(we) need to see their foolish viewpoints. They give us the insight of the lefts thinking. Even the lying part, it is something that conservatives have a hard time understanding. Lying to make a point, twisting the truth, only using a small part of a statement to make a broader statement, these all all tactics that are fairly foreign to most of the posters here. Kind of like studying a zoo animal to understand their behavior.

I agree that TD has “drifted” over the line, but I believe right2bright has made a good point. I don’t post here much (or anywhere else for that matter), but this is a major source of news and commentary for me. Thank you Allahpundit and Bryan for your hard work – but the moonbats can be instructive – “Keep your enemies close so you can keep an eye on them.”

No matter what the reality is he seem to always find a way not to see it.

I mind it when someone uses our bandwidth to call me or anyone else associated with Hot Air a liar, which Drifter has done, and I mind it when someone accuses me of glossing over the problems in Iraq, as Drifter has done.

I can tolerate lots of obnoxious and silly behavior, but I won’t tolerate that kind of nonsense. Life’s too short.

I couldn’t agree with you more. People who will miss drifter’s viewpoints are going to make me gag, c’mon. It is not right for his insults to be allowed to go on and on and on. What you want here to keep this is intelligent debate. Drifter was fAR from that. I also do not look for people to agree with me but insulting, lying is out of line.

Of course we can have a similar experience visiting sites which favor the leftist-liberal-fifth column view point, and some of us do so, but often we might be screened there, or overwhelmed with personal attacks. I have found leftist-liberal-fifth columnists to be among the most vile, disrespectful, foul mouthed, hate filled, disgraceful, selfish, arrogant, vindictive, and venomous people on planet earth. They engage in the most salacious “speech,” the most sick, scatological verbiage, and even resort to talk about killing, dismembering, assassinating, and butchering those they disagree with.

The likes of Stark openly stating on television “Hannity sucks ass” is an excellent example.

“Hannity sucks ass?” Does anyone else find that to be a disgusting, offensive, repulsive image? Yet these people show their lack of decency, and their lack of respect for others, and their lack of etiquette by their habitual displays of arrogance and offensiveness, then turn around and paint themselves as caring, loving, and conscientious.

They behave like rabid animals, spewing venom like the girl from “The Exorcist” spewed her green pea soup, they show a total lack of respect and decency, then they paint themselves as holding the moral high ground.

It is absurd!

The problem with banning Drifter, Honora, Jahahera (or whatever), Shackler, et. al. is that we need to see their foolish viewpoints. They give us the insight of the lefts thinking. One think I learned about “Truthers” is that they are obvious to the truth.

You’ll also be surprised to find, of the 60+ links to her blog post and the 60+ links to her Post column, not a single major nutroots blog among them.

Maybe we’ll see some movement tomorrow. It takes awhile for a story to filter through the lefty blogosphere, unless it suits their agenda in which case it filters through instantly.

Do you suppose this was discussed at the successor to their secret Townhouse “unified messaging” forum? Isn’t it funny that traditional “group think” gets a nice name like “unified messaging”?

Please get this right: journalism is not a “profession”. There are real professionals – doctors, engineers, lawyers, accountants, actuaries – and there are people who started calling themselves professionals in the 1970s and 80s – journalists. Journalists have no Hippocratic oath, no Bar exam, no pledge to the Supreme Court, etc. There are qualified for nothing yet speak authoritatively on everything.

I have known exactly one journalist for whom this is not the case – but he is long dead and he also would never have given himself the title of professional – he actually knew what words mean. How often do you see journalists use the word “gender” (linguistic) when they mean “sex” (biological)? Or “decimate” (reduce something by one tenth) when the mean “devastate” (reduce something altogether)? We have journalists who don’t actually know what words mean (or deliberately use deceptive language – e.g. “insurgent” for a foreign terrorist) trying to tell us what to think. This imprecise, deceptive, agenda-driven output that people accept would be like forgiving a surgeon who got an appendix confused with a gall bladder. To practise medicine (or law, engineering, accounting, etc.) at the standard they practise journalism would get you in jail.
