That’s generally the case, but I don’t get the impression that Allah is actually thanking God. Unless he is, capitalizing the word can, by some, actually be seen as blaspemous, like when people curse, “oh my god.” They’re not talking to God either, just like when people say “b@$t@rd,” they’re not literally claiming the person was illegitimate.

I overreacted and came across as rude because for a sec it reminded me of the most PC professors I used to have. It is too bad we don’t have a delete button for our posts!

The Dead Sea Scrolls were on exhibit for 4-months in town. They used CE/BCE for the entire exhbit. Then, at the end, they you had to walk through an exhibit of Eastern religios mumbo-jumbo, you know, to be faaaairrrrrr.

The funniest thing I’ve seen was a book on early Catholic liturgy obviously written by a flaming liberal, and he used the terms BCE and CE to talk about dates in the history of Christian liturgy.

This BCE, CE trend is really spreading because libs love it. About the Smithsonian exhibitions, I wondered if Congress has a say in whether they use BCE/CE or BC/AD. After all, Congress funds the Smithsonian.

That’s funny! I noticed some of the newer exhibitions in the Smithsonian, such as in the Asian Freer and Sackler galleries, were using CE/BCE instead of AD/BC

OK, am I the only one who doesn’t understand the use of G-D when writing? When writing about God, the Lord, my Saviour, my Creator, any of these words, why do some omit the “O” as above?
I really do not understand. If it is blasphemous, then don’t write it. If you’re writing about God, why be ashamed?

To be honest, I am someone who gets annoyed (if only slightly) when “God” and references to Him (like He, His, etc.) are not capitalized (it’s also improper English), but capitalizing His name here is almost counterproductive. I mean it’s trying to revere God at the same time His name is being used flippantly.

I just wouldn’t worry about it. Not here anyway.

That is interesting about Mitt Romney being underwhelming. The Christian conservatives don’t trust him on his positions on abortion and he doesn’t seem to have impressed the conservatives at National Review. But he really wants it. Just the other day, I got a advertisement for his presidency in the mail.

You can always ask our beloved AP about Mitt and his numerous wonderful presidential qualities.
