Guess what? The Congress wasn’t Republican pre-WWII!
In fact, it was pretty heavily Dem, at least during FDR’s first 2 terms…then he went and lost a lot of party support with his New Deal socialist shenanigans!
That “Republican” Congress (which also had quite a few Conservative Dems–remember them?) managed to pass “isolationist” measures like Lend-Lease and a peacetime draft in 1940.
Korea’s end? Eisenhower didn’t pull the plug, the U.N. did. Check it out for yourself. And conflict was ended by an armistice, not a victory/defeat.
Major conflict ending had more to do with Stalin’s death than with any American President pulling the plug.
And North and South Korea (as well as those of us who are allies of South Korea) are still in a state of war with the NorKs.

What I find completely disgusting is the silence from the Left and the MSM on the cost of turning our backs, before we entered WWII; Korea; Viet Nam and after. Those on the Left never discuss the millions of human beings tortured and killed not only Hitler but Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Ho Chi Min and soon Islamofascists. When you consider that over 35 million unborn have been killed by abortion in this country alone, then you can see why their silence is so loud! They disgust me, totally!!!!

What’s disturbing is the latest interview with Tony Snow wherein he says if we leave Iraq (which he implies is the only alternative to the Bush plan du jour) there will be chaos, disaster etc. He then states our commitment is not open-ended. Meaning….this succeeds in some time frame or it’s disaster? (I don’t like the gambling metaphor some have used, but this is double or nothing–a boned headed gambling move, never mind war).

More disturbing was Imus’ recent interview with Rick Santorum–RS made the statement that this is Maliki’s last chance, either he gets it together for the surge, or he’s gone. RS then added: of course, that doesn’t mean we pull out. Meaning……

Most disturbing was Petraeous’ (sp?) testimony. Sobering perhaps a better word. God bless that man, a truly selfless soul.

Why is O’reilly & many others going on and on about plan B, C or falling back when the surge hasn’t really begun in earnest.

Like all pundits, Bill lives on making predictions that prove to be correct weeks or months later. The difference with Bill is that he has continued to support the President (and there by the troops) even after he said he would call for a withdrawl if the current strategy fails.

I could be wrong, but I expect that Bill will go back on his latest position when the conditions on the ground dictate a different tactic.

BOR and others keep saying that if our military doesn’t make progress by mid-summer, we need to pull out. (not an exact quote, but that’s what they mean)

All this kind of talk does is tell the insurgents that if they can find a way to hold on until July, we’re gone. Isn’t that a wonderful message to send the enemy?

Ingraham: if America is defeated or we don’t see enough progress in the next six months, then a message will be sent to the Islamists that the American military, if not supported by the American people, can be driven out.
