If Kim launches a missile it won't be at the US and if Ahmy wants to detonate a nuke in the US, he won't use a missile at all, he'll just use some of his terrorist proxys to ship it through Mexico (but look at the bright side, if a nuke gets set off in a big city, most of the casualites will be liberals). Not to say that the technology isn't useful, but it won't help with current major problems.

President Reagan had a dream and President Bush saw that it happened...
AWESOME!
I can sleep a little better now and thank you, gentlemen, for ignoring the Dhimmicrats and keeping us safe.
Now little Kim and Imadinnerjacket can threaten us with all the missiles they want: Bring it on, if you dare.

What? No dead jihadi body parts? How is the good guys testing a purely defensive weapon war porn? War is certainly hell. I feel an obligation see it's solemn realities if I'm going to cheer when anyone dies.

“The United States does not need a multi-billion-dollar national missile defense against the possibility of a nuclear-armed intercontinental ballistic missile.” Nancy Pelosi, in a speeh in 2003 accepting the Alan Cranston Peace Award,

What's wrong with the Democratic Party anyway? They spend their whole lives giving out about the threat nuclear armageddon then when Reagan wants to eliminate the threat they're against that too. The implication in Pelosi's statement that its not worth spending billions of dollars to prevent a nuclear war is what really sticks in the jaw.

That money could have gone towards welfare. /Democrat

Hey, where was the future weapon, you know the one where it shoots you with a beam and you feel like you're on fire, when the protestors broke down the fence in D.C. Now THAT would have been good video.

I hope we have several of those things lined up for multiple shots at each incoming ICBM. It's REAL easy to miss at these speeds.

I think the most likely senario is a dirty bomb downtown somewhere USA.

Thank heavens for sweet mama warporn, keeping the traffic flowing on this slow, outrage-less news day.

Your call, but you know that link I sent you about the atheists being encouraged to deny the holy spirit would get a hell of a debate (pin intended) going. It would bring soothsayer out to condemn everyone to hell for not believing his way (which he'll eventually explain isn't "his way", but the only REAL/TRUE Christianity... while ignoring that most sects believe they are the only right one, yet they aren't vicious a-holes like him). You want to put an end to boredom, get that thread going.

It gets better… they’re going to test the ABL - in flight!!!
I watched as the aircraft itself came down the line at Boeing (minus the laser, of course).
Editor on January 29, 2007 at 5:13 PM

The airborne laser is the coolest thing....it seems like sometime in the future a similiar craft could be used for total air superiority rendering all opposed missle based tech obsolete?

Did the THAAD hit the SCUD target directly, thus creating the explosion? Or did the THAAD just line up in the SCUD’s path and explode at the right millisecond, taking the SCUD with it?

It's going so fast that there is no need for extra explosives, as you can see in the video. As for whether an explosion would increase the kill radius, they studied the problem and it turns out that determining the exact instant when to denonate the charge was harder than just hitting the target dead on.

After shortly the hearing the news of a successful missile defense test, the UN passed a resolution condemning it, the Islamic world rioted, and the French surrendered.

Ahmadinejad got out of that fetal position, instantly.

Putin choked.

Hu Jintao "bastards set us back a bit".

EU had a collective lizzard-Viagra desire.

Kim Jong Il grew by half an inch - his hair went straight up.

Chavez stuck that baton up his, by shock.

Castro wasn't available for comment. He was overheard, in an almost inaudible whisper "whatever Hugo does".

Mr. Clinton "honey, don't worry, I'll explain it all to you".

Mr. Kerry "The U.S. is an international pariah and this president has made it so. If I'd be president, and I came very close, close enough to almost run again, but not that close, and if you'd have loved me just a tad bit more, I would have negotiated the elimination of such fictitious war games", in broken French.

Timothy,

I think it uses kinetic energy to destroy the target so a nuke would not detonate or spread any nuke junk. Even if it did, I think nuke junk is a helluva lot better than a nuclear blast

Did the THAAD hit the SCUD target directly, thus creating the explosion? Or did the THAAD just line up in the SCUD's path and explode at the right millisecond, taking the SCUD with it?

What kind of debris would be generated if this was used on a nuke? Would the nuke explode? Or would the nuke just be disintergrated (so it can rain radioactive nuke junk all over who knows what)?

Very cool - but they need to get a defensive weapon that goes to the source. Laser based or particle beam, that sets off the launching nuke while still over enemy territory. Now
that would deter the little runt in NORK.

You guys just gotta see the new series on "Future Weapons" and see what they are showing to us (and Iraq and NK) on that show. It will blow your mind.

I watched as the aircraft itself came down the line at Boeing (minus the laser, of course).
