Fierce criticism mounts as president’s support crumbles
posted at 4:16 pm on January 17, 2007 by Allahpundit
People are tired of his belligerence and policy failures. He’s “strong on populist slogans but weak on achievement,” says one legislator who campaigned for him. Says another, he “keeps making empty promises to people in every city he goes.” His bungling’s already lost one election for his party; how many more will he lose for them by the time his term expires?
No wonder he’s taken to kissing babies.
Be sure to read the article. Experts say inflation could be as high as 30 percent.

You fooled me on that one. You’ve had me a little worried lately but this time you came through.

That headline, Allah you scoundrel…
Theworldisnotenough on January 17, 2007 at 4:20 PM
And as more people become unhappy, more people will emigrate… to Europe and to the United States.
dalewalt on January 17, 2007 at 4:27 PM
Allah,
Nice bait there. I was about to swerve in here and unload some serious frustration on some weak-kneed spineless repubs.
Helps the blood pressure, you know. :-^)

How very Rovian of you, AP.
As for Ahmadinejad, does this guy have any other suits?
Rick on January 17, 2007 at 4:28 PM
Stupid question #726
Do females liked being kissed by fuzzy faces?
allie on January 17, 2007 at 4:28 PM
I hope you laughed/snorted the milk through your nose.
right2bright on January 17, 2007 at 4:29 PM
Like most madmen, he has a closetfull of the same suit, over and over.
Mazztek on January 17, 2007 at 4:35 PM
Since when does Lorenzo Lamas moonlight as Ahmadinejad’s bodyguard?
Hoodlumman on January 17, 2007 at 4:43 PM
Not to worry. Carter and Jackson will go campaign for him.

Hehe, and Saudia Arabia is working to crush Iran’s economy just a wee bit more by increasing oil production. I finally experience schadenfreude.

You ass..I thought this was about Bush! Nice :)

Allah!
SisterToldjah on January 17, 2007 at 4:50 PM
I’m sure it wasn’t done with the intention but the big problem with the headline is that most of the people who read it won’t click to read the story and will be left with the wrong impression which will remain part of their outlook about things.
I say this as someone who thinks the Bush legacy will be the destruction of the Republican Party and would like to see Bush resign but still, wrong is wrong.
Perchant on January 17, 2007 at 4:52 PM
I was fooled!

Wait, that’s not Wayne Palmer!
Jim Treacher on January 17, 2007 at 4:55 PM
The HuffPoo and DU crowd thanks you for writing about the president.
Made me smile. You do that several times a day. The trolls will also be pleased, as they will think of another president. You’re very customer focused :)
…depends on who the fuzzy is…not this one! Jeff Greenfield of CNN said that Mr. Obama dresses like Ahmi. It was a huge blunder and they hoped to be able to turn the time back for a few seconds…dang, technology of today…

That guy in the background looks like he has gas.
RightWinged on January 17, 2007 at 5:04 PM
Allah, AP, you’ve been called a donkey – now I’m getting worried!

A baby-kissing nuke-maker still gets nuked.
Kralizec on January 17, 2007 at 5:16 PM
I think he’s taking a bite out of her.
This all sounds somehow familiar, though–a bungling anti-Semitic president, a weak economy, and sky-high inflation. Anybody know how you say “malaise” in Farsi?
ReubenJCogburn on January 17, 2007 at 5:21 PM
Allahpundit, you do a sneaky headline like no other. Brilliantly played, Sir.
Is that before or after the Saudi production increase?
Kid from Brooklyn on January 17, 2007 at 5:26 PM
Heh.
That kid looks thrilled, doesn’t she?
Slublog on January 17, 2007 at 5:32 PM
Yep, looked it up – Jimmy Carter.

Wow! You had me!
budorob on January 17, 2007 at 5:51 PM
As long as he doesn’t take up kissing boy’s stomachs, they’ll be okay.
Gregor on January 17, 2007 at 5:54 PM
That’s at least the 2nd time you’ve done that, you sly dog you.
Seixon on January 17, 2007 at 6:03 PM
People are bailing on the President?! SHOCKER!!! I think it is because everyone realizes that Bush and the conservatives hate America almost as much as Imamadmanjihad. Iran wants to destroy us from outside the U.S. Conservatives are much more sly. They want to destroy us from within.
shackler on January 17, 2007 at 6:11 PM
Kudos AP, I fell for the headline hook, line, and sinker. I’m still trying to pull the hook out. Can you imagine his position if they didn’t have total media censorship and control over there? Oh wait, if they had our MSM, it would still be total support, like they already do.
still468 on January 17, 2007 at 6:29 PM
President Bush and the conservatives are destroying us, yea right. I think the liberals need a new doomsday scenario.
I’ve been hearing that the conservatives are going to destroy America since the 60′s, when I was a child, and I’m still waiting for the destruction to occur. I wonder how long this supposed destruction is going to take? 100 years? 200 years? Forever?
I did see a little of the predicted destruction in the 70′s under President Carter, mostly to our economy, but that destruction ended and reversed itself in the 80′s under President Reagan.
Damn you conservatives, you ruined the predicted destruction of America! No wonder the liberals hate you, you keep messing up their predictions.

Well done!

He makes promises and more promises, but Israel is still on the map. And that pesky Whitehouse is sooo not on fire. /s

So?
He’s gonna kill off and intimidate the opposition.
Our president seems content rolloing over for the opposition.
And yet ours is still the evil one?
In an effort to understand the left position, I’m going to go slam my head into a door.
Ringmaster on January 17, 2007 at 7:22 PM
Well AP, your tricky headline fooled nearly everyone and brought out (so far) one absolute idiot moonbat that I haven’t noticed a post from for a long time.
Hope you are proud of yourself. ;-)
LegendHasIt on January 17, 2007 at 8:00 PM
He’s not kissing babyies for a campaign photo op. That’s him planting lips on his latest bride!
Hyunchback on January 17, 2007 at 9:44 PM
Great twist, well played.
And to repeat a much earlier request. May we please have a twit-filter?
