I thought you weren’t going to post here anymore. Since when did Islam become a race? While one can certainly make a case that Islam is racist, (Muhammad once said that the Arabs were the most noble of races, he also owned black slaves), Islam is composed of Arabs, Turks, Persians, Indonesians, Phillipinos, …. Aren’t liberals supposed to be smart?

The other day Condi said at a press conference in Egypt that the executions had been “mishandled”, as was that of Saddam. “We were disappointed there was not greater dignity given to the accused under these circumstances.”

Dignity? What madness is this? And now Bush is mumbling about the executions being immature.

The dignity in question is the dignity of the state and of the power of the state. Never mind.

Jim Lehrer’s interview with Bush was excellent–not a gotcha, not a sycophant.

How come nobody in the administration is saying these SOBs got what they deserved? That we should redistribute their wealth to the families of their victims? That we should have tried and executed him quickly rather than putting him in a suit and letting him blather on?

Makes you wonder which side the administration is on. Do they want to win this thing or not?

Even worse, this guy is being buried next to Saddam and his gravesite turned into a shrine. Saddam and all his executed cronies should be burned and their ashes scattered. What is the sense in creating a place where pilgrims can come and beat their breasts over his “unjust martyrdom”? Unless you’re periodically going to drop a cluster bomb on the pilgrims – but we already know that bombing our enemies at a funeral is a big no-no.

He says the execution “makes it harder for me to make the case to the American people that this is a government that does want to unify the country and move forward.” Which is not unlike saying that mainstream Muslim support for jihad makes it harder for him to make the case to Americans that Islam means peace.

After Saddam got his neck snapped, he was met at the Pearly Gates by George Washington, who slapped him across the face and yelled, “How dare you try to destroy the nation I helped conceive!”

This sounds more like a political sound byte than what one would imagine his real opinion to be. It also doesn’t match the tone of his messages after the execution took place. He’s twisting and I think the new congress is causing him to do it. The former Bush would never have made such a concession publicly. Now we wait for the other shoe to drop when we’ll discover the meaning behind this change in message.
