I hope I didn’t come off as smug regarding my political beliefs. It can just be very frustrating and embarrassing (sp?) to be part of a group that is by-and-large well-educated, but by-and-large doesn’t know diddly about politics.

Believe it or not, my parents were conservative, which probably is a big reason why I believe the things I believe. My parents are an even rarer group of Jews, because they have been politically conservative since the late ’60’s!

Do you know what it looks like yet?

The 9/11 terrorist attack woke me up. I had voted Democrat for president for each of the previous four elections. I didn’t wake up all at once … it wasn’t until after I attended an anti-war rally (as a ProtestWarrior, not an LLL) and saw the venom directed toward Israel and America that I came around. I am kind of a 9/11 Republican (read this column.)

More and more Jews are coming around.

Is the left-wing of America becoming anti-Israel? I never would have thought that, considering so many Jews are politically to the left. Something which I could never understand. And yes, I can make these comments because I’m Jewish and conservative. Rare, but true. I’d like to say that maybe the Jews will wise up and finally vote Republican, but time after time, and issue after issue, they just can’t do it. I think it’s in Jewish DNA, but for whatever reason, I’ve overcome that.

I predict that Mr. Dershowitz will be booed in the first 2 minutes and that he will come back like a cannon and set them straight.

I don’t understand how Jimmy Carter could accept money or support the Arabs in any event, since there are no rights for their women and have come under fire for other human rights abuses. Isn’t his wife, Rosalyn, a “Global Rights Activist”, as well?

Even at first blush, it seems unlikely that a Jewish law professor from Harvard would be a Republican, but in any event, Dershowitz has stated the contrary in writing on numerous occasions.

I heard the interview with Carter. I sound he made when Dershowitz’s name was mentioned was almost a “death rattle” I think Carter thought Dershowitz was listening and about to jump in. I really showed how fearful Carter is about being confronted on the subject.

Yes, it is juvenile to not allow Alan in when Jimmy is speaking, but I do appreciate that they are letting him speak that night and not a week later…the audience will get both sides of the story in one sitting…

Recent history should make one wonder if Dershowitz will even be able to say more than 3-4 words before the ’students’ rush the stage and protesters smother out any chance of rebuttal.
