[...] No no no, of course they didn’t. I’m being sarcastic to mark this, the fifth day since the boss broke the news about the AP’s bogus “torched” mosques report. The most recent search result for “malkin” at the E&P website is this story written by Greg Mitchell himself about Tony Snow’s interview with Hugh Hewitt. You can almost hear the sneer: Seeking a sympathic audience yesterday, Snow visited conservative radio talker Hugh Hewitt, referring to him as a “friend.” He felt so relaxed in that setting that he went after media coverage of the war far harder than he would in the White House briefing room, and suggested that perhaps Michelle Malkin, now in Baghdad, might help save the day.
[...] I’m kidding. Twenty-four hours after my post and damn near two and a half days after the boss’s Post column went live, not a word about HA’s Hurriya report has yet to grace their foul, foul site. No surprise there, either. When some dastardly villain hacked into E&P’s server this summer and rewrote one of Greg Mitchell’s old columns — coincidentally at the very moment he was taking heat for that column from the blogosphere — E&P responded first by ignoring the matter and then by ignoring it some more. That’s how “the bible of the news industry” responds when confronted with embarrassing or inconvenient revelations, you see: they simply clam up and pretend they didn’t happen. Just like they’re doing now. [...]

[...] Amidst the deafening silence from the Loony Left and its MSM mouthpieces now that Michelle and Bryan have gone straight to the source and definitively proved them to be full of a certain noxious brown excretion, this interesting commentary: What has been lost in the debate about “Who is Jamil Hussein?” is the substance of his Iraqi atrocity stories peddled by the AP. The most recent ones have been denied by the US military, which has much better sources than the Associated Press. They have also not been confirmed by other news outlets. Whether “Jamil Hussein” was a cover name, an AP fabrication, or a real person is not as important as the content of his apparent disinformation. What was the purpose of the lie about six Iraqis being deliberately burned to death by terrorists? What about the other 60 AP stories that cited “Hussein”? How many lent credibility to other atrocity tales? [...]

If I want to hear moonbats get crushed in debate I'll listen to Michael Medved. No one wants an echo chamber, I just prefer intellectually honest liberals. Honora is growing on me. People like drifter and shackler just get in the way without adding anything of value to the debate. So long TD. We got your drift.

(we) need to see their foolish viewpoints. They give us the insight of the lefts thinking. Even the lying part, it is something that conservatives have a hard time understanding. Lying to make a point, twisting the truth, only using a small part of a statement to make a broader statement, these all all tactics that are fairly foreign to most of the posters here. Kind of like studying a zoo animal to understand their behavior.

I agree that TD has "drifted" over the line, but I believe right2bright has made a good point. I don't post here much (or anywhere else for that matter), but this is a major source of news and commentary for me. Thank you Allahpundit and Bryan for your hard work - but the moonbats can be instructive - "Keep your enemies close so you can keep an eye on them."

It's about time you got rid of that pathetic, delusional, uneducated moron. A few others should follow him into Oblivion.....DU, Kos, etc

I told all of you that the Associate Press lies routinely, and doesn't do a very good job of it: Sloppy, lazy, cowardly liars; bitter partisan hacks who can't stop wanking long enough to even get in the same roon as The Truth--any truth

At least by now you're Older & Wiser, Allah. The Assorted Peanuts never will be

I mind it when someone uses our bandwidth to call me or anyone else associated with Hot Air a liar, which Drifter has done, and I mind it when someone accuses me of glossing over the problems in Iraq, as Drifter has done.

I can tolerate lots of obnoxious and silly behavior, but I won’t tolerate that kind of nonsense. Life’s too short.

Bryan on January 22, 2007 at 8:15 PM

I couldn't agree with you more. People who will miss drifter's viewpoints are going to make me gag, c'mon. It is not right for his insults to be allowed to go on and on and on. What you want here to keep this is intelligent debate. Drifter was fAR from that. I also do not look for people to agree with me but insulting, lying is out of line.

