With apologies to R.E.M. and Mark Steyn, it really IS the end of the world as we know it. But I *don't* feel fine.

It is long past time to form that alternative, politically viable, light and mobile grass-roots third party.

The foundation for such an organization should be simple: adherence to the Constitution, laser-like focus on the top three things that matter most (national security, robust economy, and guardianship of personal liberties). Strict term limits to keep corruption at bay, and full transparency to avoid unethical actions.

For those who believe that we have to take the GOP back, I say that they have gone past the point of no return, and I have no faith in their current leadership. Yes, there are individuals who deserve our support, but they are not out in front where they can be effective, and thanks to the mechanisms of the current party structure, will likely never will be.

What a true shame. I suspect that the other side of the aisle have a few souls in the same camp.

I love that Brownback is being labelled an "ultra-conservative" by the media. He's part of the freakin' gang of fourteen! R-I-N-O and amnesty lover to boot.

I agree Duncan Hunter is another great presidential option.

Why is no one mentioning Duncan Hunter? My choice.

And I am so glad my sentiments are expressed here by everyone re: Mel. I am glad I am not the only that thinks this is a horrible mistake.

If the RNC goes open borders then they'll end up empty pockets. I'll send money in when they start acting like Republicans. The Governator turned into a Democrat after being elected. This needs to stop but it won't stop with the likes of Martinez as chief.

Giuliani, Tancredo, Gingrich, and Romney

Giuliani is a Bush clone in my opinion, and Romney’s stock is falling fast and will most likely continue.

That leaves Gingrich or Tancredo.

As far as ‘global warming goes’…I do believe if I hear that phrase in my presence, someone is getting an icescraper enema.

Interesting, when the Temp. is even a little higher than normal the media starts right in with the Global warming crap.
When we're frozen solid...not a word.

Humans are incredibly susceptible to vain chicken little syndrome when the truth is that puny humans are no match for cosmic forces like gravity, cyclical orbital polar inclination/trajectory and Sun flares.

It's time to show the RNC and GOP that they aren't going to get elected / reelected until they secure the border and enforce our nations laws against hiring illegal aliens. No Amnesty, no NAFTA superhighway to citizenship.

About 80% of the voting aged US citizens want the border secured. We can actually make the border both the Republican and Democratic party's stumbling block.

Sorry, that last sentence was my own:

Cubans are generally quite a bit better off than Mexicans, so I found the results surprising.

Inductivist has been crunching some numbers and says that "Mexicans have the worst values in the world." They also rank low in the Inductivist's "Bad Behavior Index."

Here is another Inductivist post about Miami. Like most Inductivist posts, it is short post so I've excerpted it completely. Forgive me:

Governor Jeb Bush got huffy the other day when Tom Tancredo said that Miami is like a Third World country. Bush and other Florida lawmakers responded with the usual doublespeak, using words like "hospitality" and "vibrant."

Like always, we must ignore what the politicians say, and must rely on data. According to the Census, here is how Miami compares to the rest of the country:

Percent Hispanic
Miami 65.8
USA 14.1

Percent speaking something other than English at home
Miami 74.6
USA 17.9

Percent of people ages 25+ with high school degree
Miami 52.7
USA 80.4

Homeownership rate
Miami 34.9
USA 66.2

Percent poor
Miami 28.5
USA 12.

Let's see: the city is a place where most people are Hispanic, Spanish-speaking, 1/2 never finished high school, few own homes, and many are poor. Sounds like the Third World to me. And it's coming to your neighborhood next.

Why, it’s enough to make a man consider voting for Tanc.

If the lefties can put up an America destroyer, we can put up an America protector.

My uncle, who lives in Austin, says they’ve been getting some ice and snow.

Yes we have. 300 accidents alone the 1st afternoon. We're not only a little slice of heavenly marxism in the heart of Texas, we're also home to a lot of people that shouldn't be allowed to ride in cars, much less drive them.

As far as 'global warming goes'...I do believe if I hear that phrase in my presence, someone is getting an icescraper enema.

shackler,

Why do conservatives always choose America haters as their leaders. W. Bush, your new chairman, Delay, Lott, Hastert. I don’t get it. Bush hates the constitution. This new guy hates American sovreignty. Lott hated black people. Delay hated the rule of law. Hastert hated children (maybe he just loved pedophiles more). What’s with you guys? I knew you all hate hate America and the rule of law, but this is rediculous. LONG LIVE THE DEMOCRATS!!!

This coming from a guy who supports the party of the one and only former Klansman to be sitting as President Pro Tempore of the Senate in US history and the party of "Red Ted" Kennedy. Furthermore, where Martinez might "hate" American sovereignty, almost every Democrat does likewise.
