And I hold up the victory over the Dervishes, as well, as a model for America’s own great victories. Nor will I turn aside to debate debilitating distinctions in public. And whatever this Maxim gun may be–the one that America has, but won’t use, and that Iran and others are trying to get–I say as well, America must learn to use the Maxim gun.

It should be but of course it won’t be. I just read NJ has passed some kind of bill to take teaching about Veterans and Veteran’s Day, Columbus and Columbus Day and the Pilgrims and Thanksgiving.

His point that we basically tie one hand and engage in a conventional war using infantry, aircraft, and armor against an “insurgency,” as opposed to simply nuking them and their sponsor states into radioactive green glass is well made.

We do so because we are (1) humanitarians at heart and not vicious beheaders, (2) we (stupidly, IMHO) care about “world opinion,” and (3) we have to many liberal losers like Kennedy in the Senate (and trolls like “shafter” in this group) working overtime to sabotage the war. God help us if we outrage the left by wiping a nest of Islamofascist vipers off the face of the earth using a conventional (much less a nuclear) weapon, because our internal traitors won’t stand for it, much less the rest of the world — who by the way, hates us anyway, no matter what we do.

Instead of lighting up Muslim cities with the heat of the sun’s surface, we have engaged in efforts around the world using small select forces, such as in Djibouti, to track down and kill our enmies. [I recommend Robert D. Kaplan's Imperial Grunts as further reading on this subject.] Contrary to what fools and traitors like Kennedy and “shafter” may think, as the recent experience in Somalia shows, it extends America’s reach to the planet’s most remote places.

Let me remind all of you that an “insurgency” in Iraq is NOT a new thing. After the Balfour declaration gave Iraq to the Brits, a Shiite Imam raised Jihad against them, resulting in a general uprising in Iraq that went on for years.

It was put down, though it took several years of hard bloody effort on the part of the Brits and resulted in the loss of many lives, Iraqi and British both. In fact, the Brits used that new invention — the aeroplane — to bomb entire villages into destruction, indiscriminately killing all who dwell-ed there as part of the effort.

In addition, the local British commander also asked London to supply them with WWI surplus mustard and chlorine gas for use in anti-insurgency operations. No gas was used (some say that the Brits had already destroyed their WWI stockpiles, other say that the Home Office balked at the idea), and the effort to defeat the Jihad continued on, without war gases, until about 1925.

For the next 30 years, Iraq was a relatively calm place, until the Brits voluntarily withdrew from Iraq in 1955.

America is not willing to use the tactics that the Brits used in the 1920’s. We are not willing to use daisy-cutters to wipe out entire villages and small cities. And we are not willing to use nukes to remove Mecca, Tehran, or Damascus, because we (as a people) are not into genocide, no matter what the traitor liberals like to claim, absent an attack by Weapons of Mass Destruction aimed at us.

We are going to have to confront Iran sooner or later as they are bound and determined to seek war as part of the Islamic Jihad they espouse. Even though I have a son in the military who would be likely asked to fight it, I reluctantly have come to the conclusion that the sooner we fight this inevitable war, the better for America and, ironically, the Iranian people.

I don’t know where Ace is or what he is or isn’t copulating with, but as long as he’s gone I’m just gonna keep tossing stuff up here so people can have a chance to complain about how he’s better……

Please Lord, please let the President actually READ the book and take it to heart during his last two terms in office. Sadly, even if we gave out free copies to everyone in the nation, I don’t even think that the vast majority would read it.

He did have a sit-down with GWB about a month or so ago along with several other conservative pundits/writers. And, he autographed the President’s copy of America Alone (at GWB’s request!) Let’s just hope he read it.
