Hollyweird sez no to Hillary, yes to Obama

Maybe it’s Hillary set to burn out, not Obama?
On Wednesday morning, hundreds of Hollywood’s movers and shakers received an invitation that they may find hard to refuse.
They’ve been invited to come meet Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic Party’s new superstar. He already has the buzz, but can he bring home the prize?
Movie moguls Steven Spielberg, David Geffen and Jeffrey Katzenberg want their Hollywood peers to join them at a Feb. 20 fundraiser the three are throwing for Obama.
For $2,300 a person and $4600 a couple, they can meet the candidate at a reception at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Those who commit to raising $46,000 (10 couples/20 tickets) for the evening will be invited to a private dinner at Geffen’s Malibu, Calif., home.

Watching these Leftoid morons run around like beheaded chickens is only slightly more interesting than viewing their recent movies.
Shut up and sing, act or direct…or if you can’t do that, just shut up!

Sit back, crack a beer, enjoy the show!
Is Nanny Pelosi still blinking?

Note that Wes Clark didn’t say a peep about the California Money People. As they say in my parents’ homeland, “the monkey knows the tree it climbs”.

Barack is still the “flavor of the month”.
Come convention time, it will be Hillary getting the nomination with Barack as the running mate (pun unintended).
It will be the best of all worlds.

Someone enlighten me . . . where did they get those weird amounts?
Labamigo on January 24, 2007 at 10:31 PM
Sweet. First we see SNL mocking her, now Hollyweird takes over. Looks like a lefty trend to me. It was Hollyweird that helped Billy Jeff get in the White House which makes this all very ironic. I can’t wait to see Shrillary and Obama in a grudge match. It will wind up making the Republican candidate so much more appealing.
thedecider on January 24, 2007 at 10:32 PM
By my actual spreadsheet calculation, she’s blinked about 86,400 times since last night (allowing 6 hrs of sleep.) By comparison, Cheney has only blinked 4,320 times.
I only report. You can decide.

No kidding. I shall call her “Blinker of the House”.

What? This Obama guy is black? When was somebody going to tell me?!?
JoeEgo on January 24, 2007 at 10:49 PM
On a seriouser note.
The Hollywood star-making machine is notorious for turning their backs on such “has-been” celebs like Hillary – sooo yesterday’s news, you know.
But Obama, this hot, young, new star’s career has “legs” that Hillary can only envy from afar. Plus with his history of recreational drug use, he’s so much more “one of them” than Hillary “open marriage” Clinton could ever be. Besides, she voted FOR the war, you know.
Benthoven on January 24, 2007 at 11:03 PM
Benthoven, that’s an image I could have done without. “Legs” and Hiliary don’t belong in the same sentence.

ekuspa40 on January 24, 2007 at 11:19 PM
Very funny. Half black actually. Sorta’ like HillBillary (according to the SNL skit).

Getting back to the serious, I’m actually starting to believe the Dems no longer believe they need the triangulation of Clinton to make 2008 their year. Never mind that it was the male half of that team that was the master triangulator. Never mind that, without the new “moderate” ‘Rats (who, without exception, made that expected hard turn left upon arriving in DC), they wouldn’t officially have the Senate.
steveegg on January 24, 2007 at 11:36 PM
They don’t think they need the triangulation of Clinton. If you watched MSNBC on election night you would have heard Matthews and Olberdouche talking about how the Dem’s victory was a signal to veer hard to the left.

I was busy getting drunk Election Night (and I do have a couple of stories about that; get me a few Sam Adams or Heinekens and I might tell them).
steveegg on January 24, 2007 at 11:52 PM
I read there’s a new sit-com in the works starring Patricia Heaton and Kelsey Grammer. Because they are big name stars high salary assumption was hypothesized. The article didn’t say it would ruin the show, just an observation it would be expensive.
Question: Can two Republicans share a show together and not drive Hollywood crazy?

It’s nice to see the party of the middle class/working man/underprivileged holding such fundraising events for it’s supporters.
Rick on January 25, 2007 at 12:56 AM
Heh, this trio will give to all who come to Hollywood. It’s early. They’re covering all bases.
Just back from a bus. trip to Hollywood. What a strange place. The hotels of many stars don’t even have C-Span or Fox, only CNN and the alphabets, even though they do have cable…all non-leftie numbers blocked out. The other half can suffer, but pay the high prizes nonetheless. Therefore, the before/after SotU commentaries were insufferable.

Then again, they did make the mistake of hiring one of the few bands who are older than they are and expecting younger folks to attend.
Heck, in Hollywood, etc. even the middle aged are trying to act (and look) like teeny-boppers! Which for some is sort of hard when you have Keith Richards syndrome going for you facially.
And then there is that “small” matter of price.
Wait until this time – I’ll bet the bands are younger (and hipper), the prices (depending on where the fund-raiser is held) lower, and the winning act of Hillabama sweeping first place.
At least out of the convention.
Then again, anything is possible in Hollywood!

Is this the moment when Dorthoy throws water on the Witch?

Holding fundraisers with people who have lots of money.
What were they thinking????
honora on January 25, 2007 at 10:20 AM
What were they thinking, honora?
Why they’re thinking they wanna control all those “little people out there in the dark!”
They try to control our minds, thoughts and desires with their loathesome movies and if they can get their “boy” (or girl) in the White House, even better, although Obama and Hillary are going to need to a lot more than this.
Jen the Neocon on January 25, 2007 at 2:50 PM
Like I was saying, the party of the blue collar/little guy/poor minorities holding high dollar fundraisers (where said supporters don’t have a chance in hell to set foot in the door).
The point, honora, is that the Dems are a party full of elitist snobs that don’t see themselves as part of the “collective” (or peasants). Tell the peasants what they want to hear – that way, they vote for you.