There's a blog called HOTAiR
Joined by assumed French debonaire
Served us his liberal litany
Mostly politely from Brittany

American-born and bred
Of his country he wanted to be ahead
No matter how hard he tried
His elitism he never could hide

French arrogance a hold of him got
Politeness he reconsidered for naught
Hot air became his reservoir
Until we say forever au revoir

I find the opposing points of view, even the vociferous ones, as helpful, for they keep a forum from being in total agreement, like a cult, and allow all viewers to think, rather than go unchallenged, and they allow those who have a view point in alignment with the main web forum site to see what the arguments and line of thought are of their opponents.

Of course we can have a similar experience visiting sites which favor the leftist-liberal-fifth column view point, and some of us do so, but often we might be screened there, or overwhelmed with personal attacks. I have found leftist-liberal-fifth columnists to be among the most vile, disrespectful, foul mouthed, hate filled, disgraceful, selfish, arrogant, vindictive, and venomous people on planet earth. They engage in the most salacious "speech," the most sick, scatological verbiage, and even resort to talk about killing, dismembering, assassinating, and butchering those they disagree with.

The likes of Stark openly stating on television "Hannity sucks ass" is an excellent example.

"Hannity sucks ass?" Does anyone else find that to be a disgusting, offensive, repulsive image? Yet these people show their lack of decency, and their lack of respect for others, and their lack of etiquette by their habitual displays of arrogance and offensiveness, then turn around and paint themselves as caring, loving, and conscientious.

They behave like rabid animals, spewing venom like the girl from "The Exorcist" spewed her green pea soup, they show a total lack of respect and decency, then they paint themselves as holding the moral high ground.

It is absurd!

You can put information right in front of a liberal, but you can’t make them think.

Great...

The problem with banning Drifter, Honora, Jahahera (or whatever), Shackler, et. al. is that we need to see their foolish viewpoints.

Again, garnished with a quote from yours truly:

Allah, I think you need to start collecting royalties.......

And as for the THeDRiFTeR, well as someone whom he had taken a personal attack on, and lost, I will miss his diatribe...... It gave me an insight into a place where I only wished to visit from a distance, the mind of a liberal.

Good call Bryan...

This whole argument is "stupid". When you have pictures of the so called "destroyed real estate" still standing how can their be any question that the AP story was wrong. There are a lot of "nuts" out there that won't accept reality.

I agree bryan was just a dig back at Drifter for his insanity.

One think I learned about "Truthers" is that they are obvious to the truth.

You’ll also be surprised to find, of the 60+ links to her blog post and the 60+ links to her Post column, not a single major nutroots blog among them.

Maybe we’ll see some movement tomorrow. It takes awhile for a story to filter through the lefty blogosphere, unless it suits their agenda in which case it filters through instantly.

Do you suppose this was discussed at the successor to their secret Townhouse "unified messaging" forum? Isn't it funny that traditional "group think" gets a nice name like "unified messaging"?

In the meantime, I’m going to work on a new quote for E&P. I don’t want to give it away, but it involves some combination of the words “hack,” “disingenuous,” “profession,” “disgrace,” and “Greg Mitchell.”

Please get this right: journalism is not a "profession". There are real professionals - doctors, engineers, lawyers, accountants, actuaries - and there are people who started calling themselves professionals in the 1970s and 80s - journalists. Journalists have no Hippocratic oath, no Bar exam, no pledge to the Supreme Court, etc. There are qualified for nothing yet speak authoritatively on everything.

I have known exactly one journalist for whom this is not the case - but he is long dead and he also would never have given himself the title of professional - he actually knew what words mean. How often do you see journalists use the word "gender" (linguistic) when they mean "sex" (biological)? Or "decimate" (reduce something by one tenth) when the mean "devastate" (reduce something altogether)? We have journalists who don't actually know what words mean (or deliberately use deceptive language - e.g. "insurgent" for a foreign terrorist) trying to tell us what to think. This imprecise, deceptive, agenda-driven output that people accept would be like forgiving a surgeon who got an appendix confused with a gall bladder. To practise medicine (or law, engineering, accounting, etc.) at the standard they practise journalism would get you in jail.

I mind it when someone uses our bandwidth to call me or anyone else associated with Hot Air a liar, which Drifter has done, and I mind it when someone accuses me of glossing over the problems in Iraq, as Drifter has done.

I can tolerate lots of obnoxious and silly behavior, but I won't tolerate that kind of nonsense. Life's too short.
