. Rosinelli. Your hair job looks like like Charles Biden with a touch of black “Hair In a Can”.

And you don’t see that O’Reilly positioning his book as filling that need as somewhat…egotistical? Golly Ned!

Have you read the book? Putting aside the self-deprecating prenning rhetoric from Bill, there is a ton of truth contained in those pages. Lots of it speaks to the hearts and minds of traditional americans.

Nice that he can do some good things with his ‘hard-earned’ money, but sowing hate and delusional theories is not something I would have expected to see you support.

At times in the past, Don Imus was marginally entertaining, in a can’t-help-but-look, train-wreck kind of way, but he has disintegrated into a sad, sad man.

Oh I’ll take someone who is a bit of a maniac on the radio who does actual good in real life any day of the week. I find his rants funny–and he goes after just about everybody–you should hear what he says about Hillary Clinton.

I’m so confused. Who is this guy? Does he have a show, or was he just on a show? If it is his show, how did he get it, since he seems unable to form a complete sentence, or expound upon the issues he brings up?

Books were more than welcomed the last time I deployed…they were practically devoured. And I would have preferred nearly anyone’s self-aggrandizing book to the heaps of Harlequin romance novels we sometimes received from well-intentioned yet misguided donors.

You don’t often go too far off the deep end, honora, but this is one time when you’re just plain bat-poop crazed, calling O’Reilly ‘revolting’ for daring to give something that was actually requested. O’RDS…that sounds about right.

Hmmmm. Well maybe you’re right…I believe the real reason Imus was so pissed at O’R was because of FoxNew’s lack of coverage of the Intrepid center and the whole issue of the lack of coverage of returning vets with serious physical problems. Which is not limited to FoxNews IMO.

Give the devil his due, Imus talks about the needs of returning troops a lot and usually not in a Bush-bashing context.

Honora — Eh, I just did a quick search for “morning drive time radio ratings”. That data is close to what’s going on… Last I heard, Imus was 27th in the ratings with a .6 share 18-49.

The thing about O’Reilly that is so revolting: of all the things you could supply to our troops–like armor or mattresses or rehab (things that our gov’t oddly doesn’t supply but that’s another story) the best you can do is a copy of your own vapid (and enormously self-promoting) book? The self aggrandizemant is astonishing.

He opposes it and has from the get go I believe though I could be mistaken on that. Know he backed Kerry. He now believes that the current surge is a dog and pony show; that the admin is doing this so they can say they did all they could and that in the end it’s all the Iraqis’ fault.

Not a pretty accusation. We’ll see.

Imus donated $250,000 to the privately funded Intrepid rehab facility that just opened and raised another $10,000,000. He is a old grouch, no kidding. But I love a man who puts his money where his mouth is.
