Maliki Cracks Down

On Moqtada al-Sadr. And on the press in Iraq.
The first is good news and may show us that Maliki finally sees the light on Sadr. Or it may be just more of his gameplaying wrt the Jaish al-Mahdi.
The second may, as Bob points out, result in more leaks coming out of the Iraqi government. If it’s a response to the Jamil X situation, information freelancers and confusion within the MoI, it’s a very heavyhanded one and it seems to me to be likely to backfire.

eh, old news. Mookie is running scared. If that’s the case, there is stuff going down we’re not hearing about. Lots of dead Mahdis.

Editor: At last count, they’d arrested something like four hundred of Sadr’s guys. I don’t know how many have been killed.

I know about the arrests. That’s old news, too. Of course, the closer the arrestees are to Mookie the better. It’s intel gathering at it’s finest – intel that helps get Mahdis killed.

It also could be a temp thing so plans dont get out about where there are crackdowns and where there arent. But I just dont like/trust Maliki..he cant seem to do anything right.
He is a weak and ineffective, a terrible leader and overall a loser. Too bad the coup didnt work!
